remembering andrew constance......THERE IS AN ELECTION LOOMING IN NEW SOUTH WALES.... THE POSTERS ARE UP, BOREDOM HAS SET AMONGST THE POPULATION... WE REMEMBER ANDREW CONSTANCE WHO PROMISED THAT THERE WOULD BE INCREASE OF PUBLIC TRANSPORT, BUT THEN HE RESIGNED FROM PARLIAMENT, WAS TO RETIRE BUT RE-PRESENTED HIMSELF FOR RE-ELECTION. HE GOT BOOTED OUT BY LABOR.
On 10 March 2020, Constance announced his resignation from politics and will not contest the next state election, citing that recovery from the bushfires will take priority before announcing an effective date.[20] On 5 May 2020, he announced that he would resign from the NSW Cabinet and seek Liberal Party preselection for the 2020 Eden-Monaro by-election.[21] However, within 24 hours he reversed what he called "a hasty decision".[22][23] On 8 May, Constance was removed from his role as Leader of the House of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly "as punishment for his spectacular change of heart over quitting state politics".[24] On 3 October 2021, he announced his intention to quit his state seat to seek Liberal Party preselection for the federal seat of Gilmore at the 2022 federal election [25][26] He announced he would resign on 26 November 2021, triggering a by-election for the seat of Bega.[27]However, he did not officially resign until 30 December 2021.[28] Constance was preselected as the Liberal candidate for Gilmore on 17 January 2022. At the subsequent election, Constance was narrowly defeated by incumbent MP Fiona Phillips of the Australian Labor Party.[29] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_Constance
WE RECOMMEND VISITING THE FOLLOWING LETTER, WHICH ANDREW WOULD HAVE SIGNED WITH ALL HIS TRUST AND BELIEFS, BUT ACCORDING TO MANY FELLOW TRAVELLERS, TOO MANY "PRIVATISED" BUS SERVICES HAVE BEEN CUT AND "PUBLIC" TRANSPORT HAS BECOME A BIT OFF A SHAMBLES (SINCE HE LEFT?).
--------------- A NSW Labor government would keep Sydney’s Western Harbour Tunnel in public hands and cap motorist tolls at $60 a week. The opposition promise, born of a keenness to distinguish itself from the government’s penchant for privatisation, comes with the message that drivers are ultimately footing an unreasonable bill and are entitled to a “fresh start”. The party claims private commuters will pay $115 billion in tolls over the life of NSW’s existing urban transport contracts, with nearly all of it going to toll road operators and Sydney ranking as “the most tolled city” in the world. Currently under construction, the Western Harbour tunnel is expected to slash travel times from the western suburbs to Sydney’s north by 20 minutes and significantly reduce traffic on the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It will be the second tunnel under the iconic landmark and about 6.5km long.
