"The Biden administration national security team is reportedly divided between liberal internationalists who want to help Ukraine fight a long war against Russia, and realists who see inherent risks of escalation in this approach," explains the EMP Task Force scholar.

Initially, the liberal internationalists rejected Moscow's draft security agreements which requested legal guarantees of NATO's non-expansion eastward and non-admission of Ukraine to the transatlantic alliance, among other matters.

"These liberal internationalists mistakenly believe NATO to be the cornerstone of US national security when the truth is that US membership in NATO serves as a potential millstone around America’s neck that could drag it down into an unnecessary world war with Russia, which would inevitably escalate to the nuclear level," Pyne says.

Snubbing Moscow's security plan prompted the Kremlin to start the special operation to de-militarise Ukraine which would never have begun if US and NATO concluded a security deal with Moscow, Pyne suggests.

The US is seeking to make the conflict in Ukraine more costly for Moscow than whatever Russian President Vladimir Putin hoped to achieve, Under Secretary of Defense for Policy Colin Kahl said on Tuesday. Kahl insisted that Russia was making only “tactical”gains in Ukraine and would be unable to achieve its “grandiose objectives” of taking over the entire country, in part thanks to massive US military aid.

“We’ll continue to provide Ukraine what they need for the fight,” Kahl said on Tuesday, opening a conference organized by the Center for New American Security (CNAS), a Democrat-linked think tank where he used to work.

The Biden administration alone has provided Ukraine with over $5.3 billion in military assistance, of which $4.6 billion has come since February 24, Kahl pointed out. 

The US goal is “to make sure that Ukraine can defend itself, that a sovereign independent democratic Ukraine endures, that we give Ukraine the capability to strengthen their position at the bargaining table,” Kahl explained, and to “impose a cost on Russia in excess to whatever benefits Vladimir Putin hopes to achieve through this conflict.”

“Our goal was not regime change in Russia,” Kahl told the CNAS conference. President Joe Biden famously said otherwise in late March. His aides quickly backtracked, saying there was no change in US policy and that Biden was simply being “emotional.” The US president echoed that explanation after returning from Poland, but insisted he was not walking anything back.

According to Kahl, Putin “went into this war seeking to gobble Ukraine up. I think he had in his mind envisioned some kind of a thunder run to Kiev to change the regime,” only for the Russian military to be “badly defeated in battle” and thrown back from the Ukrainian capital.

The Pentagon official accused Putin of having “imperial ambitions” and “seeking to reclaim territory that he believes belonged to a glorious past of the Russian Empire.” With Ukrainian troops being “stalwart defenders” and “holding tough,” Kahl said he did not think the Russians would “have the capacity to achieve those grandiose objectives.”

While Russian troops have been making gains in Ukraine, they are “really on any given day measured in blocks” and are “not large, sweeping breakthroughs of Ukrainian defenses,” Kahl insisted. Both Ukrainians and Russians are taking casualties and “the front lines are not moving very much.”

Much of the fighting in Ukraine is indeed taking place in cities, where Ukrainian troops have set up fortifications because they lack heavy artillery, presidential adviser Mikhail Podolyak said in an interview on Tuesday. 

Russian and allied forces crossed the Seversky Donets river last week after taking Sviatogorsk and advanced towards Slavyansk. Most of the heavily fortified town of Severodonetsk has also been taken, with the remaining Ukrainian troops cut off from the fallback positions in Lisichansk. The government in Kiev confirmed on May 26 that it had lost the key town of Krasny Liman, while the loss of Popasnaya in early May unraveled the central part of the Ukrainian line in Donbass.

As for when the conflict in Ukraine might end and how, Kahl said the US position “has been we’re not going to tell anybody what to negotiate and when to negotiate.” 

“It’s not clear whether the minimum requirements of either side match up with the maximum concessions of the other side,” he said. According to the Ukrainian media, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson told Kiev in early April that the West was not willing to make peace with Russia, at which point talks with Moscow stopped.

Kahl was previously the deputy assistant secretary of defense for the Middle East in Barack Obama’s first administration (2009-2011). In 2014, after Washington backed the coup in Kiev and then-Vice President Joe Biden was put in charge of Ukraine policy, Kahl became his national security adviser. He worked at CNAS during the Trump administration, before returning to the Pentagon after a party-line vote in the Senate.

The "cities" in Ukraine were fortified by the USSR to resist an attack from the West, with nuclear shelters etc... The Russians would have the exact plans of these fortifications and go slowly but surely despite what the Yanks utter. As well, Putin DOES NOT WANT THE WHOLE OF UKRAINE. All he wants is Ukraine not part of NATO, the Donbass region to be autonomous, Crimea to be Russian (a given) and a security pact with the USA.

Now, the Ukrainians can claim that they pushed back the Russians from Kiev, etc... But taking Ukraine wasn't the plan. Russia did all this to destroy all (98%) the heavy weaponry around Ukraine — as well as secure (vanish?) the Ukrainian nuclear storage. The next step was to expose the 46 US biolabs of the Pentagon in Ukraine. Beyond this, apart from a few cities bordering the Donbass, the main Russian goal has been achieved, including the destruction of the Azov battalions in the region — in which many people — ethnic Russians — are now living in peace.

A lot of stupid retards still think America is a first world country because they don’t know any better and they just believe lies they see on TV.

I’ve said a million times: you get off the plane in Hong Kong or Shanghai, and you feel like you’ve just landed on a base on Mars in the year 2350. Americans simply have no idea just how far behind America is, in terms of quality of life and implementation of modern technology.

Frankly, you take a major step up in terms of basic civilization if you just drive across the border to Mexico. Yes, there are countries that are crappier than America, but you’re talking about like, Africa basically. And even most of Africa itself has lower murder rates and much more personal liberty.

We’ve been predicting for years and years that as we import not just brown people, but the lowest type of brown people, this country is just going to stop functioning. That’s another thing people don’t really understand – despite all of this “brain drain” talk, the actual reality is that the middle class and rich of third world countries don’t have any reason to leave their own countries. The majority of people who want to leave their own countries are the extreme poor and the criminal element. And those are the people that the Jews want to bring to our country. So everybody wins – the third world gets to dump their poor crime element on us, while the Jews get to turn our country into a living hell of all of the worst people on the planet gathered together.

Anyway – the trains don’t work.

A long-haul passenger train carrying 243 passengers and 12 crew derailed in the US state of Missouri, after reportedly striking a truck at a railroad crossing. Preliminary reports mentioned several people with injuries of varying severity, at least three of whom had to be taken to a hospital about 80 miles away.

Authorities later confirmed that two passengers and the truck driver have died, while the total number of injured in the incident was at least 40.

Eight cars and two engines of the Southwest Chief train derailed near Mendon, Missouri on Monday when it struck a vehicle “that was obstructing a public crossing,” Amtrak said in a statement. The train was traveling from Los Angeles to Chicago and the incident happened at 12:42 Central time.

Amtrak said there were “early reports of injuries” but could not offer any specifics, saying only they would release information later as it became available. “Local authorities are currently assisting customers and we have deployed Amtrak resources to assist.”

This was no joke. This was a total debacle.
