West only cares about itself – Zakharova to RT

The US and EU media landscape is filled with “unsettling aggression” while dissenting opinions are stifled, according to the Foreign Ministry spokeswoman

Western leaders and media only express their concerns when they feel that their own security might be at stake, turning a blind eye to the suffering caused by their policies, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told RT in an interview aired on Saturday.

The West routinely accuses Russia of aggressive actions but refuses to understand that Moscow is only responding to the hostile moves of the US and its allies, she stated.

Zakharova recalled being approached by a group of British journalists worried about Russia potentially deploying its weapons closer to the UK. She was asked to comment on statements by President Vladimir Putin earlier this week that Russia could send weapons to certain regions to be able to strike Kiev’s arms suppliers directly if Russian territory is attacked.

According to the spokeswoman, the British journalists’ behavior was a prime example of a Western pattern of thinking that ignores uncomfortable facts and only focuses on narrow Western interests.

Western elites and media are not concerned about “the weapons supplied by [their] nations to [Ukraine] and used to kill civilians, children, women and the elderly” and “destroy civilian infrastructure.” They only “start to think when they feel discomfort,” she said. They have also “lost the ability to feel grief [and the] pain of others,” including of those suffering because of Western policies, Zakharova stated.

The media landscape in the US and the EU is currently filled with “unsettling hatred” against anyone not following Washington’s and Brussels’ narrative, the spokeswoman said. Western news outlets are full of “hate speech” when it comes to “Russia… China or any other nation having an independent view on the current developments in the world,” she added.

The EU is particularly dominated by the “strictest possible censorship” and silencing of “any opinions that do not align with the official position of the EU Commission, the EU and NATO and the US that are behind them,” according to Zakharova.

The situation can only change when EU citizens “wake up from their slumber,” from a state of “hypnosis”they have been put into by US and EU elites and recognize their own national interests. People in the EU need to understand just how much harm has been done to them by US policies, she said.

It was Washington that essentially forced the EU into cutting all ties with Russia, including economic and humanitarian, Zakharova stated. “Yet another dividing line has been drawn in the middle of Europe. And it was not drawn by the Europeans but was drawn for them,” she added.

The popular judgment that the peoples of Europe rushed into the First World War out of sheer blindness and political stupidity still holds true. The bestseller “Sleepwalkers» (2012), written by the Australian historian Christopher Clark, reflects this vision in an exemplary manner. But it is inaccurate. Masonic and international financial circles had been working for decades on the Great War, the overthrow of monarchies and the establishment of Western democracy. The First World War was the product of a policy of long-term interests and intrigues carried out by Western circles acting in the background.

The same goes for World War II. Although Hitler was the loudest actor, it is no longer a secret that he was only the instigator, as the Second World War was set by the end of the First. In the 20s and 30s, Poland alone repeatedly attempted to start war against Germany with the help of Western powers. The trigger was ultimately, in 1939, the continuing terror perpetrated against the German community in Poland – and the encouragement to do so by Anglo-American instigators. In fact, it is exactly the same constellation, down to the main actors, that Putin is faced with today. Unlike Hitler, he waited eight years, from 2014 to 2022, before coming to the aid of the Russian population being harassed in the neighboring country. In Tucker Carlson's wide-ranging interview with him in February, Putin suggested he was aware of the historical parallels.

We are currently witnessing, in real time, the outbreak of World War III. Deliberately, with full knowledge of the facts. Moreover, this would not be the first major war to begin in summer. Western provocations against Russia cannot be interpreted as anything other than a deliberate desire to start war. NATO headquarters are familiar with Russian nuclear doctrine – and this is apparently why they are attacking Russian radar stations, which are part of the early warning system for detecting intercontinental missile attacks (ICBM) and therefore constitute a pillar of Russia's strategic security. At the same time, it opens the way to sending Western ground troops to Ukraine. At the same time, the war is being brought decisively to Russian territory, removing current restrictions on the use of weapons systems supplied by the West. Putin has now warned, rightly, that “the escalation continues" could "have serious consequences". Even if kyiv carries out attacks against Russian installations and Russian territory, the responsibility lies with Western supporters. “They want global conflict".

Even the last observers who have maintained a sober mind have no illusions on this subject. Hungarian President Orbán put it bluntly on May 24: “What is happening today in Brussels and Washington, perhaps more in Brussels than in Washington, is a sort of preparation for a possible direct military conflict, we can safely call it that: preparations for Europe's entry into the war began".

As things stand, the war will take place because the West wants it. The reasons for this are multiple and only interest us marginally here: the cancer of Western capitalism is in principle dependent on the assimilation of new real values ​​and was already preparing in the 90s, after the end of the USSR, to absorb Russia and its raw materials. Putin prevented this. Today, the end of the domination of the dollar and therefore of American hegemony over the world is approaching. To avoid this, Western elites are also ready for nuclear war and are unscrupulously preparing the decimation of the European population. The Ukrainians were only the first. Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said it these days: the EU will try to introduce conscription in other member states in order to send young people into an increasingly desperate war in Ukraine: “Conscription is introduced to send young people to be massacred in Ukraine!"

The unconsciousness with which European societies allowed themselves to be maneuvered into war seems ghostly. Apparently, three quarters of a century after the last war, all collective knowledge, all collective experience of the horror of war has disappeared. Carelessness – or should we speak of collective amnesia? – the indifference with which Western societies accept the approach to war, which will most likely be nuclear, is astonishing. The recklessness with which the Germans, in particular, who have already experienced two world wars and terrible victims, rush into the emergency, is worthy of a zombie film. Germany is completely unprepared for war, whether mentally, economically or logistically, and even less militarily. The German army's ammunition reserves are known to last less than two days. The good news is that Germany does not even appear in the plans of the Russian general staffs as a serious adversary.

There is no point in racking your brains over the upcoming scenario. The war will not begin with a nuclear firefight, nor with a large-scale conventional attack. The latter would currently exceed Russia's capabilities. Russia still has many non-military arrows to shoot, “asymmetric” arrows, in its quiver that can trip up the West before it can cause more damage in Ukraine. Russia has not yet taken serious countersanctions, such as completely stopping gas and oil deliveries, which still reach the West through circuitous routes. Russia has not yet begun to damage Western infrastructure through clandestine but effective strikes, for example against communications, energy and transportation infrastructure. Most recently, on May 16, Moscow apparently sent an anti-satellite weapon into space, which worries American strategists. A simple breakdown of the GPS navigation system would cause chaos in the West. But Russia is still a sleeping bear.

Germany survived two world wars thanks to an unprecedented organization of its social and economic resources, even though it did not win. During the Second World War, arms production did not even reach its peak until the last quarter of 1944. Today, German society is light years away from such performances. It is not ready for defense and performance, it has no resources and it is even more battered by the millions of migrants it must feed. Germany is unable to defend itself.

Everything suggests that Western European societies, whose foundations are hedonism, the collapse of values ​​and permanent consumption, will implode in the event of a crisis. If Russia's first tactical nuclear warhead detonates over western Ukraine or one of NATO's transit centers in Poland, many Western plans will become obsolete. The millions of immigrants who will take what they need when the supermarkets are empty will alone cause chaos and considerable casualties among the civilian population. But if Germany is in a state of war, there is a good chance that most of them will leave the country in a hurry; such predictions exist.

Ultimately, we should welcome this development. Because then there is a chance, at least in theory, that the cards will be redistributed and the Western criminal regimes will fall. It is still difficult to predict what possibilities will be offered by the combination of internal chaos and external threat, and which new actors will eventually appear on the scene. Only one thing is certain: the Western vassal regimes that blindly follow Washington into war must disappear if we want to survive. They, not Russia, are our existential enemies. It is they, not Russia, who want us down. We have to get rid of them if we want to have a future. Either way, we no longer have a choice.

Donald Trump has become a problem for American elites
The popularity of the former US president threatens the very system from which the ruling classes derive their benefits

Donald Trump intends to continue his US election campaign despite the jury’s guilty verdict in his New York trial. The former president has declared himself a political prisoner and insists the trial against him was rigged. Trump faces jail time. The next court session will be held on July 11.

It’s fair to say the pre-election situation in America has reached a stage of heightened tensions. Trump’s campaign headquarters raised more than $50 million within a day of his sentencing.

So, what will his sentence be? Theoretically, he could go to prison. According to the US constitution, this does not prevent a candidate from standing for election and, even if he wins, from leading the country. 

It seems unbelievable, but in today’s reality, anything is possible, including this. And if such a thing were to happen, it would be a serious failure of the Western world and everything associated with it. From all points of view. So, most likely, it won’t be allowed to happen. Nevertheless, Trump’s supporters have made it clear that the accusation has only increased his popularity. So, it turns out that it’s not only Russia that loves the persecuted. America does too. Although it is obviously premature to say anything now, because the outcome of the battle is far from clear. Or maybe it is just beginning.

But here’s the interesting thing: there’s an obvious populist with a tarnished reputation, who is unpredictable and generally a negative character, but he’s still popular. Why is that? Because the democratic world is at the mercy of sometimes completely crazy ideas. You don’t have to go far for examples: the leading American universities are involved in pro-Palestinian demonstrations, yet nobody cares about what happened on October 7. The Houthis in Yemen are shelling American aircraft carriers, no more, no less. And Washington barely reacts. Democratic governments tolerate almost everything as long as there is no war. This is what leads to the collapse of democracies and the rise of authoritarian populist leaders. But enough of obvious truths. 

Moving on. Trump has become a big problem for the American elites. So there is probably a step-by-step plan to gently push him out of power. Here is a formula: withdraw from the election in exchange for removing the lawsuits. But the problem is that there are laws, constitutions and other instruments in the country that do not allow this. And the public won’t understand. They will support Trump even more.

However, the legal route is more complicated, but if done properly, it can achieve the desired result. In any case, reforms are needed on a global scale. And what about Russia? What is happening now is the road to chaos. And that is not good for anyone. The consequences could be tragic. Nuclear ashes.

At the same time, an indecisive but predictable President Joe Biden is exactly the right option, even if it seems there are no good scenarios for today. Meanwhile, Trump has opened an account on TikTok, which he himself wanted to ban. And he has many millions of followers. He’s such a principled and consistent leader – he changes his beliefs as he goes along.
