the UN would have preferred a nazi invasion of the donbass region......

Speaking in Ukraine’s capital Kyiv on Wednesday, the Secretary-General assured President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that the United Nations “will continue to seek solutions and a just peace for the people of Ukraine, and the world.”
António Guterres expressed “deep solidarity” with all of those who have become victims of the full-scale Russian invasion of February last year.

Violation of the Charter

“The position of the United Nations, which I have consistently expressed, is crystal clear: Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is a violation of the UN Charter and international law”, declared the UN chief.

He reiterated once again, that the sovereignty, independence, and integrity of Ukraine must be upheld within it’s [sic] recognized international borders, established at independence in 1991, following the dissolution of the Soviet Union.

Until a just peace can be attained, he said the UN would continue working hard to mitigate the impacts of a war “which has caused enormous suffering for the Ukrainian people – with profound global implications.”

The Secretary-General noted the UN had been on the ground throughout the invasion, delivering aid to millions.

“I want to express my deep solidarity with all the victims of the war. To those who have lost their lives and to their loved ones. To those who have seen their hopes dashed or had to flee in search of survival.

“They are all owed effective accountability” the UN chief said.

He ran through some of the key moments where the UN had engaged to help save lives and even avoid potential nuclear disaster, including the evacuation of civilians from the stricken Azovstal steel plant in the destroyed city of Mariupol last year.

The International Atomic Energy Agency, IAEA, has been “fully mobilized to try and preserve the safety and security of nuclear power plants in Ukraine, including in Zaporizhzhia”, the UN chief said.

23 million tonnes of grain

The Black Sea Grain Initiative, proposed by the Secretary-General and brought into operation following agreement between Russia, Ukraine, Türkiye and the UN last July, has already facilitated the export of 23 million tons of grain from Ukrainian ports.

The deal is due to expire in less than two weeks, after being extended last November, when a breakthrough was made on increasing the flow of Russian fertiliser which had been held up in European ports.

The deal, managed by a Joint Coordination Centre in Istanbul, has contributed to lowering the global cost of food and provided “critical relief to people, who are also paying a high price for this war, particularly in the developing world”, Mr. Guterres noted.

He reiterated that exports of Ukrainian, as well as Russian food and fertilizers, are essential to global food security and prices. He said it was critical for the initiative to continue beyond this month’s expiration.

On the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, Mr. Guterres said that it was important to facilitate mediation to seek the full demilitarization of the area, while ensuring that the plant goes back to normal operation: “The United Nations stands ready to offer its good offices.”

APPALLINGLY, THE UNITED NATIONS HAS NOT BLAMED VOLODYMYR FOR BREACHING THE MINKS AGREEMENTS #2202:

#2202

Adopted by the Security Council at its 7384th meeting, on 17 February 2015 The Security Council,

Recalling the purposes and principles enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations and reaffirming its full respect for the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine,

Expressing its grave concern at the tragic events and violence in eastern regions of Ukraine, Reaffirming its Resolution 2166 (2014), Firmly convinced that the resolution of the situation in eastern regions of Ukraine can only be achieved through a peaceful settlement to the current crisis,

  1. Endorses the “Package of measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements”, adopted and signed in Minsk on 12 February 2015 (Annex I);
  2. 2. Welcomes the Declaration by the President of the Russian Federation, the President of Ukraine, the President of the French Republic and the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany in support of the “Package of measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements”, adopted on 12 February 2015 in Minsk (Annex II), and their continuing commitment therein to the implementation of the Minsk Agreements;
  3. 3. Calls on all parties to fully implement the “Package of measures”, including a comprehensive ceasefire as provided for therein;
  4. 4. Decides to remain seized of the matter.

We knew that the Minks Agreements were designed to fool Russia and the United Nations. This has been confirmed by Poroshenko, Merkel and Hollande revelations.

We know that the Kiev government under Zelensky had lied about its intention to get elected. We know that Zelensky was preparing to attack the Donbass region. Zelensky is an unintelligent dick-piano playing trickster. Russia had no choice but to defend the Donbass region which used to be Russian. “Ukraine” has nil integrity.

believe you me.....

Ukraine has decided to fight on in the ruined city of Bakhmut because the battle is pinning down Russia's best units and degrading them ahead of a planned Ukrainian spring counter-offensive, according to an aide to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Key points:
  • Russia made Bakhmut the main target of a winter push involving hundreds of thousands of fighters
  • The head of the Wagner private militia said Moscow was failing to provide enough ammunition
  • There has also been speculation that Russia may be running short on missiles

Russian forces must go through Bakhmut to push deeper into parts of the Donetsk province they do not yet control, though Western officials say that capture of the city is unlikely to change the course of the war.

Kyiv, which had seemed at the start of March to be planning to withdraw westward, announced this week that its generals had decided to reinforce Bakhmut and fight on.

"Russia has changed tactics," Zelenskyy aide Mykhailo Podolyak said in an interview published by Italy's La Stampa newspaper.

"It has converged on Bakhmut with a large part of its trained military personnel, the remnants of its professional army, as well as the private companies."

ON THE OTHER SIDE:

by Valentin Vasilescu

In a meeting with the commanders of the Ukrainian army, President Zelensky decided that Bakhmut would not be abandoned, regardless of the number of casualties suffered. To say that there was an internal discussion is just a way of speaking, since it is in fact an order that he himself received from Washington. NOTE PUBLICLY, THE US RECOMMEND THE UKRAINIANS ABANDON BAKHMUT….

What is the content of this order?

According to Prigogine-Wagner's estimates, 12,000 to 20,000 Ukrainian soldiers are in Bakhmout, caught in a tactical encirclement. The only road to enter and leave the city, not occupied by the Russians, is under the fire of a powerful group of Russian artillery. Russian artillery positions cannot be hit by Ukrainian artillery, as they are out of range. The Ukrainian brigades to the north and south of the city counter-attacked in waves to prevent the advance of Wagner's assault detachments.

How to loosen the noose around the Ukrainian garrison of Bakhmut?

1. From the south, bringing important reinforcements to massively attack Wagner's assault detachments. In practice, this is impossible, because the Ukrainians have no line of forest to camouflage themselves and find themselves directly under the fire of Russian artillery.

2. In the north, the situation is the same as in the south, but it is further complicated by the existence of irrigation canals and by the recent floods caused by the explosion of a dam which the Ukrainians had blown up. This prevents the use of armoured vehicles.

3. A breakthrough 10 km north of Bakhmut along the Sloviansk-Krasna Hora road, followed by a southerly turn and encirclement of the Wagner assault detachments constituting the northern side of the present “Bakhmut's Russian cauldron”. This seems to be the chosen variant.

For this mission, the Ukrainian army had in advance, to resupply and complete itself, north and north-west of Bakhmout, an offensive force (on map A,B,C,D,E) of about 30,000 men. It is made up of 10 trained brigades (2 tanks brigades, 2 artillery brigades, 2 mechanised brigades, 2 airborne brigades, etc.).

It can now be inferred that the 20th mechanised Russian division, deployed in the Soledar-Krasna Hora region, anticipated the Ukrainian move, and kept its forces and, for this purpose, did not initiate offensive action in support of Wagner.

Why did the Americans make this [secret] decision?

The Americans assessed the situation very well. Bakhmut's withdrawal would have created a serious problem for the entire Ukrainian defence in the Donbass and even for the war. Due to the lay of the terrain, the Ukrainian army could not have created a line of defence west of Bakhmut and the Russians would have advanced rapidly westward but also southward.

From southern Bakhmut to the city of Donetsk, the Ukrainians created a strong fortified line consisting of three segments: Toretsk, Avdiivka and Mariinka. After Bakhmut, the Russians had in front of them a network of asphalt roads on which their tanks could roll at high speed. The Russian advance was facilitated by the important communications center of Pokrovsk, which is also the main logistics center for the Ukrainians. The consequence would have been the encirclement of the first and probably also the second fortified segment, Toretsk and Avdiivka, adding to the retreat of the Ukrainians west of Mariinka.

little update.....

though the Artyomovsk (Russian: Артёмовск) — situation is "poised", any serious military analyst, i.e. like colonel McGregor, would say the Ukrainian soldiers are surrounded as explained in the comment above. The fact is that Russia is sustaining very little casualties, while the Ukrainian divisions will either be killed entirely or will surrender. The Ukrainian president is desperately spinning a "good story" of resistance but the outcome is 99 per cent in favour of Russia. Only a miracle can save the Ukrainians....

small update:

The collective west is thinking of increasing production to levels… totally ridiculous again…

Well, for the losses, CNN gives the following figures (Figures from the Ukrainian General Staff, as of 02/28/2023):

259,085 people (soldiers) killed, died of wounds, disease;
wounded, crippled 246,904;
deserted, as well as missing – 83,952;
captured – 28,393.
Knowing that there are 3 injured for 1 killed on average, the medical apparatus seems totally outdated. In the missing, there are probably also many dead. It is also a sign of rout.
