MEANWHILE:

by Jacques Vuillemin

After Holland and Germany, the wave of anger among farmers is shaking France.

A justified anger, as the causes are multiple.

Insufficient income, prices of agricultural diesel, red tape, unfair competition imposed by Europe with strict standards in France and in Europe and at the same time free trade treaties which import products not subject to the same standards and therefore less expensive.

Such anger in the agricultural world will not be calmed with words and promises but with courageous decisions.

A few months before the European elections, this anger will weigh on the debates, the issues and affect the future of Europe.

What Europe do we want?

A sovereign Europe in the field of food, which defends and protects its agriculture?

OR

A Europe subject to free trade treaties that mistreats its agriculture?

A strong France in a strong Europe or a submissive Europe?

At the beginning of everything, there is will.

under siege....

By:NEWS WIRES

For days, nationwide protests have flared in Europe's largest agriculture producer, with farmers angered in part by red tape and environmental policies they say are hurting their bottom lines and rendering them unable to compete with less stringent neighbours.

Across France, farmers have used tractors and trucks to block roads and jam traffic. They plan to step up their pressure campaign by establishing eight chokepoints along the major arteries to Paris on Monday afternoon.

The government plans to mobilise 15,000 police and paramilitary gendarmes in response, with the forces told to show "moderation".

"We don't intend to allow government buildings, or tax collection buildings, or grocery stores to be damaged or trucks transporting foreign produce to be stopped. Obviously, that is unacceptable," French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin said ahead of the planned siege.

He said President Emmanuel Macron had instructed the security operation to ensure both Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport to the north and Orly to the south remain open, and the Rungis international wholesale food market south of Paris continues to operate.

Police and gendarmes are also under orders to prevent any incursion into Paris itself, said Darmanin.

macron's cul bouseux....

French farmers stormed into a Paris agricultural fair before a planned visit by President Emmanuel Macron, protesting over costs and regulations. Shouting demands for Macron's resignation, they clashed with police, leading to at least one arrest. The protests come amidst wider discontent across Europe's farming community.

French President Emmanuel Macron urged farmers to remain calm after a small group disrupted France's annual agricultural fair on Saturday.

Tractors drove into Paris, leading to clashes between a dozen farmers and police at the fairground.

"I urge everyone to stay calm," Macron said after meeting with farmers' unions, stressing that violence only hinders progress.

Addressing the agricultural crisis, he insisted that resolving tensions would take time and could not be achieved overnight.

"The agricultural crisis cannot be solved in a few hours. It won't be resolved during this fair," the French president said as quoted by Politico.

Macron canceled a debate with farmers' unions and environmental groups following controversy over the invitation of a climate activist group — which he has vehemently denied extending.

Despite that, Macron engaged in spontaneous discussions with farmers and pledged to strengthen controls on fair food pricing negotiations at both national and European levels. He emphasized the importance of Europe maintaining its agricultural strength while transitioning to more sustainable models.

Macron also announced emergency financial support for struggling farms and scheduled a meeting with agricultural representatives in three weeks to solidify measures and commitments for future agricultural progress.
