do unto him what he wants to do to others...

shitbag...

Jones talks rubbish... He is a shit bag...

blames the speed of his motor mouth for telling porkies...

Alan Jones did not breach the radio industry’s code of conduct or his broadcaster’s licence conditions when he said five times that Julia Gillard should be “put in a chaff bag” and dumped at sea, the broadcasting regulator has found. But it does say Jones made no effort to check his claims about the human carbon contribution to the atmosphere, and his broadcaster, 2GB, must improve its processes for fact-checking or face a licence condition.

ACMA this morning announced that it had found that Jones’ “chaff bag” comments in June and July 2011, also directed at Sydney lord mayor Clover Moore and then-Greens leader Bob Brown, did not incite violence or hatred based on age, gender, race or other characteristics.

“It was clear that the comments were not genuine invitations to violent behaviour but were figures of speech intended to cursorily dismiss the political policies of the Prime Minister … Whilst disparaging and disrespectful, they were not strong, intense or inflammatory enough to be capable of being construed as urging violence or brutality.”

making false carbon tax price claims...

The consumer watchdog says a South Australian refrigeration company has admitted to making false carbon tax price claims.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has accepted a legally-enforceable undertaking from Equipserve Solutions that it will not make further false statements linking price rises to the carbon tax.

Equipserve sent an email to customers which attributed the entire increase of a refrigerant gas price to the carbon tax, when this was not the case.

The refrigeration contractor has agreed to not make similar misleading claims in the future and to send out a corrective notice to its customers advising them of the false claims.

Equipserve has also agreed to train its staff on their legal obligations.

The ACCC's chairman Rod Sims says Equipserve avoided potential fines because of its full cooperation with the regulator once concerns about the statements were raised.

"Businesses must carefully consider the basis for any pricing claims to ensure such claims are truthful and have a reasonable basis," he explained.

Alan Jones should be fined as well... Alan Jones is an idiot. Tony Abbott is an idiot...

This is where we are weak...

There are calls for a boycott of radio station 2GB over remarks by Sydney broadcaster Alan Jones that the Prime Minister's father, John Gillard, had "died of shame"
The talkback host told a packed room of Liberal Party members: "Every person in the caucus of the Labor Party knows that Julia Gillard is a liar, everybody. I will come to that in a moment. The old man recently died a few weeks ago of shame. To think that he has a daughter who told lies every time she stood for Parliament."

In a tape recording of the dinner, laughter can be heard in the background as Jones makes his remarks.
Jones went on to claim the media had somehow brainwashed the federal Liberal Party to go easy on the Prime Minister because "she's a woman".
"No, no look, hang on, this is where we are weak. This is where we are weak," Jones said. "Can you believe that they have gone, the federal party because they've been brainwashed by the media to 'oh back off, she's a woman, go easy'."
His remarks were met with outrage tonight, with thousands of people taking to social media to condemn his stance.
A list of advertisers on 2GB was being circulated, with calls for those companies to boycott the Jones show or 2GB altogether if he is not removed or disciplined.
Jones's comments were recorded at a $100-a-head Sydney University Liberal Club President's dinner held at the Waterfront Restaurant at the Rocks last Saturday.

Alan Jones should be fined... Alan Jones is an idiot. Tony Abbott is an idiot...

apologies not accepted...

Sydney broadcaster Alan Jones has been condemned as being "cruel and offensive" in comments he made about Prime Minister Julia Gillard at a function last week.

In an address to the Sydney University Liberal Club president's dinner last Saturday, Jones claimed Ms Gillard's father "died of shame" because of the political "lies" his daughter told.

In a secret recording by a News Limited journalist, members of the audience at the $100-per-head dinner can be heard gasping with surprise at the comments.

"Every person in the caucus of the Labor Party knows that Julia Gillard is a liar," Jones said.

"The old man died a few weeks ago of shame.

"To think that he had a daughter who told lies every time she stood for Parliament."

Jones also suggested that Ms Gillard's "tears of grief" for her 83-year-old father sparked a leap in the polls.

The Prime Minister's father, John Gillard, died earlier this month after battling illness for several years.

Ms Gillard described him as her inspiration. Others described him as a proud father.

The Sydney University Liberal Club has this morning apologised for Jones's comments.

Gus@#Twitter.com.wd: Jones should be quartered, pilories and ridiculed beyond contempt... He's a vile idiot who's getting too gross for this town... Throw him out of radio into a smelly toilet block where he belongs...

gone for a dip ....

Better still Gus ... how about taking our friend Alan for a dip in that old chaff-bag??

the trick of the apologising lying trickster

Yes John...

In some way I think Jones does this sort of stunt knowingly... He may be a ratbag but he's no dummy... He knows the influence he has on the public at large, thus he pushed the envelope as far as he can, knowing he can then do a somersault with a grand apology, leaving the PM behind, still in the realms of being a liar... That's the trick...

A liar she may be, but Jones is ten times the liar she is, thus by apologising it sorts of wipe Jones' slate clean... "Look I am a big man for admitting I've been wrong here..." It's a reverse psychology trick...

At least, Gillard does not have to apologise for the necessary carbon tax...

That is why Jones apology should not be accepted...

liberals (conservatives) are in it up their nostrils...

Equally staggering is the reaction to his remarks: laughter amidst the gasps. But where was the person who did what needed to be done, which was to stand up and walk out, loudly protesting that by speaking in this manner Jones not only disgraced himself, but also the once proudly courteous party of Sir Robert Menzies? Where was the Sydney University Young Liberals President, Alex Dore, who had invited Jones to the function, publicly dissociating his club from those vicious words?

Instead, the club cravenly tweeted the next day: “Brilliant speech by Alan Jones last night. It's no wonder he's the nation's most influential broadcaster!”
Equally appalling was the non-reaction of the two senior Liberal politicians in the room, both at the time and subsequently. No protest on the night. And on Saturday, State Liberal MP Ray Williams told the Sun-Herald's Heath Aston, that he couldn't recall the remark. Nor, apparently, could the President of the Young Liberals, Simon Fontana. How very, very convenient. Perhaps they also missed that one of the auction items on the night was a “Chaff bag jacket, signed by Alan Jones". This is funny? This is acceptable, from a party already under attack because of a growing perception that its leader Tony Abbott is misogynistic?

That is why Jones apology should not be accepted...

Prime Minister Julia Gillard is refusing to take a call from veteran broadcaster Alan Jones, who says he wants to apologise for comments he made about her father.

Jones told a Liberal fundraiser that Ms Gillard's late father probably "died of shame" because of his daughter's political "lies".

On Sunday the 2GB broadcaster acknowledged his actions may have caused her distress and added to her grief and loss.

"To even offer any impression that I might seek to diminish the grief that a daughter would feel for her father, independently who that daughter might be, is unacceptable," he told a press conference.

"The fact it's the Prime Minister adds an extra dimension to it."

He said he wants to apologise personally, and has tried to contact the Prime Minister to do so.

"It's incumbent on me that I make that call. She may not want to take that call," he said.

Ms Gillard's office says she does not want to take the call.

Why should Gillard go down to the level of Jones?... She should not... It would be like an acknowledgement of his grand standing trick... The more he's going to make a song and dance about his "apology" the more he's going to look like a stupid idiot...

more crap from the old chaff bag...

Yesterday Jones held a news conference to apologise for his remarks. ''There are days when you just have to concede and man up and say 'you got it wrong','' he told reporters at 2GB headquarters.
The broadcaster said he had tried to apologise to the Prime Minister personally and had phoned The Lodge in Canberra as well as Kirribilli House but had not been able to speak to her.
He attributed his remarks to what someone had said to him earlier that day at a function for one of his godchildren. But he acknowledged he should not have repeated them.

Jones's apology was undermined when he used the opportunity to continue his attacks on Labor policies, including the carbon tax. He likened the anger about Labor's policies to the anxiety suffered by troops at Gallipoli.
''In the trenches of Gallipoli people made black-humoured comments about facing death,'' he said. ''A lot of people today feel they have got their backs to the door.''
He denied he had previously made offensive remarks about Ms Gillard, including calling her ''a lying bitch'' or saying she should be guillotined.
But last year Jones read out an email he had received from a listener, which said: ''Please, please don't have that lying bitch on your program again''.
Jones has previously said he would like to put the lord mayor of Sydney, Clover Moore, ''in the same chaff bag as Julia Gillard and throw them both out to sea''. Yesterday he said this did not mean he wanted them drowned - more that he would like to see how they swam back.
