super rich climate-warriors playground...
Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos were roasted online for their failure to lead by example after reports of the billionaire climate warriors renting superyachts off the coast of Turkey to party ahead of the COP26 climate summit.
The American tycoons apparently prepared for the UN Climate Change Conference (which kicked off in Glasgow, Scotland on the weekend) aboard luxurious superyachts in the Aegean Sea. According to the British media, the weekly rental price of Gate’s vessel is $2 million. On Friday, the world’s second richest man, Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, was reportedly among the 50 guests at the Microsoft cofounder’s lavish 66th birthday party in the Turkish resort town of Fethiye. Both billionaires got there by helicopter, which – like superyachts – aren’t the cleanest means of transportation in terms of CO2 emissions. The two tycoons, who have been sounding the alarm over climate change and calling on others to curb their needs to help tackle the problem, were later flown to Glasgow on private jets. The behavior of Gates and Bezos did not go over well with people on Twitter, who said they expect bold statements to be followed with action. “Guess the rules [don’t] apply to them?” one person said, while others called the billionaires “elitist hypocrites” and “a joke.”

why not stop deforestation NOW????
World leaders will conclude a two-day climate summit on Tuesday with a multibillion-dollar pledge to end deforestation by 2030, a date too far away for campaigners who want action sooner to save the planet's lungs.
Key points:The pledge was to be issued at the UN's COP26 conference, which will continue for another fortnight to try to craft national plans to forestall the most devastating impacts of global warming.
However, the summit's chair, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, said the agreement on deforestation was pivotal to the overarching ambition of limiting temperature rises to 1.5 degrees Celsius.
"These great teeming ecosystems — these cathedrals of nature — are the lungs of our planet," he was expected to say in Glasgow, according to Downing Street.
"Forests support communities, livelihoods and food supply, and absorb the carbon we pump into the atmosphere. They are essential to our very survival.
"With today's unprecedented pledges, we will have a chance to end humanity's long history as nature's conqueror, and instead become its custodian."

bully at the gabfest....
US President Joe Biden has criticised the leaders of China and Russia for not turning up to the COP26 climate summit.
In a speech on Tuesday night, Mr Biden said climate was "a gigantic issue" and China "walked away" - adding it was the "same thing with Russia and Putin".
Neither Russian President Vladimir Putin nor Chinese leader Xi Jinping are at the summit.
Both countries however have sent delegations to the talks, which are due to run for two weeks until 14 November.
China is the world's largest emitter of carbon dioxide, followed by the US. Russia is the fifth largest after the EU and India.
More than 120 leaders turned up at the conference in Scotland's largest city.
Countries have already announced major deals, including a global pledge to slash methane levels by 2030 as well as to end and reverse deforestation by the same year.
Mr Biden made his comments when asked about the role that other countries - including China, Russia and Saudi Arabia - have played in talks so far.
"The fact that China is trying to assert, understandably, a new role in the world as a world leader - not showing up, come on," Mr Biden said, adding that Xi Jinping's absence was a "big mistake".
He said the same about Mr Putin, saying that Russia's wilderness is burning and their president "stays mum" about the issue.
Mr Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov gave no reason why the Russian leader would not attend when they announced the decision in October, although he said climate change was an "important" priority for Russia.

Pity that Biden chose to insult China and Russia. "A big mistake?"... With security guards and secret service in tow, the world leaders burn more CO2 and pump more hot air in the atmosphere than a hundred 747s or B52s round the planet 24/7 trip. Was it really true that Biden had 86 cars in his motorcade in Rome?... Envoys are as good as leaders — probably better — to bash out something which SHOULD HAVE BEEN BASHED OUT SEVERAL YEARS AGO. Delegates don't have to deal with the hubris of grandstanding politicians in front of media, like intelligent tarts... China and Russia know the problem of global warming as much as anyone else and they will do whatever, probably more than anyone else — considering Australia — in their own ways to bash out a solution...
