reinventing the bible-pusher mad monk...

mad crappinator

Some of Prime Minister Tony Abbott's most controversial speeches have been brushed from Coalition history since the election, including a 2009 speech backing a carbon tax, and a 2004 speech in which he describes abortion as ''a question of the mother's convenience''.

During Mr Abbott's 2009 carbon tax speech, in which he described himself as a ''climate change realist'', he said he doubted climate change was man-made, saying ''we can't conclusively say'' man-made carbon dioxide emissions contributed to climate change.

But he went on to say: ''If Australia is greatly to reduce its carbon emissions, the price of carbon-intensive products should rise … a new tax would be the intelligent sceptic's way to deal with minimising emissions because it would be much easier than a property right to reduce or to abolish should the justification for it change.''

When he was in opposition, the speeches were posted on Mr Abbott's website, tonyabbott.com.au. But since the election, that website has been redirected to liberal.org.au, which only archives material back to July 2010, the month before the previous election.

Despite Mr Abbott becoming opposition leader on December 1, 2009, all his speeches and media statements before July 2010 have disappeared. And at least two recent transcripts have also been expunged from the public record.

They include an interview on Sky with Chris Kenny in which Mr Abbott vowed to lift foreign aid - a position he later reversed - and a speech to the conservative Institute of Public Affairs.

In March, Mr Abbott was quizzed about whether he would heed the advice of former finance minister Nick Minchin, who said the Coalition could save billions of dollars by freezing the growth of foreign aid.

Mr Abbott said: ''Our policy and that of the [then-Labor] government is to lift foreign aid to 0.5 per cent of gross national [income] … It does remain our commitment … we are a generous people, we don't want to be niggardly in respect of our poorer neighbours.''

Five months later, the Coalition said it would cut foreign aid growth over the forward estimates, saving $4.5 billion.

In April he gave a speech to the Institute of Public Affairs decrying the ''great Australian silence'' about its Western heritage.

''There is a new version of the great Australian silence, this time about the Western canon, the literature, the poetry, the music, the history and above all the faith without which our culture and our civilisation is unimaginable,'' Mr Abbott said.

always blaming other people...

WHAT SORT of Federal Government do we have?

Apparently one with 'so called' mandates and a commitment to its promises to the Australian people, who will at the same time happily tell bold-faced lies about its pre-election commitments to the future of Australian and that of our children.

This is yet another low for a government full of bottom dwellers, who continue to cover themselves with further shame at break-neck speed. They are rightly being criticised by state premiers from both sides of the political fence for 'breaking a major election promise'.

But somehow, according to Abbott, it's all the previous Government's fault.

The explanation is not as confusing as the apparent behaviour of the Abbott government. This government is only committed to destroying things.

They have turned us into international pariahs of climate action by moving swiftly to try to remove a price on carbon; by trying to sabotage recent talks in Warsaw; and by dismantling all the structures  – such as the climate commission, the RET and Clean Energy Finance Corporation – that have led to emissions reductions. Indeed, it is uncertain they are even willing to commit to their 'Direct Action' policy, which appears to have been specifically designed to have no meaningful effect on emissions.

They have moved to dismantle the MRRT, a tax which will deliver much bigger revenue streams – should it survive – as mining operations move from construction – where they get large tax write offs – to the production phase, where all the income will flow.

They have us on the verge of having our international relations with Indonesia completely trashed. If a letter can reverse all the damage Abbott has done with his ineptitude, it must be a bloody good letter and someone other than Abbott must have written it.

The Abbott government have also moved very quickly to destroy the ACT's same sex marriage laws, while moving to weaken the Racial Vilification laws to protect their mate Andrew Bolt. Both socially destructive moves.

blaming our sense of hearing...

Tony Abbott defends Gonski reversal, saying election pledge was misheard

PM argues he made only a broad commitment on school funding but critics dismiss 'clever words to hide broken promise

Come on Tony, piss orf!... You made sure we heard one thing while you "meant" another... This is typical of psychopath... You talked shit... End of story.

the little shit misunderstands news and advertising...

Tony Abbott has accused Australia's national broadcaster of acting as an "advertising amplifier for the Guardian" by collaborating on the story that revealed intelligence agencies' attempts to tap the Indonesian president's phone.

The prime minister levelled the criticism at the ABC during an interview with the conservative commentator Andrew Bolt on Sunday, while conceding of that revelation that "plainly it was a story".

Guardian Australia and the ABC jointly revealed on 18 November that Australian spies attempted to listen in on the personal phone calls of the Indonesian president, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, and targeted the mobile phones of his wife, senior ministers and confidants.

The story was based on a top-secret document, dated November 2009, supplied by the former US intelligence contractor Edward Snowden. It led to a diplomatic stand-off between Australia and Indonesia, with Yudhoyono demanding a full explanation and then calling for a code of ethics between the two countries surrounding intelligence matters in future.

The ABC's managing director, Mark Scott, told a Senate estimates hearing that Guardian Australia approached the ABC about working in partnership on the story, similar to the Guardian's collaboration with other major publishers over previous leaked documents.

Abbott indicated he would have had no problem with the ABC reporting the story once the Guardian had published but questioned the partnership, which led to a synchronised release. Both media outlets mentioned the collaboration with the other when covering the issue.

"I think it's fair enough for people to question the judgment of the ABC, not in failing to cover the story as it were, because plainly it was a story, but in choosing to act as, if you like, an advertising amplifier for the Guardian," Abbott said on Ten's Bolt Report.

"It was the Guardian's story which the ABC seemed to want to advertise, even though there's not normally advertising on the ABC."

That last line by Abbott shows how much he has shit-brains and thinks with his arse... Does he really want people to believe this crap?... Really?... He tries to take us for fools, day in day out — all the time... Is he stupid or what? How long has he misunderstood news and advertising? I know he is used to the merde-och press mixing both in advertorials in his favour, but HIM — a Rhodes scholar? PLEEZE....

TONY ABBOTT IS AN IDIOT WHO SHOULD HAVE BEEN FLUNKED BY THE PROFESSORS AT OXFORD.

the little shit plays the merde-och card...

Prime Minister Tony Abbott says he has no plans to change the way the ABC operates, despite criticising the public broadcaster for showing "poor judgement" in publishing leaked documents about Australia's intelligence gathering operations.

His comments came after ABC managing directorMark Scott again defended publishing the Indonesian spying revelations, and amid internal Coalition calls to reform the ABC.

Revelations that Australia had tapped the phones of Indonesian president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and members of his inner circle sparked a diplomatic crisis between Indonesia and Australia, with the issue still not completely resolved.

Mr Abbott says the ABC was guilty of "very poor judgement" in publishing the stories, but stopped short of saying he would take action against the public broadcaster.

"I think the ABC were guilty of poor judgment in broadcasting that material which was obviously difficult for Australia's national security and long-term best interests," he said.

"As for the ABC's other activity, I can understand why a lot of people in the media think that it's not a level playing field when it comes to competition, given that the ABC is funding to the tune of a billion dollars or so a year by the taxpayer, but it's been thus for many a long year and this Government has no plans to change that."

He was also critical of the ABC jointly publishing the espionage leaks relating to Indonesia with The Guardian.

Though Tonicchio has "no plans to destroy the ABC"... watch this space... he could get someone to do it for him... Don't you worry about that... Turnbull does not have much to do, he might be given the task to "reform" the ABC... For the rite wing rabid Liberals (CONservatives) the ABC is not far enough to the side of Genghis Khan despite having shifted from the middle of the road to a a mild right wing agenda... Proper journalists have to dim their investigations in order to accommodate right wing ideological crap.

Despite these failings the ABC is the last bastion of decent challenging programming — where the truth can be explored despite having to pander to the porkies of rabid opinions — that does not have "advertising"... SBS provides a similar platform but it is a polluted advertising platform... Advertising is pollution of our senses. Advertising is designed to make us consume, for us to become fat then to visit fat-farms for fat reduction in a vicious cycle. Advertising hates the concept of global warming and advertising loves carbon burning.
