Just days after the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump, theories are flying from all directions. Many who ridiculed the “conspiracy theories” of conservatives are now suggesting the whole event was a set-up to boost Trump in the polls ahead of the election. Others suggest it was the “deep state” or even foreign actors who organized it.

Former US Navy Seal and founder of Blackwater, Erik Prince, claims that “The fact that [the Secret Service] allowed a rifle armed shooter within 150 yds to a preplanned event is either malice or massive incompetence.” He went on to observe that, “unaccountable bloated bureaucracies continue to fail us as Americans,” adding that “unserious and unworthy people in positions of authority got us to this near disaster. Merit and execution must be the only deciding factors in hiring and leadership, not the social engineering priority of the day.”

Video has emerged showing that for at least two minutes law enforcement knew someone with a gun was on a roof aiming at the former President and no one communicated the need to pull Trump from the stage. You can clearly hear the crowd warning law enforcement that someone was on the roof. Yet he was unhindered until the first shots rang out.

Considering this fact, Erik Prince has a point.

If this is like any previous governmental foul-ups, we can expect hearings, investigations, and commissions that will actually serve to hide the official errors or even malicious intent by some in the government. That’s what government does no matter who is in office: protect itself from actual scrutiny and resist being exposed as incompetent or worse.

But what if there was a genuine investigation that actually revealed the truth about what happened at the Trump rally over the weekend? Could we rely on the mainstream media to even report it? This is the same media that, after Trump was clearly shot on live television, reported “Trump escorted away after loud noises at PA rally.” (Washington Post). And “Secret Service rushes Trump offstage after he falls at rally.” (CNN).

This is the same mainstream media that has been comparing Donald Trump to Hitler for years, and now pretends to be shocked that their vile rhetoric ended up in violence. There is a good reason why the mainstream media is regarded by the American public with record levels of contempt.

The current Director of the Secret Service has been interviewed expressing her dedication to “diversity” in hiring agents. What if her dedication to DEI goals led to an agency that is more “diverse” but fails at its core mission? Can we rely on the media to inform us of this? Or will they, as usual, just blame it all on the Second Amendment?

What if the problem with the Secret Service is that it was moved into the bloated, incompetent, and menacing Department  of Homeland Security, the creation of which I strongly opposed when I was in Congress?

We shouldn’t count on hearing the truth about the attempted assassination from the mainstream media. No wonder the elites remain determined to censor social media sites like Twitter/X and TikTok. We live in an empire of lies, propped up by the mainstream media. And seeking the truth in this empire of lies is the greatest challenge for us in the moral bankruptcy in which we live.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump was nearly killed due to a “failure” of his Secret Service protection detail, US Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has said.

Trump was speaking at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday when he narrowly dodged a bullet that took off a part of his ear. One person in the stands was killed, and two others were seriously wounded before the Secret Service neutralized the gunman.

”An incident like this cannot happen,” Mayorkas told CNN on Monday. “When I say that something like this cannot happen, we are speaking of a failure.”

“We are going to analyze, through an independent review, how that occurred, why it occurred, and make recommendations and findings to ensure it doesn’t happen again,” he added.

Trump’s protection detail has been criticized for its response to the Butler attack, from failing to notice the shooter on a roof about 120 meters away to being too slow to cover their protectee once the shots were fired.

Trump himself thanked the Secret Service for protecting him and called on the White House to grant a detail to RFK Jr., an independent candidate. President Joe Biden did so on Monday afternoon.

The Secret Service has been under Homeland Security since 2003. The agency was originally created during the Civil War to investigate currency counterfeiting. Its duties were expanded to include protecting presidents in 1901.

Secret Service agents are currently tasked with protecting the sitting president and vice president from the moment they are elected, as well as former presidents, officials in the line of succession, and major presidential and VP candidates, along with their immediate families.

Republican lawmakers have demanded an investigation into the Butler attack. Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle has said the agency will cooperate with both the congressional investigations and the White House’s independent review.

Thomas M. Crooks, the 20-year-old identified as the would-be assassin, had climbed onto the roof of a building directly in the line of sight of where Trump was speaking. Although locals who spotted him alerted police, it took several minutes for law enforcement to react.

On Monday evening, it emerged that the building from which Crooks shot was the staging area for the local police tactical team. This was reported by ABC News, citing law enforcement sources. The revelation raises even more questions about how the assassin managed to get into position unhindered.

Protection for Donald Trump was boosted several weeks ago after US authorities learned of an Iranian plot to kill him, according to national security officials. 

Officials say there is no known connection between the Iranian plot and the assassination attempt on the former president on Saturday in Pennsylvania.

However, the disclosure that security had been tightened raises further questions over how Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, was able to climb a building and get close enough to fire at Trump. 

The US Secret Service and the Trump campaign were notified of the Iranian threat, and security was increased as a result, according to a US national security official. 

Intelligence sources told CBS, the BBC's US news partner, that the Secret Service bolstered security in June in response to the Iranian threat. This included extra counter-assault and counter-sniper agents, drones and robotic dogs.

The details of a potential Iranian operation were obtained through "human source intelligence", according to the CBS, and came amid a notable increase in Iranian chatter regarding attacks against Trump.

Trump and officials including his former secretary of state, Mike Pompeo, have faced threats from Tehran since ordering the drone strike assassination of Qassim Soleimani, the commander of Iran's Quds force, in Iraq in 2020.

Based on reports coming out late today, it looks like Chris nailed it. The local police had a three-man SWAT element inside the building where the shooter, who was on the roof, was located. That created some confusion for the counter snipers who were observing the shooter crawling up on the roof. We will have to wait for the communications to be released to know exactly what was said — the counter snipers probably were trying to confirm if the guy they were seeing was part of the group inside the building. 

Still, this is a major screw up. There should have been a Rule of Engagement (ROE) in place stipulating that no friendlies would be on the roof. Or, maybe, the SWAT element was supposed to be on the roof and wimped out because of the heat. I stand by my original assertion — this was either major incompetence or something darker. 

There is a document circulating on the web, allegedly written by one of the counter sniper’s, claiming he was not given permission to shoot. I have heard from other sources I trust that this is a fabrication. Again, we will have to wait until that man is brought before Congress and testifies under oath. Does not matter, though. Donald Trump is alive and kicking.

Volodymyr Zelensky and his backers in the Biden administration would do whatever it takes to destroy those advocating a peaceful settlement in Ukraine, the Other Ukraine movement's Council Chair Viktor Medvedchuk warned Trump.

Attacks on politicians advocating negotiations and peace in Ukraine have become a worrisome trend, Viktor Medvedchuk, a Ukrainian opposition politician and chairman of the council of the Other Ukraine movement, wrote in an open letter to Donald Trump, the US Republican frontrunner.

"The terrorist [shooter of Trump], whoever he is, was clearly not a lone wolf," Medvedchuk noted. "On the campaign trail, you [Trump] have repeatedly stated that you will be able to bring peace to the long-suffering Ukrainian land. But this peace means the loss of power by the [Volodymyr] Zelensky [neo-] Nazi regime and its American handlers in the Biden administration."

"It is because of this, dear Mr. Trump, that you have become a personal enemy of Ukrainian neo-Nazi Zelensky, this scoundrel would do whatever it takes to prevent you from winning the presidential election. I think that a Ukrainian trace will appear in the attempted murder case."

Medvedchuk drew attention to the fact that a day before the assassination attempt, the chief of Ukraine's Main Directorate of Intelligence Kyrylo Budanov bragged to the Ukrainian press that there had been several attempts, "albeit unsuccessful so far," to kill Russian President Vladimir Putin.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) - The US House Committee on Homeland Security has issued a subpoena to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for documents regarding the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump after the department failed to comply with requests for information.

"Today, House Committee on Homeland Security Chairman Mark E. Green, MD (R-TN) subpoenaed Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for documents and information regarding the failed security efforts surrounding the attempted July 13 assassination of former President Donald Trump in Pennsylvania," said the House Committee chairman Mark Green said in a release on Friday.

The committee initially requested documents and information in a letter on July 14 regarding DHS's planning for the July 13 rally where Trump was wounded in addition to information regarding their immediate response to the attempt on the former president's life by July 19. Part of the requests included the security plan for the event's perimeter, including the building from which the shooter made an attempt on Trump's life.

“The Department of Homeland Security has failed to properly satisfy our requests for documents and information regarding the security efforts to prevent and respond to the assassination attempt on President Trump–and the piecemeal information it has provided over phone calls is woefully inadequate. In order for this Committee to conduct proper oversight over DHS and the U.S. Secret Service, the department and agency must cooperate," Green added.

On Saturday, a 20-year-old man tried to assassinate Trump at a campaign rally in the state of Pennsylvania, but the bullet from the gunman's AR assault rifle grazed Trump's right ear. US Secret Service agents killed the gunman moments after he was able to fire several rounds toward the stage, killing one spectator and critically injuring two others.
