The allegations about having to pay his father came in text messages between Hunter and his daughter, Naomi, 27, according to the New York Post.

"I hope you all can do what I did and pay for everything for this entire family for 30 years," a text Hunter reportedly wrote in 2019 said.

"It's really hard. But don't worry, unlike Pop [Joe Biden], I won't make you give me half your salary."

The outlet reported that there was no direct evidence of this type of wealth transfer found on the laptop.

Emails found on the laptop do, however, show evidence of Hunter being propositioned about the best way to pay thousands of dollars owed for repairs to his father's properties back in 2010.

Emails from June 2010 from Hunter's business partner, Eric Schwerin, show that Hunter was hit up about bills from several Delaware contractors for maintenance at his father's lakefront property.

putin interfered with 2020 elections...

The picture below appeared, I think, in The Atlantic with an article on how Putin made you vote the way you did. It was so clever (incoming new Gus platform CLEVR) that Gus thought wow! This is great! I don't know if it was computer generated from a read foto, I think it was, a read foto or a Fotoshop study from scratch, but one could see the potential to really push Putin's influence beyond your dreams. Let's be honest, the choice between Biden and Trump was another diabolical dilemma for the Covid-19 ridden Americans... So Gus explored the possibility of going direct to the master, the one and only Vladimir. Anyway, Free Julian Assange Now !!!!

From Jonathan Turley...

We have previously discussed the concerted and often embarrassing blackout in the media on stories involving Hunter Biden’s influence peddling during his father’s tenure as Vice President. That includes the burying of the laptop story and the growing contradictions over his father’s denial of any knowledge or involvement in his shady business dealings. Even recent reports that Hunter may have paid prostitutes with his father’s account were blacked out by mainstream media which exhaustively pursued any story related to the Trump children and their dealings and life styles. Now, however, there is a major allegation that Hunter used access to his father to seal previously unknown deals with Mexican businessmen, including Carlos Slim. A picture shows Hunter with the businessmen in the Vice President residence with his father.

As in the past, Americans interested in such stories have had to rely on the foreign press or a couple domestic sites for such information.

The new emails include references to the use of Air Force II by Hunter Biden to pursue the deals — a similar pattern revealed with regard to the China dealings. The emails detail a number of visits to Mexico, including a February 2016 flight on Air Force II with his father.  On the plane was his business partner Jeff Cooper, who ran Illinois-based SimmonsCooper.  That is one of the largest asbestos litigation firms in the country and Hunter was given 3 percent of Cooper’s venture capital firm Eudora Global, according to emails. President Biden’s brother (who featured in past controversial deals) was also reportedly involved in some of these efforts.

These dealings continued into 2018 as Hunter pushed for deals with Slim. One text message from July 24, 2018 reads “Spoke to my dad about ‘Slim ask” and Cooper responds  “Oh that sounds SO F’ING GOOD.”

It obviously does not sound quite so good if you are a reporter who has been repeatedly assured by President Biden that he had no knowledge or involvement in any dealings with Hunter. That was previously refuted by various sources. Hunter himself contradicted his father’s repeated denial. Then there are the emails referring to the “Big Guy”, which witnesses say was Joe Biden. Then there is Tony Bobulinski who stated that he personally met with Joe Biden to discuss Hunter’s business dealings. Bobulinski is repeatedly praised by Hunter Biden in the emails and identified as the person in control of transactions for “the family.” He has directly contradicted Joe Biden’s denial of any knowledge or involvement in his son’s dubious dealings.

The new emails contain additional information directly contradicting President Biden. In addition to earlier pictures from golf trips and references to his involvement or knowledge, new material refers to a notable dinner arranged in Washington, D.C.

Hunter arranged for then Vice President Biden to have dinner on April 16, 2015 with his Ukrainian, Russian and Kazakhstani business associates. They appropriately chose a private room at Café Milano, a Georgetown restaurant that brags that it is “Where the world’s most powerful people go.”  After the dinner, Hunter received an email from Vadym Pozharskyi, an executive with the Ukrainian energy company Burisma, to thank him for introducing him to his father: “Dear Hunter, thank you for inviting me to DC and giving an opportunity to meet your father and spent [sic] some time together. It’s realty [sic] an honor and pleasure.”

It is clear that Hunter Biden was selling access and influence. It appears that Joe Biden was aware of that effort. That is very serious.  If these emails are false, this is a major story. If they are true, this is a major scandal.  Presumably, however, this story will result in another run to the nearest ice cream shop for breathless coverage on the current frozen delights of the President.

In Forceful Defense of Afghan Withdrawal, Biden Says U.S. Achieved Its Objectives

The president insisted that the United States had done more than enough to empower the Afghan police and military to secure the future of their people.

WASHINGTON — President Biden vigorously defended his decision to end America’s 20-year war in Afghanistan on Thursday, asserting that the United States can no longer afford the human cost or strategic distraction of a conflict that he said had strayed far from its initial mission.

Speaking after the withdrawal of nearly all U.S. combat forces and as the Taliban surge across the country, Mr. Biden, often in blunt and defensive tones, spoke directly to critics of his order to bring an end to American participation in a conflict born from the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. He said the United States would formally end its military mission at the end of August.

“Let me ask those who want us to stay: How many more?” Mr. Biden said in remarks in the East Room of the White House. “How many thousands more American daughters and sons are you willing to risk? And how long would you have them stay?”

Please President Biden don't boast about objectives, saving American lives and stuff like this. You have now continued the work that Trump started, which all the effin' "liberal and progressive" media lambasted, but, because it's you, it's a glorious "mission accomplished" rather than a simple retreat... Spare us the bullshit. You left that country like thieves in the night... Most likely Donald would have done a better honourable job for the Afghanistan people...

everyone's an artist...

Virginia Canter, the chief ethics council at Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, a government watchdog, questioned what would stop purchasers of the artwork from subsequently making public they had bought a painting by Hunter Biden.

“I think it’s creative,” Ms. Canter said. “I guess they want to manage the conflict but the problem will be enforcement. Unless you have the purchaser sign nondisclosure agreements, this information would come out.”

The administration should also specifically prohibit officers of foreign governments from purchasing the pieces of art, she said. The Treasury Department warned last year that the anonymity of high-value art transactions could make the market attractive to those engaging in illegal financial activities or people subject to U.S. sanctions.

Andrew Bates, a spokesman for the White House, said the arrangement, which was previously reported by The Washington Post, would ensure ethical dealings.

“The president has established the highest ethical standards of any administration in American history, and his family’s commitment to rigorous processes like this is a prime example,” Mr. Bates said in a statement.

Chris Clark, Hunter Biden’s attorney, did not respond to requests for comment. Mr. Bergès did not respond to a request for comment. An employee who answered the phone at his gallery declined to comment on the arrangement and said Mr. Bergès was not available.

Some ethics watchdogs said the arrangement did not go far enough.

“This was a perfect opportunity for the Biden White House to demonstrate how they are committed to elevating ethics and not allowing their family to trade in on the power of the White House,” said Danielle Brian, the executive director of the Project on Government Oversight. “They’ve disappointed us. This was a missed opportunity, and I think they’ve gone in the wrong direction.”

...

Painting “is literally keeping me sane,” he told The New York Times last year. “For years I wouldn’t call myself an artist. Now I feel comfortable saying it.”

Mr. Bergès told Artnet News last month that he expected Hunter Biden’s art pieces to be sold for as much as $500,000.

Some nasty people like Gus would find Hunter Biden's art a bit below par, akin to George W Bush's ridiculous portraits. One nastier person would mention "bullshit artist" and "Hunter Biden" in the same sentence. But to each their taste in rubbish. If you have a lazy quarter of a million bux, invest in Daddy's Son's effort to keep himself sane, because the world around him, including his dad, is insane. It will be worth it when you sell it to another rich illiterate swimming pool owner.
