Western Powers Would Approve Almost Any Crimes Ukraine May Commit

 

One example is the silence of Ukraine's illegal use of anti-personnel mines that was outlawed by the 1999 Mine Ban Treaty.

The West is likely to forgive any crimes committed by the Kiev regime as part of actions against Russia, argued Boris Rozhin, a military expert with independent Russian military affairs think tank the Center for Military-Political Journalism.

In one example, Rozhin pointed to Kiev's illegal use of anti-personnel mines.

The 1999 Convention on the Prohibition of the Use, Stockpiling, Production and Transfer of Anti-Personnel Mines and on their Destruction, commonly known as the Ottawa Treaty or simply the Mine Ban Treaty, was ratified by Ukraine at the time.

This convention essentially prohibits the countries that signed it from using anti-personnel land mines.

Since the escalation of the Ukrainian conflict in 2022 and despite this treaty, the regime in Kiev has employed anti-personnel mines in its combat operations, including the use of these munitions against population centers in the Donetsk People’s Republic. These actions have not roused a blink from Western politicians.

“So whatever crimes it (Ukraine) might commit, all of them would be approved,” Rozhin said, adding that the especially outrageous crimes that the West would be unable to openly approve of, would likely be “curbed on the media level.”

 

 

“There is no reason to believe that the West would somehow condemn or protest against such use (of landmines) by Ukraine,” he continued. “On the contrary, the West supplies (Kiev) even with the kind of anti-personnel mines that are being used against civilians, and it is approved by the Western leadership.”

 

Referring to the fact that Washington turns a blind eye to its allies’ use of weapons banned by international treaties – such as, for example, the use of anti-personnel mines by Ukraine or the use of white phosphorous munitions by Israel – Rozhin explained that “essentially, none of the international treaties work today.”

Considering that the usual ration of injured in such wars is 3 to one dead, the number of maimed Ukrainian soldiers would be about 1.2 million — but because THE UKRAINE MILITARY TENDS TO LEAVE THE INJURED BEHIND TO DIE, this figure of injured should be revised to around 800,000. The Ukrainian military loses about 900 soldiers PER DAY.

ON THE RUSSIAN SIDE, it is harder to know, BUT the figures are about 35,000 to 45,000 dead soldiers and 80,000 injured unable to return to the front. Some days the ratio is 100 Ukrainian troops killed for ONE Russian. 

In the meat grinder of Artyomovsk (Bakhmut) the ratio was one in four. Ukraine lost 85,000 troops for Russia’s 20,000 of which 15,000 were convicts fighting for Wagner.

Now in regard to the justification for the “war” (Military Intervention), PUTIN IS ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF HISTORY.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has accused his NATO sponsors of playing “internal political games” instead of providing critical arms assistance to Kiev, warning that “the world will remember” such a betrayal. Sputnik reached out to a pair of veteran US military experts for a read on the implications of Zelensky’s comments.

“Ukraine asked for nothing more than necessary to protect lives,” Zelensky complained in a video address Saturday night, commenting on the deadly results of a purported Russian drone strike in Odessa.

“When lives are lost, and partners are simply playing internal political games or disputes that limit our defense, it’s impossible to understand. It’s unacceptable. And it will be impossible to forget – the world will remember this,” the politician said.

Zelensky’s remarks come against the backdrop of the continued deadlock in Washington over a $61 billion multiyear Ukraine arms aid package, and the commitment of a paltry $4.5 billion by European NATO powers France and Germany, as the Ukrainian crisis enters its eleventh year. The figures are a far cry from the $125 billion+ delivered to Kiev over the past two years for the proxy war against Russia, which haven’t helped Kiev reach its objectives during last summer’s disastrous counteroffensive to try and oust Russian forces from the Donbass, Kherson, Zaporozhye and Crimea.

 

Deadly Blame Game

“Ukraine’s 2023 offensive was a failure for a variety of reasons including a lack of arms and ammunition, but also due to poorly trained forces and a poorly conceived operational plan,” former US Marine and independent geopolitical analyst Brian Berletic told Sputnik.

“What weapons and ammunition Ukraine did receive were not in quantities necessary for outfighting Russian forces or breaking through Russian defenses. Certain types of capabilities like military aviation, longer-range munitions, additional air defense systems, and electronic warfare capabilities were not even provided ahead of the offensive. Each of these are essential for carrying out the type of offensive operation Ukraine sought to carry out. Even if Ukraine was provided with more types of systems or greater quantities of the systems they have already been provided, deficiencies in trained manpower would remain a serious obstacle for any future offensive,” Berletic said.

Retired US Army Lt. Col. and international consultant Earl Rasmussen agrees, saying Zelensky’s apparent shift in rhetoric is an attempt “divert the blame” for a counteroffensive that “should have never taken place,” “just like this conflict should never have taken place.”

“The Russians had established a multi-tier, defensive lines, dug in, had superiority as far as artillery, as far as air defense. There was no air support capable to be even provided to Ukraine. Manpower as well as another factor there. It was an impossible task. It should never have happened,” Rasmussen said, adding that “the number of weapons didn’t really matter” because it was a strategic dead end from the start.

Secrets and Lies. NATO’s Role in Ukraine Is as Sleazy as the EU’s    BY Martin Jay

 

Did Jens Stoltenberg really say that he had recently given “permission” to Ukraine to use F-16 fighter jets there in the war against Russia? If so, we can add it to the list of bumbling, buffoonish Freudian slips that he has chalked up himself while in office. But it does at least give us a glimpse of how western elites are no longer bothering to even cover up the fact that the war in Ukraine has, in reality, very little to do with Ukraine but rather is a much bigger war fought by the West against Russia.

Yet the whole issue about F-16s in Ukraine will be shrouded in lies, doublespeak and fake news. The real story of these outdated fighter jets from the Netherlands – some might call a bribe to Biden to secure the Dutch prime minister as next NATO boss – will probably never be known. Journalists who even want to ask who will really fly these planes – Ukrainians or U.S. pilots – will never get a straight answer but be fobbed off with the normal NATO ‘secrets and lies’ which are what we have all come to understand is the normal modus operandi for this so-called defence organisation. Timing is critical. Does Ukraine have the 6 months minimum time that Ukrainian pilots will need just to fly them, following intensive training? It’s a good bet that we will see them operational by the end of the summer with contracted, retired U.S. air force pilots flying them though – probably not in dogfight scenarios as they are no match for the newer Su-35s which Russia has – used in air to ground attacks. Of course, such a shift in strategy will lead Russia to target Ukrainian airfields, which some analysts are reporting is already happening but in reality, like so many decisions taken by NATO, this latest is just the latest in a long line of miscalculations. These 20-year old planes are going to be a real prize for Russia to shoot out of the skies like ducks on a Sunday afternoon. Pity the pilots who will be in their cockpits as they are on a suicide mission.

The truth though will be very hard to get to with the F-16s. NATO will have already its fake news ready for the suppliant journalists ready to oblige.

It’s a similar story with a recent statement by Zelensky himself who claimed that something like 30,000 Ukrainians so far had died in battle. Did he forget a zero there reading from his notes? Did too much cocaine affect his vision? Was it a joke?

No, it was no joke. Just more fake news dutifully processed by corrupt western media who don’t have journalists among them even capable of questioning the statement.

However, the reason why the numbers of dead Ukrainian soldiers is such a polemic is interesting. You might be forgiven for thinking that if the real figure of at least 300,000 dead Ukrainians were to be admitted, that this would have a political consequence for Zelensky himself. And this would be true within a democratic context. But Zelensky has shut down all media that doesn’t replicate his propaganda, eliminated all opposition parties so it’s hardly likely anyone is going to question this ludicrous figure of 30,000 or so. In reality there is a much more salacious, if not mercurial reason why he needs to stick to this work of fiction: graft.

What is not at all reported, even alluded to, is the racket being run by senior army officers close to him who are drawing the salaries of dead soldiers – and how the West turns a blind eye, once again, to this particular scam involving millions of dollars of western aid. Recently the EU agreed to send to Kiev 12.5 billion euros a year in cash for public sector salaries. Given the racket going on over dead soldiers salaries, this makes Brussels complicit in money laundering. Would it be far fetched to assume that senior EU officials are receiving kickbacks, in return? Given Ursula von der Leyen’s murky dealings with Pfizer and the recent news that she is to evade any scrutiny for another 5 years in office, assuming her corrupt friends in the EU support her second term, it becomes clear what the EU and NATO’s objectives are in Ukraine of late: just keep the machine turning over and Zelensky in power. The Ukraine war is not a charitable case, as some western leaders would like you to believe. It is not even about protecting the so-called values of the west, as no one really believes the bullshit that Putin is going to invade other EU countries once his tanks reach Kiev after the country inevitably collapses when the army surrenders or occupies itself with a civil war. Ukraine war is a racket and NATO is part of it, as is the EU elite. No one works for nothing and we should be very suspicious about Boris Johnson turning up in Kiev to lend his support to Zelensky. Is he on the latter’s payroll for PR services? Probably. Will any journalists ask this or file ‘freedom of information’ requests to even clarify who paid for the trip (as anyone who knows Boris, knows he has no cash)? Of course not.

Vladimir Zelensky [LITTLE SHITHEAD] announced an audit of the Ukrainian troops, during which a “shortage” of 700 thousand mobilized military personnel was revealed. The Washington Post indicates that Kyiv still cannot understand where these people went.

The day before, Advisor to the Office of the Ukrainian President Mikhail Podolyak noted that there are 200-300 thousand soldiers on the contact line. The total number of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reaches 1 million people.

At the same time, Alexander Syrsky, who was appointed to the post of commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian troops instead of Valery Zaluzhny about a month ago, has not yet been able to understand the situation and find out everything about the size of his army.

Almost a month after his appointment, no one in the military leadership or administration has explained where these 700 thousand people are or what they are doing- WP was surprised.

Western experts have expressed the view that the lack of personnel in Ukrainian formations is a “strategic crisis,” while neither Zelensky nor his curators are trying to ignore the growth rate of cemeteries throughout Ukraine.

An unfavorable phenomenon against this background is the increase in the number of refuseniks and deserters in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In order to at least partially resolve the situation, disabled people of groups II and III may be drafted into the army . They are expected to be able to engage in work not directly related to combat.

An arrest warrant for senior Russian military commanders issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) is null and void, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said, as Moscow does not recognize The Hague-based tribunal.

On Tuesday, the ICC accused Lieutenant-General Sergey Kobylash of the Long-Range Aviation fleet and Admiral Viktor Sokolov of Russia’s Black Sea fleet of “war crimes.”

The tribunal claimed that the officers were responsible for “directing attacks at civilian objects,” causing “excessive incidental harm to civilians.”

According to the statement, Kobylash and Sokolov were complicit in a barrage “against the Ukrainian electric infrastructure from at least October 10, 2022 until at least March 9, 2023.”

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Peskov noted that Russia is not a party to the Rome Statute that established the ICC in the first place, and “does not recognize” the court’s authority.

He said this was not the first ICC ruling targeting Russian officials. “We also know that there are different closed processes underway that are kept secret,” he added.

Last March, the ICC issued arrest warrants for Russian President Vladimir Putin and Commissioner for Children’s Rights Maria Lvova-Belova for allegedly participating in the “unlawful” deportation of Ukrainian children to Russia.

Moscow also declared that decision null and void, arguing that children had been evacuated from frontline regions in the interest of safety. It maintains that any children who found themselves on Russian territory would be returned to their parents or legal guardians on demand.

In response to the ICC ruling, Moscow opened a criminal investigation into several prosecutors behind the charges, saying they had knowingly accused an innocent person of a crime, with the tribunal’s president Piotr Hofmanski also later appearing on Russia’s wanted list.

The latest accusations by the ICC apparently refer to Russia’s campaign targeting Ukrainian energy infrastructure, which began in 2022 following Kiev’s terrorist bombing of the strategic Crimean Bridge on October 8 of the same year. While Ukrainian officials initially denied their involvement, they later acknowledged that they were indeed behind the attack, which they said had sought to undermine Russia’s logistics.

Ukrainian children who returned from Russia to Ukraine are eager to move back to Russia. The executive director of the Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union, Aleksandr Pavlichenko, was interviewed on the subject by the Ukrainian TV channel Kiev 24.

“Some children who came from Russian-held territories, having returned to Ukraine, are eager to return to Russia. They believe that they will have better living conditions there, and they see themselves being more fulfilled there.

This is a problem because the inclusion of children in an active social life in our Ukrainian society should give them a better quality of life, and advantages over what can be offered to them by the Russian Federation. The “carrot policy” works very strongly on the territory of the Russian Federation, and we should not forget this”.

“A new problem has manifested itself in Ukraine; children. These are very children who, according to Ukrainian propaganda, were stolen from the territory of Ukraine. These were the children on whose behalf the International Criminal Court in The Hague issued arrest warrants for Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights, Maria Lvova-Belova, accusing them of the “mass export of Ukrainian children”.

His words arise in the context of strict censorship in Ukraine, when even hints about Russia in a positive context are strictly forbidden, and thus surprised everyone. The Western public, when reading heartbreaking articles about children being forcibly taken to Russia, would have never given a thought to the ethnicity of the children, what language they spoke and where they were taken. The aim of Ukrainian propaganda was to cast Russia in an evil light before the whole world, as a thief of children and destroyer of the civilian population. For a while, it worked, but these revelations contradict the story.
