For most intelligent people, the used-by-date of Jesus has way passed its relevance. Jesus walked in clapped-out sandals —nowadays, preachers travel in Lear jets and wear Gucci suits or whatever shoes by bottega. We know.

Religion, like everything else (probably 99.99 per cent of the time — even basket weaving) is a business. I mean a commercial venture, which requires people to buy something — or donate something. This is humanity’s strength: exchange of goods and ideas. 

Seeing value in what we lack create wants while we may be able to satisfy our basic needs. Enters preaching and advertising....

Advancement of modern societies has relied heavily in manipulating our wants which in return create improvements in our comfort. This has clearly turned humans into consumers. 

We are not “Homo sapiens”. We are “homo konsument”.

The idea of god is part of this consumption. 

 

The Russian “military intervention” in Ukraine has destabilised our western “Americanisation” of konsument purpose, in a way which few would have known, except possibly Putin as a counter measure against NATO. This has pushed the reality into our (American/Western) delusive ideals which were maintained by a couple of tricks: huge arsenal of weapons and trust in the ARTIFICIAL value of the dollar.

THE EMPIRE WAS FOUND TO BE UNABLE TO STRIKE BACK. Russia is winning in Ukraine. The West might kick the boardgame but Russia is prepared for this AS WELL.

NATO had been created to ANNOY the Russians. Successive US Presidents used NATO to belittle Russia. The result could have gone either way, except for a clever little guy who understood the game. NATO ENDED UP REINFORCING RUSSIA’S CAPABILITIES AND DETERMINATION.

We, in the West, the official descendants of Jesus and Mary Magdalene union of the flesh, believed in our righteousness to the point of being arrogant and totally unchristian towards the rest of the world. WE MUFFED IT.

We became Caesars rather than St Peters.

Our religious beliefs are only a dusty facade of pharmaceutical ointment to hide the hideous blotches on our face and butts. 

Now, we’re annoyed that the Chinese are doing better than us… Hello? So what do we do? Invent 97 new genders in order to enjoy various ways the pleasure of sex. Take this China! Our armies need more hairdressers, frock-makers and nail polishers than soldiers. Buggery, a sin in our previous incarnation, is encouraged to foster fleeting friendships. This is perfectly okay as long as you don’t need to go to war in the name of Jesus Christ.

 

Luckily we still have the CITY ELDERS, a registered trademark of the Gateways Ministry inc. to keep us on he straight and narrow to fight the god-denialist commies in China.

U.S. SPECIAL OPERATIONS COMMAND, responsible for some of the country’s most secretive military endeavors, is gearing up to conduct internet propaganda and deception campaigns online using deepfake videos, according to federal contracting documents reviewed by The Intercept.

The plans, which also describe hacking internet-connected devices to eavesdrop in order to assess foreign populations’ susceptibility to propaganda, come at a time of intense global debate over technologically sophisticated “disinformation” campaigns, their effectiveness, and the ethics of their use.

 

While the U.S. government routinely warns against the risk of deepfakes and is openly working to build tools to counter them, the document from Special Operations Command, or SOCOM, represents a nearly unprecedented instance of the American government — or any government — openly signaling its desire to use the highly controversial technology offensively.

SOCOM’s next generation propaganda aspirations are outlined in a procurement document that lists capabilities it’s seeking for the near future and soliciting pitches from outside parties that believe they’re able to build them.

“When it comes to disinformation, the Pentagon should not be fighting fire with fire,” Chris Meserole, head of the Brookings Institution’s Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technology Initiative, told The Intercept. “At a time when digital propaganda is on the rise globally, the U.S. should be doing everything it can to strengthen democracy by building support for shared notions of truth and reality. Deepfakes do the opposite. By casting doubt on the credibility of all content and information, whether real or synthetic, they ultimately erode the foundation of democracy itself.”

The Pentagon released its budget request for Fiscal Year 2024 today. The figure for the Pentagon alone is a hefty $842 billion. That’s $69 billion more than the $773 billion the department requested for Fiscal Year 2023. 

Total spending on national defense — including work on nuclear weapons at the Department of Energy — comes in at $886 billion. Adding in likely emergency military aid packages for Ukraine later this year plus the potential tens of billions of dollars in Congressional add-ons could push total spending for national defense to as much as $950 billion or more for FY 2024. The result could be the highest military budget since World War II, far higher than at the peaks of the Korean or Vietnam Wars or the height of the Cold War. 

The proposed budget is far more than is needed to provide an effective defense of the United States and its allies.

If past experience is any guide, more than half of the new Pentagon budget will go to contractors, with the biggest share going to the top five — Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Raytheon, General Dynamics, and Northrop Grumman — to build everything from howitzers and tanks to intercontinental ballistic missiles. Much of the funding for contractors will come from spending on buying, researching, and developing weapons, which accounts for $315 billion of the new budget request.

As suggested above, Congress will probably add a substantial amount to the Pentagon’s request, largely for systems and facilities located in the states and districts of key members. That’s no way to craft a budget — or defend a country. When it comes to defense, Congress should engage in careful oversight, not special interest politics. 

Unfortunately, in recent years the House and Senate have accelerated the practice of jacking up the Pentagon’s budget request, adding $25 billion in FY 2022 and $45 billion in FY 2023. Given threat inflation with respect to China and the ongoing war in Ukraine, there is a danger that the $45 billion added for FY2023 could be the floor for what might be added by Congress in the course of this year’s budget debate.
