25 republican governors back texas in standoff with biden.......25 Republican governors back Texas in standoff with Biden A large group of Republican governors has issued a joint statement voicing “solidarity” with Texas Governor Greg Abbott and his stepped-up border protections, accusing the White House of leaving the country “completely vulnerable” amid an influx of illegal migrants. Published on Thursday, the open letter was signed by 25 GOP governors across the country, with Vermont Governor Phil Scott the sole Republican to leave his signature off the message. The state leaders were highly critical of President Joe Biden, who they said had “attacked and sued Texas for stepping up to protect American citizens from historic levels of illegal immigrants, deadly drugs like fentanyl, and terrorists entering our country.” “We stand in solidarity with our fellow Governor, Greg Abbott, and the State of Texas in utilizing every tool and strategy, including razor wire fences, to secure the border,” the letter continued. “We do it in part because the Biden Administration is refusing to enforce immigration laws already on the books and is illegally allowing mass parole across America of migrants who entered our country illegally.” Abbott has been embroiled in a lengthy legal battle with Biden’s Justice Department over Texas’ efforts to stem the flow of illegal immigration into the US. The tensions were exacerbated by a Supreme Court ruling earlier this week which authorized federal Border Patrol agents to remove razor wire installed along the US-Mexico border by the Texas authorities. Abbott responded to the ruling by saying that Biden had “refused to enforce [immigration] laws and has even violated them.” The Texas governor has likened the record-breaking migration numbers in recent years to an “invasion,” and invoked constitutional authorities for a state to defend itself against foreign incursions. “That authority is the supreme law of the land and supersedes any federal statutes to the contrary. The Texas National Guard, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and other Texas personnel are acting on that authority, as well as state law, to secure the Texas border,” Abbott previously argued. The standoff with federal agencies came to a head earlier this month when Texas used state National Guard troops to block federal Border Patrol agents from accessing a 2.5-mile stretch along the border with Mexico. Following that incident, the case was brought before the Supreme Court, which ultimately decided in favor of the federal government. Last month, Border Patrol reported 300,000 encounters with illegal immigrants, representing an all-time high. While House Republicans have similarly accused Biden of facilitating an “invasion,” the Democratic majority has countered that blocking entry to asylum seekers would be “cruel” and “inhumane.” As part of a border crackdown dubbed ‘Operation Lone Star’, Abbott has sought to build barriers along the border and detained around 500,000 illegal immigrants. Texas has also bused over 97,000 migrants that the federal authorities had allowed into the country to Democrat-run jurisdictions of New York City, Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and Washington, DC. https://www.rt.com/news/591303-republican-governors-texas-border/

constitutional crisis....
BY John Miles
The fight over states’ rights versus the power of the US federal government hearkens back to the country’s 19th-century Civil War.
Activist Anthony Rogers-Wright joined Sputnik’s Political Misfits program Friday to discuss the escalating border standoff between Texas and the US federal government, a dispute that strikes at long standing controversies at the core of the country’s system of governance.
“Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has said he's just not going to comply with the order from the Biden administration to let federal Border Patrol agents access this state park, Shelby Park, on the Rio Grande,” noted host Michelle Witte, “where Texas is undertaking its own efforts to block migrants from crossing in defiance of federal law.”
Witte noted that Texas officials have apparently chosen to ignore Supreme Court orders governing the conduct of Texas National Guardsmen, employing highly emotional language claiming the state is defending against an “invasion” of migrants at the border.
“This is extremely dangerous,” said Rogers-Wright, a spokesman for the coalition Movement for Black Lives, adding that US President Joe Biden is “showing a very craven approach to this.”
“We already have a dysfunctional Supreme Court,” said Rogers-Wright, a view shared by most Americans as voters’ approval of the institution sinks to just 41%. “It seems like governmental trickle down dysfunction is working just fine here.” The activist slammed Biden’s response to the crisis, suggesting Republican candidate Donald Trump is more effectively “demonstrating leadership” through his unyielding stance on the issue.
“Joe Biden is blowing it right now with a constituency that he's not polling very well with and essentially what he's doing is kicking the can down the road,” he added, decrying the consequences of “macho men with guns getting into a heated debate in a country that already has a gun violence problem.”
“If one skirmish like that happens, oh my goodness, what would happen after that, like, nobody knows,” said Rogers-Wright. “Joe Biden's got to step up and get a handle on this immediately. It's not something that you can send Blinken to do your bidding. You got to step up now, get your butt on Air Force One, go down to Texas and handle this.”
Secession efforts in the US have never gained widespread support in modern times but the issue reverberates on a deep level as states often chafe at orders from the federal government. “Biden has to get control of it, not just because of the humanitarian aspect of it, but this is a constitutional crisis right in front of us right now,” said Rogers-Wright. “We haven't really seen anything like this since the era of Jim Crow where governors were just saying… ‘I don't care what you're saying.’ Even Eisenhower, with Little Rock, tapped into the National Guard to protect these young Black students.” Political polarization remains at an all-time high in the United States, a reality perhaps best demonstrated by the controversy over riots at the US Capitol building on January 6, 2021. As controversy remains over the disputed role of federal and state authorities in Texas observers fear tensions could boil over into a violent event, particularly if federal and state troops are forced to interact. https://sputnikglobe.com/20240126/extremely-dangerous-texas-border-battle-portends-growing-us-dysfunction-civil-war-1116420922.html READ FROM TOP. FREE JULIAN ASSANGE NOW....Texas is often seen as among the most independent-minded states in the US, previously existing as a self-governing republic from 1836 until 1846. Texan politicians occasionally raise the prospect of seceding from the United States. Similar efforts are sometimes proposed in California, and the former husband of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin previously held membership in the local Alaskan Independence Party.
blackmail reversal.....
US President Joe Biden has again urged the Republican lawmakers to agree to the long-stalled budget deal, vowing to shut down the country’s southern border as soon as he’s given the authority to do so.
Republican lawmakers have been blocking the Biden administration’s attempts to push through another $106 billion ‘national security package’ for Ukraine and Israel since October. They have demanded tougher security measures on the southern frontier to be included in the agreement.
”For too long, we all know the border’s been broken. It’s long past time to fix it,” Biden said in a written statement on Friday.
He described the border deal, now being negotiated in the Senate, as “the toughest and fairest set of reforms to secure the border we’ve ever had in our country.”
“It would give me, as President, a new emergency authority to shut down the border when it becomes overwhelmed. And if given that authority, I would use it the day I sign the bill into law,” Biden vowed.
Under the bipartisan agreement, the administration would, among other things, be required to shut the border down if the number of migrants trying to get into the US illegally on any given day reaches 5,000, the New York Times reported. This threshold had been surpassed “routinely” in recent months, the paper stressed.
Finding common ground on the immigration deal would be “a win for America,” the president insisted. “If you’re serious about the border crisis, pass a bipartisan bill, and I will sign it,” Biden said, addressing the Republican lawmakers.
The Washington Post described the comments as “a remarkable shift” in the Democratic president’s rhetoric on the immigration issue. The media outlet underscored “the urgency”of the situation on the border for his re-election bid.
Biden’s statement came as Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson said on Friday that if the leaks about the deal’s content were accurate, it would be “dead on arrival” in the lower chamber.

a distraction.....
The Texas migrant drama is a distraction: US elites will keep the border wide open
Governor Greg Abbott’s feud with US President Joe Biden might entertain voters, but it won’t stem the tide of illegal migrants
BY TONY COX
Many of the beleaguered Americans who have watched their country be overrun for decades by never-ending streams of illegal aliens were cheered up by the latest salvo in Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s border-security feud with US President Joe Biden.
It’s easy to see why. Watching the Biden administration wave in record flows of lawless migrants – with total disregard for the harms caused to American citizens – is painful, so seeing Abbott defy the federal government is soothing. Two days after the US Supreme Court upheld the federal government’s right to dismantle border barriers installed by Texas National Guard soldiers, the governor declared on Wednesday that the state’s right to self-defense “supersedes” all federal laws, so he will continue fighting the “invasion.”
The Republican governor insisted that because the Biden administration shirked its constitutional duty to defend US states against foreign invaders, Texas is filling the void to protect its own citizens. Therefore, the state troops will keep working to block the immigrant influx, regardless of what the Supreme Court says.
Republican politicians – such as US Representatives Clay Higgins and Chip Roy, Senator Ted Cruz, and Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders – cheered on Abbott’s move. Former President Donald Trump, the leading Republican candidate to face Biden in this year’s presidential election, said Texas “must be given full support to repel the invasion.” He encouraged other governors to deploy their National Guard troops to help secure the border.
Sadly, the importation of millions of illegal aliens will continue to be forced on Americans, regardless of political stunts and regardless of whether the red team or the blue team is in charge. The trend has certainly gotten far worse under Biden, but Republicans have campaigned on the immigration issue for decades without taking the obvious steps needed to secure the border.
Case in point: Republicans controlled both houses of Congress when Trump took office in 2017, but the border wall that he promised was never built. There were no mass deportations of illegal aliens. Nor were there mass arrests of the traitorous employers who enable the influx by hiring people who can’t legally work in the US. Taxpayers were forced to continue footing the bill, as always.
That’s the ruling-class expectation for law-abiding citizens: Work hard and shut up while paying for us to undercut your wages and make your communities more crowded and less safe. Those who whimper too loudly are branded with the scarlet R-word (racist).
That same ruling class will make sure that Abbott’s border maneuverings have no significant effect. The Biden administration has fought much harder to block the state’s security measures than to police the border. Despite claiming that it doesn’t have enough border agents to secure the border, the administration had plenty of manpower to rip out the concertina wire that Texas troops were using to seal off high-traffic crossing points. When Texas put floating barriers in the Rio Grande River, the administration sued the state, claiming that Abbott was endangering migrants.
The Texas National Guard has seized control of a park at a key crossing point, but Biden can simply federalize those troops to get his way, as some Democrat politicians have already suggested. He wants to ensure that Border Patrol agents can do their important work of removing the state barriers to avoid inconveniencing the immigrants who flout US law.
Biden has greased the invasion skids like no president before him. Nearly 2.48 million illegal aliens were encountered by Border Patrol agents in the government’s latest fiscal year, which ended on September 30, and there was an all-time high of more than 300,000 last month alone.
Those who are ‘encountered’ aren’t turned back. The administration has released millions of illegal immigrants and bogus ‘asylum seekers’ into the country, ostensibly to await court hearings. Those hearings won’t happen for years, or even decades, and many immigrants will simply skip them when their court date finally arrives. Millions more have come through the border as ‘gotaways’, without being ‘processed’ by the Border Patrol.
It’s no coincidence that the surge in border traffic has been accompanied by increases in child trafficking and drug trafficking. Fentanyl transported across the border by drug cartels is killing thousands of Americans every month. More than 112,000 Americans died from drug overdoses between May 2022 and May 2023, primarily from fentanyl and other synthetic opioids. At the same time, there has been a 56-fold increase in the number of Border Patrol encounters with people who had been flagged on the US terrorist watch list.
The situation has gotten so bad that Americans of all political stripes and demographic categories see it as not merely a crisis, but an invasion. A Rasmussen Reports poll released this month showed that nearly two-thirds of US voters – including 55% of Democrats – agree that the country is under invasion.
But even if Biden allows the Texas border initiative to continue, rather than forcibly breaking it up, the criminals who traffic immigrants to the US will have plenty of soft pathways still available to exploit. Many of the immigrants detained by Texas troops are reportedly just being turned over to the Border Patrol.
Abbott also has made headlines by sending busloads of illegal immigrants to Democrat-controlled cities, such as New York and Chicago. Republicans have celebrated this tactic, as it forces pro-immigration virtue signalers to get a real taste of the crisis. New York Mayor Eric Adams was so flustered that he claimed the migrant influx will “destroy” America’s largest city.
The problem is, although this is fun to watch, it’s a distraction from the fact that the border remains wide open, and shifting the consequences around the country isn’t a victory. Confuse, divide, conquer. Lather, rinse, repeat.
In any case, Texas has no legal authority to deport the millions of illegal aliens coming across the border or those already in the state. And if it did have the power to do so? Both major political parties have already demonstrated that they have no intention of removing the cheap labor favored by their donors.
The Texas-Washington DC tensions may be eased if Biden is able to cut a deal with Republican lawmakers to beef up border security. He’s seeking to trade some tough-sounding (but ineffectual) immigration measures to get Republicans to approve more than $60 billion in additional funding for another disastrous Washington project: The Ukraine proxy war.
The longer-term goal is to finally achieve the ruling-class dream of “comprehensive immigration reform,” which basically means amnesty for millions of illegal aliens already here and some fake gestures on border security.
Law-abiding citizens will continue to suffer the consequences and incur the costs, and their votes will be disenfranchised over time. Short of armed rebellion or the secession of border states (no chance), the show will go on.

dodo on arrival....
Former Democratic National Committee Chair Donna Brazile said on Sunday that she thinks Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) is afraid of embracing a deal on a border security package because Trump might then publicly oppose the legislation.
In a panel discussion on ABC News’s “This Week,” Brazile responded to Johnson’s letter to colleagues on Friday, which said a border deal would be “dead on arrival” in the Republican-led House, if reports about the terms of the deal were true.
“This speaker has a historic opportunity to get a really good, strong deal,” Brazile said, in response to Johnson’s letter. “You’re not going to get a deal if Democrats take control of the Congress next year, in terms of the House, and so why not? Go ahead and pass this bill.”
“The Senate has brokered this deal for over two months, they’ve been in negotiation. President Biden said he’s willing to sign it, but clearly what Speaker Johnson is afraid of, is the former president coming down hard and saying, ‘Don’t support it,’” she added.

soros daddy....
Billionaire currency speculator George Soros is behind at least five liberal groups seeking to flip the Republican stronghold of Texas for the Democrats in the 2024 US presidential election, Fox News reported on Sunday, citing campaign finance records.
The liberal philanthropist has contributed over $3 million to the network of political action committees. One of these, Texas Majority PAC, was solely funded by Soros and his Democracy PAC II last year, for a total of $2.25 million.
While that group had no public profile last year, it was described by local media earlier this month as a vehicle started by former staffers from the failed gubernatorial campaign of Democrat Beto O’Rourke, the former congressman whose electoral efforts first to unseat Republican Senator Ted Cruz in 2018 and then to replace incumbent Republican Governor Greg Abbott in 2022 fizzled despite setting fundraising records for the state.
A representative for the Texas Majority PAC told the Texas Tribune that the donations were meant to assist the organization in registering, contacting, and getting out the vote “on a scale never seen before, year after year in the key regions of our state.” As for finances, the group was just getting started, deputy executive director Katherine Fischer said in a statement, insisting “we need millions of more dollars and hundreds of more full-time staff to do this.”
Soros also donated at least $300,000 in the second half of 2023 to CTX Votes, apparently a reference to Concordia Texas University, $200,000 to the Dallas County Democratic PAC, and $100,000 to a group called First Tuesday that did not appear to have an online footprint.
The billionaire also gave $250,000 to the Texas Organizing Project, which he and his organizations have supported to the tune of several million dollars over the last several years and which saw one of the beneficiaries of its bail payments go on to gun down the parents he had been locked up for assaulting before it got him released.
While Texas has historically been considered a solidly Republican state, Democratic candidate Joe Biden only lost to then-incumbent Donald Trump by six points in 2020. In recent years, the state has seen a population influx of hundreds of thousands of Americans fleeing liberal strongholds like California, where skyrocketing crime and high housing costs have triggered an ongoing exodus.
Given its location on the Mexican border, Texas has also seen a significant population increase from illegal immigration. While illegals may not vote in Texas, critics of open-borders policies like those favored by Soros and his fellow travelers have accused them of inviting hordes of migrants in order to fatten their voting rolls through a variety of underhanded means.
