Kevin Gallagher was paid $37m over five years, more than Santos booked in profits, while they paid zero tax, raked in $20bn income from government gas permits, and never complained once about the $50bn of public subsidies to the fossil fuel sector. What’s the scam?
The scam is that Santos boss Kevin has had an embarrassing hissy-fit, invoking Venezuela, Nigeria and a “Soviet-style” intervention by Labor to introduce timid gas price caps (at a high $12gj) which ease power bills for ordinary Australians but don’t touch the 80% of gas exported by Santos and other cartel members at all.
Not a peep from Kevin either and his corporate welfare cronies when the government was intervening to hand-out $2bn in subsidies to build Darwin’s Middle Arm gas port to help Kevin and co make millions from gas fracking in the Beetaloo Basin at the expense of the public and the planet.

The fact that the EU stinks of corruption comes as no surprise. In fact, corruption is the mechanism by which the whole machine manipulated by the United States operates. Without corruption they couldn't get their hands on the European officials (who steal but with permission from the masters). Since no one cared about Ursula why did they lash out at the alleged bribe of 600,000 euros from Eva Kaili? Something is wrong. But the question [AND ANSWER] is more complex than it seems.
Eva Kaili was neither more nor less than implementing the European policy of cooperation with Qatar. The bribes she received are logical because all over the world, at the highest level, it is known that decision-makers have to be greased. Without bribes, we do nothing! It's common knowledge now. So why did Kaili fail? [Gus: the revelations of the bribes happened by end of the World Cup, but the facts about the bribes had to be known when Qatar had been awarded the hosting of the cup]
Well, that was a last minute change of perspective by the United States [Gus: this was not a last minute decision, as always in the mind of the US boffins, they plant plan-B "manipulations" and "fall-back positions", including blowing up NordSea 1 and 2 pipelines, which were activated once Russia had invaded Ukraine]. They decided it was useful to blow up the EU's relationship with Qatar. Why ? So that the EU would no longer have access to liquefied gas from Qatar. It's as simple as that. The EU no longer has access to gas from Russia, nor from Iran, and now from Qatar. The world's top three producers. What does this mean if not that the EU will be absolutely dependent on gas from the world's fourth largest producer, that is to say… THE UNITED STATES. Gas which, by the way, is also very expensive, much more expensive! It's worth sacrificing some of your useful idiots for such an action.
Not to mention that, in this way, you give the signal that the whole thread of corruption is in the hands of Big Brother on the other side of the ocean.
