Paris is pressuring European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen to announce a new probe against Chinese electric vehicles in her annual State of the Union speech on Wednesday, despite fears across the bloc that Beijing could retaliate.

For months, the French government and its proxies in industry and the European Commission have been pushing the EU executive to launch an anti-dumping investigation against insurgent Chinese e-carmakers. This could open the way for Europe to impose additional levies against Chinese vehicles it reckons are being sold unfairly cheaply to grind down European competitors.

Germany, Europe’s top carmaking nation, opposes any punitive measures given its major brands are heavily exposed to the Chinese market with much to lose from any trade war.

But despite that pushback from Berlin and its industry officials, Paris is not throwing in the towel. Mentioning the probe in the EU chief's closely watched speech on Wednesday could give the push new momentum, France argues. 

“We’re not giving up on it,” a French official told POLITICO. “It wouldn’t hurt to have it in the State of the Union, because it’s vital for the automotive industry as part of the industrial sector. It would be quite satisfying to see there is movement.” 

France is a longtime supporter of stronger European trade defense measures and muscular industrial policy. 

The EU’s Internal Market Commissioner Thierry Breton, who is French, specifically warned about the rise of Chinese electric car exports in a speech last week.

The issue of migration to countries on the European continent has recently become increasingly critical. Much has been said and written about this, but the issue remains unchanged: many individuals from African and Asian countries are attempting to cross the Mediterranean Sea in pursuit of a better life amidst poverty, conflict, and climate change.

According to Irish journalist Sally Hayden, migration and the West’s response to it is one of the defining events of our century; at this point, “it is a story of catastrophe and death, cruelty and complicity.” In response to the plight of millions of people in underdeveloped countries, “the rich world is tightening its borders.” In the UK, the government has passed a draconian law that prevents refugees from claiming their right to international protection and plans to house asylum seekers on a floating barge. When European officials talk about “breaking the smugglers’ business model,” they are omitting the fact that traffickers are merely meeting needs. Migration debates tend to center on how to keep ordinary, unattached individuals out rather than larger existential issues. How is it possible for the West to promote human rights while tolerating crimes committed to keep refugees from accessing European soil? And they are from countries that have long been exploited by the West.

“Mass deaths have long been the norm on Europe’s borders,” writes Sally Hayden. Since 2014, 27,800 people have perished or gone missing in the Mediterranean Sea, a figure that is likely to be underestimated. This year promises to be especially deadly. This is what a crisis of human rights, ethics, and, most importantly, global inequality looks like: more than 2,000 people have died trying to enter Europe.

Approximately a thousand migrants have lately perished while attempting to cross the Atlantic Ocean to reach Spain, according to the Egyptian newspaper Al Ahram.

The volume of migration flows will only grow in the future. Even Pope Francis said that Europe contributed to the migration crisis and that some nations’ “national selfishness” was impeding efforts to resolve it, when he visited Greece in early 2021. Francis claimed, while speaking on the Greek island of Lesbos, that the treatment of migrants constituted a “collapse of civilization.”

The Mediterranean policy of the European Union is defined solely by the intention to benefit and deceive emerging countries. The Europeans hastened to establish their dominant position in the Mediterranean Sea region following the fall of the Soviet Union by advancing the draft Barcelona Declaration. In 1995, it was officially announced that a free trade zone in the Mediterranean would be established by 2010. In 2008, a new initiative known as the “Mediterranean Union” was introduced; like the previous initiative, it made numerous promises of collaborative projects until it became clear that it was nothing more than an empty pledge to cover up the exploitation of the resources of the coastal African and Asian states. No one today remembers it.

The West has always clearly followed the doctrine of “divide and conquer,” provoking new conflicts and inflaming old ones. Some Europeans occasionally discuss their own crimes as it becomes increasingly difficult to tell what is right and what is wrong. Killing Gaddafi was a grave mistake. With his death came instability in Libya and Africa. These were the remarks of Antonio Tajani, the foreign minister of Italy, the same Italy that earlier took part in NATO’s toppling of Gaddafi. “He was certainly better than those who came after him. And they were terrorists,” the minister concluded.

Europeans actively maintain a number of hotspots in the Mediterranean, including war scenarios in Western Sahara, the Cyprus issue, the devastation of Libya, the escalating catastrophe in Syria, and many other difficulties. For how many years has Spain kept the colonial outposts of Ceuta and Melilla on Moroccan soil?

In this context, European politicians’ fraudulent rhetoric about “human rights” is particularly offensive. Until recently, some scientists suggested the possibility of the European Union launching a greening project in North Africa and the Sahel. The plan called for planting orchards and forests, but it would cost a lot of money. However, given the fact that the sun does not actually set there for 365 days, it would have been possible to install a belt of solar panels here, which would have solved the problem of energy supply for this project. The implementation of this idea will provide jobs for millions of Africans; besides, it will be a really big contribution to counteracting global climate change on our planet and will prevent the temperature from rising in the southern states of Europe, benefiting the lives of hundreds of millions of people. They are now suffering from heat waves or related flooding.

Greta Thunberg, a Swedish student, believes that it is important to organize young people to exert pressure on the Western powers that are currently in power because they are “stealing the future from modern generations,” while only promising to take actions to preserve the Earth’s ecology.

Perhaps Greta and her supporters could put their words into action and travel to the Sahel countries to plant enough trees, different varieties of date palms, and shrubs to transform the dry region into an oasis of affluence in order to further the ideals of a green economy.

Still, the EU’s stance toward the Mediterranean Sea is just one of many examples of Europe’s crisis and decline.

This fits really well with Medvedev's reaction to EU trying to forbid Russians to travel to Europe. 

EU rules banning Russian nationals from bringing personal cars and smartphones into the bloc are downright insulting and degrading, former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has insisted. He urged Moscow to suspend diplomatic relations with the bloc. In a statement on Telegram on Monday, Medvedev, who is Deputy Chair of the Russian Security Council, mockingly praised what he described as “straightforward and honest Brussels bosses.” “Directly and without beating around the bush, they told all Russians: ‘We see you as second-rate people.’” He went on to suggest that the sweeping restrictions were not a punishment for the government in Moscow, but rather “a real spit in the face of every single Russian citizen.” 

As for possible retaliation, Medvedev ruled out a symmetrical response to EU citizens. “Unlike many national leaders whose relatives worked in the [Nazi] SS, we are not racists,” he said, adding that foreigners who visit Russia tend to love the country. “It would be better to just temporarily suspend diplomatic relations with the EU. And bring diplomatic personnel back to our country,” the ex-president suggested, arguing that such a move would make European leaders “fill their pants” because “embassies are evacuated before very specific events,” and they would not know what to expect from Russia.

I am on record, suspension of diplomatic relations with EU should be not temporary but permanent because there is nothing to talk about with Europeans. As Irina Alksnis succinctly pointed out today:

Translation: A more difficult question is: why Europe itself does not want to see Russians. A popular version is that the EU fears a fifth column in the form of citizens with Russian passports, plus the decision of the European Commission is seen as preparing Europeans for a direct heated conflict with Moscow. However, it is unlikely that our tourists will be perceived by Brussels as a real threat in the event of a full-scale war with Russia. In addition, the Europeans have extensive experience in dealing with non-combatants from enemy countries, so if something happens, concentration camps will be created with lightning speed. And this is also worth keeping in mind for fellow citizens who are stubbornly drawn to Europe.

The European Elites have a stunning new plan to defeat the fearsome Russian hoards marching toward Central Europe again. EU grand strategists will reinvent Adolph Hitler’s idea of Lebensraum. French Europe Minister Laurence Boone told POLITICO recently that the only way to combat Putin’s yearning for conquest is for the EU bloc to expand. No, I am not joking.

According to the news, the EU is preparing for a potential wave of expansion that could expand the bloc by as many as eight new members, including Ukraine and six Balkan countries. Boone spoke with me by phone, and said:

“Vladimir Putin, in addition to his territorial ambitions, also aims to weaken the European Union. That’s a factor we need to take into account and fight against.”

As for Hitler’s grand plan of ‘Lebensraum,’ which he laid out in his book Mein Kampf (is banned in Russia), the German Reich would gain power and control of nations to the east to colonize them with German settlers. The Slavs who lived in these territories were to be wiped away by expulsion, enslavement, and slaughter. And Westerners still wonder at Vladimir Putin’s warnings about Nazis in Ukraine and having a neutral zone between the EU and Russia. Russians and Ukrainians are brothers and Slavs, genetically.

The Serbs, Bosnians, Belarussians, and Ukrainians are in the crosshairs of EU President Ursula von der Leyen (who I lovingly refer to as von der Clucky) and her handlers, the Western oligarchs and the Royal houses of central and Western Europe.

Bulgarians, Croats, Macedonians, Montenegrins, and even the Slovenes have already been assimilated into what looks more and more like a Fouth Nazi Reich. The breakup of Yugoslavia was with the intent of creating these smaller, dependent nations with little or no power to resist. I don’t want to get into ancient history and the story of the Vistula Veneti. Still, it’s fair to say Roman Catholicism and Orthodox Christianity play a central role in the Ukraine affair.

On a parallel note, Ursula von der Leyen is now out to eradicate the currently protected European wolf because her ancient 30-year-old pony, Dolly, was killed by a wolf in northeastern Germany last year. No, seriously. She says, “The concentration of wolf packs in some European regions has become a real danger for livestock and potentially also for humans.” Interestingly, she was not alarmed before Dolly was left in a pasture like a bait animal to be killed by the endangered canine. Now she is ranting in a thick, frantic German accent, saying, “I want them all ERRADICATED.”

Thank goodness Slavs have not been classified as pack animals dangerous to livestock and humans! Oh, wait. According to the Neocons and Western elites, they are. And Putin, as the leader of the ravenous pack, has more crosshairs on him than Sylvester Stallone in one of those action hero flicks. Though I quip here, there is and has always been, a Lebensraum plan in motion against the Eastern Europeans.

Finally, with the EU presidential candidacy of tough-on-technocrats Margrethe Vestager in the coming election, you can expect the outgoing cutthroats of the EU hierarchy to feather their nests increasingly. Moreover, don’t be surprised to see a dramatic escalation of the Ukraine situation once the last Ukrainian Slav has been blown to bits on the eastern front. As for the rest of Eastern Europe already being “Germanized” in Himmler fashion, they may soon be asked to take up positions at the front lines to ensure the fatherland does not lose more ground. Sorry, but as an American historian, geographer, and analyst, the inequality that the EU wreaks looks like what Hitler called “a new order of ethnographic relations.” This has happened here in Greece, especially Crete, since Operation Mercury failed in WW2.

Putin is accused of expansionist intentions. Meanwhile, the European Union and NATO openly confess the ample land grab they intend to complete. How ironic. Russia, once again, was blamed for being the target.
