spitting the dummy on stacks of bibles...Prime Minister Tony Abbott has acknowledged there has been community concern about his multi-billion-dollar paid parental leave scheme, and says it will be re-worked into a "holistic families package". Mr Abbott said yesterday that he and his ministers would spend the summer break re-designing the scheme, in a concession that the policy remains unpopular within his own party and does not have enough support to pass the Senate. He has previously described the scheme as his "signature policy" and has taken it to two elections. "When I first brought this scheme forward, the Labor Party was promising on stacks of Bibles that we'd be in surplus by now, and obviously we're not," he told the ABC's AM program today. ----------------- Ah Tony, Tony, Tone...... Yes, we would be in surplus by now, but YOU desperately took over with the help of your mate Uncle Rupe. Need I say more? Why shoot yourself in the foot trying to blame Labor for your idiocy, your incompetence, your infantilism, your deceit, your lies, your pandemonium, once more? There is a point a which we start to believe that your nose has grown so long it's dragging on the ground. Your Nanny Scheme as it stands is mostly designed to help rich families, while leaving the poor in the lurch. Not a good look. Trying to use words you do not understand to catch decent people into your web of re-worked deceit would be hilarious if it was not still a massive deceit on the Australia people — while kissing babies, who, unlike koalas, do wear nappies. You also swore on much higher stacks of B A Santamaria bibles many untruths that were just lies — BIG LIES! It's hard to know which one is the dummy in the toon above... Probably both items but one of them does not lie. The other drools, tells porkies and has a long nose...

performance never came, only massive hubris...
Abbott played down the latest poll results on Monday. “This is not the first government to have a rough patch in the polls,” he told Seven’s Sunrise program.
“The Howard government, the Thatcher government, the Reagan government all had rough patches in the polls. I am not the first leader to be subject to a bit of speculation.
“But I think that the public are also focused on performance and this is a government which has fundamentally kept faith when it comes to the big commitments we made to the Australian people.”
The Ipsos poll showed Abbott’s net satisfaction rating – the percentage of people happy with his performance minus the percentage who are unhappy – declined by 12 points in one month to minus 19.
Shorten’s net approval rating was in positive territory: it increased two points to five.
Asked to nominate their preferred prime minister, 47% of respondents selected Shorten and 39% chose Abbott.

living in the fairlyland of his own mind...
Prime Minister Tony Abbott has defended his government's performance, in the face of another voter backlash in a state poll and public revelations of disagreements with a key minister.
Mr Abbott said his government was achieving goals "step by often difficult and contentious step".
"I don't say everything's been perfect, and obviously there are some things that I would wish otherwise, but I believe we've kept faith with the people and delivered on our commitments," he told AM presenter Chris Uhlmann.
