The President, like an orchestral conductor, has the primary mission of ensuring that all elements comprising his or her government must play in concert. That is another word for, “harmony.” Let me put it kindly, Joe Biden is no Herbert von Karajan, famed conductor of the Vienna and Berlin Philharmonics. He is not even a campy Spike Jones. It would appear that John Hiatt had Biden in mind when he penned these lyrics:

But the master of disaster
Gets tangled in his Telecaster
He can’t play it any faster
When he plays the blues
When he had the heart to ask her
And every note just shook the plaster
Now he’s just a mean old bastard
When he plays the blues

Biden is the Master of Disaster. So, what else is new Captain Obvious? The Biden Administration is sending alarming mixed signals about its policy towards using U.S. supplied missiles to strike targets inside Russia. I know for a fact that some key people in the Russian media are confused. I received the following inquiry from a reporter with Izvestia:

Today at a regular briefing, Pentagon spokeswoman Sabrina Singh said the White House policy has not changed and they insist that Ukraine can succeed using weapons within its borders without striking Russian territory. Later, Politicopublished an article citing an anonymous source as saying that Biden secretly authorized the Ukrainians to strike Russia with the provided weapons.

What does all this mean? Why such disunity and different positions? How can such a decision be evaluated at all?

My reply was simply, “they are incompetent.” The visible chaos in the Biden Administration might be entertaining if this was a Monty Python sketch, or an old Saturday Night Live bit with Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi. But it isn’t. These clowns are playing with genuine nuclear fire.

Let me posit a scenario — Donald Trump is President and, after repeated refusals by the Mexican Government to stop the flow of fentanyl into the U.S., orders U.S. forces to cross the border and wipe out the drug cartels. Responding to this move, Russia moves openly to supply the Government of Mexico with cruise missiles, capable of striking American cities like Austin, San Antonio, Albuquerque and Phoenix. And let’s assume that Mexico launches those missiles and hits military bases in and around those cities. What do you think the American people would demand as a response? Leave Russia alone? I don’t think so.

That is how the Biden Administration and many of the NATO members are behaving. They are making incredibly belligerent and stupid threats and the Russians, not just Putin, are taking notice and stiffening their spines for a tough response if the West follows through on these threats.

Worth noting that Western weapons systems have been used for more than a year to hit targets inside Russia — Belgorod in particular. But Russia has taken it in stride while choosing, instead, to press its advantage on the battlefield and destroy Ukraine’s electric power system.

The danger of making threats to attack Russia’s strategic radar system, which is critical to detecting a hostile nuclear launch, is that Russian leaders do not have the luxury of delaying action and seeing how things play out. Western miscalculation could provoke the Russians into taking pre-emptive action, by launching tactical nukes.

The West’s reckless talk and incitement of Ukraine to launch strikes further inside Russia, going well beyond the immediate border region, is one more indicator that the West is in a full-blown panic. Its plan to dismantle and destroy Russia is in a shambles. When CNN issues a report declaring the M1 Abrams tank is a turkey, you begin to grasp the scope of the unfolding disaster.
