reminder notice ...The above billboard was arranged by the Australian Friends of Palestine Association - www.afopa.com.au) & is now displayed at the following locations in Adelaide: 1. 240 Diagonal Road, Marion 2. 16 Glen Osmond Road, Parkside 3. 286 Kensington Road, Marryatville 4. 6-8 Dequetteville Terrace, Kent Town. It is believed that these areas are some of the busiest road corridors for daily traffic in Adelaide, particularly at peak hours. In any one day thousands of cars are often stationary near by waiting for lights or are travelling at slow speeds past these billboards. As well as this two are at a level that enables pedestrians to examine the maps, so many people will see the message about Disappearing Palestine. The graphic was designed in Gaza especially for us, so some Palestinian graphic artists there have directly benefitted from this project. We hope that you will be excited about this as much as the Executive Committee is. We are hoping that you will inform as many people as possible about these billboards, including forwarding this email, writing to politicians about Disappearing Palestine, ringing up radio talk back shows and writing to newspapers, blogs, Facebook and even sending some tweets. Edward Said once remarked about the power of maps: "In the history of colonial invasion maps are always first drawn by the victors, since maps are instruments of conquest; once projected they are then implemented. Geography is therefore the art of war but can also be the art of resistance if there is a countermap and a counterstrategy." Edward Said, Rally and Resist For Palestinian Independence, 1994
