Stephen Colbert opened Tuesday’s Late Show nervous for his revealing interview with Prince Harry, and also for a classified documents snafu involving papers from Joe Biden’s time as vice-president found at one of his offices at the University of Pennsylvania.

 

“Come on, Joe. Classified?” Colbert worried. “Is this just what every president does now? Just scatter a trail of intelligence like Johnny Document-seed? Are these classified files everywhere? My God, this is stressing me out. I’m sweating bullets here.”

Colbert on Biden v Trump documents: ‘It’s comparing apples to orange-man’

Donald Trump, of course, reacted to the news with glee, posting on Truth Social: “When is the FBI going to raid the many homes of Joe Biden, perhaps even the White House?”

“Wait a minute, he may be on to something. Are you telling me there are classified documents in the White House?!” Colbert joked.

“I can’t believe I have to explain this,” the host continued, “but while those documents should have been returned earlier, there’s no comparison between this and the transparently nefarious behavior of the ex-president hauling box after box of classified material to Mar-a-Lago and tossing them into a mop closet. And then when the National Archives say, ‘Hey, where are all those documents?’ he goes, ‘Here’s some of them,’ and they say, ‘Are you sure you don’t have any more to give us?’ And he says, ‘I don’t know. What I do know that I have is executive privilege.’”

Colbert continued with the recap of Trump’s classified documents and the FBI raid at Mar-a-Lago: “And they go to a judge, and the judge says he has to go look for more of them, and he goes [unintelligible blabber].” The FBI subpoenaed Trump, “and he goes ‘OK, here’s 38 more documents.’ And they go, ‘Is this everything?’ And he says, ‘You bet, looked everywhere.’ And the justice department says, ‘We don’t believe you,’ and he says, ‘What are you going to do about it?’ And the FBI raids Mar-a-Lago and finds hundreds of documents and he goes, ‘Oh I knew I had those, I packed them myself, but don’t worry, I declassified them with my mind.’”

... ONE HAS TO REALISE THAT THIS WAS A PLOY TO GIVE AN "ORANGE" (EXCUSE THE PUN) LIGHT TO GERMANY FOR SENDING LEOPARD TANKS... IT'S MOST LIKELY THAT THE ABRAMS TANKS WILL NEVER GO TO UKRAINE, BECAUSE:

A) THEY'LL NEVER BE READY ENOUGH.

B) THE RUSSIANS WILL HAVE BLOWN UP THE 100 EUROPEAN LEOPARD TANKS.

C) THE WAR (THE RUSSIAN INTERVENTION) WILL BE TERMINATED BY A DEAL FAVOURABLE TO THE RUSSIANS.

D) THE WEST WILL APOLOGISE FOR HAVING GOT IT WRONG BY SUPPORTING A NAZI GOVERNMENT IN KIEV.

E) COLBERT WILL CARRY ON MAKING SOME DEMOCRATS LAUGH — A BIT MORE YELLOW THIS TIME.... (laughing in a forced way to hide unease, irritation.)

Recent statements by former Russian officials in President Boris Yeltsin's entourage refute the Western propaganda narrative that Ukraine would be denuclearized in exchange for security guarantees.

In Ukraine, the Soviet military had deployed stationary and mobile ICBMs as well as short- and medium-range nuclear missiles or nuclear artillery munitions. In 1991, with the separation of Ukraine from the former USSR and its declaration of independence, the world suddenly found itself faced with a new nuclear power, which happened to be the 3th world nuclear power.

Russian President Boris Yeltsin was not at all interested in Ukraine because Russia had a great thirst for money at the time. He was therefore happy that he no longer had so many missiles to decommission and destroy under the 1987 Treaty on the Elimination of Short and Medium Range Missiles and the START Treaty.

But George Bush had a nervous breakdown because Ukraine did not want to give up its nuclear weapons. He suggested that the United States first sign nuclear reduction treaties with Ukraine, as it did with the USSR, now Russia. Kyiv also claimed the 6th seat on the UN Security Council, with veto power. Faced with this situation, the United States had to ask Yeltsin for help.

Russian generals sent the Pentagon details of specifications for Russian nuclear warheads which showed they expire within the next 7 years. The United States and Russia have joined forces to prevent Ukraine from obtaining substitutes for the radioactive materials in the warheads.

Finally, in 1994, Ukraine gave in to American pressure and accepted the Budapest Memorandum, drafted in Washington, without notifying Russia beforehand. The agreement was guaranteed by Russia, Ukraine, the United States and the United Kingdom. The reason kyiv gave for abandoning nuclear weapons was the lack of capacity to maintain them.
