the trump team needed a far more intelligent woman than kamala: tulsi is a serious deal....Former Democratic Rep. Tulsi Gabbard has endorsed Donald Trump’s presidential bid, furthering her shift away from the party she sought to represent four years ago and linking herself to the GOP nominee’s critiques of Vice President Kamala Harris and the chaotic Afghanistan War withdrawal. Appearing Monday with Trump in Detroit, Gabbard, a National Guard veteran who served two tours of duty in the Middle East, said that the GOP nominee “understands the grave responsibility that a president and commander in chief bears for every single one of our lives.”

The pair appeared at the National Guard Association of the United States on the third anniversary of the Aug. 26, 2021, suicide bombing at Hamid Karzai International Airport, which killed 13 U.S. service members and more than 100 Afghans. Gabbard accompanied Trump earlier Monday to Arlington National Cemetery, where the former president laid wreaths in honor of three of the slain service members—Sgt. Nicole Gee, Staff Sgt. Darin Hoover and Staff Sgt. Ryan Knauss. On Monday, Gabbard praised Trump for “having the courage to meet with adversaries, dictators, allies and partners alike in the pursuit of peace, seeing war as a last resort.” She condemned the Democratic White House for the U.S. now “facing multiple wars on multiple fronts in regions around the world and closer to the brink of nuclear war than we ever have been before.” The former president’s team announced later Monday that Gabbard would moderate a town hall with Trump that the campaign was planning for Thursday in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Gabbard has long signaled some level of support for Trump, even while she sat in the U.S. House as a Democrat. In 2019, she was the only lawmaker to vote “present” when the House of Representatives impeached Trump for his dealings with Ukraine. Gabbard’s endorsement of the rival nominee to her former party represents a polar swing from her position as a Democrat representing Hawaii in the U.S. House, although Gabbard was known during her four terms for taking positions at odds with her own party’s establishment. She was an early and vocal supporter of Sen. Bernie Sanders’ 2016 Democratic presidential primary run, which made her popular with progressives. Not seeking reelection in 2020, Gabbard ran for president herself instead, saying U.S. wars in the Middle East destabilized the region, made the U.S. less safe and cost thousands of American lives, and that Democrats and Republicans shared the blame. She tore into Harris’ record during a primary debate and ultimately outlasted her in that race, which President Joe Biden ultimately won. Gabbard endorsed Biden but became an independent two years later, saying the Democratic Party was dominated by an “elitist cabal of warmongers” and “woke” ideologues. In the years since she has campaigned for several high-profile Republicans, become a contributor to Fox News and started a podcast. Another former Democratic presidential contender also just recently endorsed Trump. Last week, independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.—who last year ran as a Democrat challenging President Joe Biden for the nomination—suspended his campaign and said he was backing Trump in the general election. —Kinnard reported from Chapin, S.C. fighting the clowns....
Tulsi Gabbard, the one-time Democratic presidential hopeful who had hoped to run against Donald Trump in 2020, completed an astonishing reversal Monday by warmly endorsing the former president.
Gabbard quit her safe Hawaii House district in 2019 to join the packed 2020 Democratic presidential field. After dropping out of the race, she endorsed Joe Biden as the best man to “heal the divisiveness that has been tearing our country apart.”
But on Monday she spoke at a meeting of the National Guard Association in Detroit, Michigan, which was also addressed by Trump—and called for the country to vote for him. "I am committed to doing all that I can to send President Trump back to the White House,” she said.
Gabbard served in the Army National Guard in Afghanistan, where she was decorated for her service. She is now an officer in the Army Reserve and framed her military credentials as part of her justification for now backing Trump.
“I know what I mean when I share with you that President Trump understands the grave responsibility that a president and commander-in-chief bears for every single one of our lives,” she said.
“He keeps us in his heart in the decisions that he makes,” she added. “We saw this through his first term in the presidency when he not only didn’t start any new wars, he took action to de-escalate and prevent wars. The same cannot be said about Kamala Harris. In fact the opposite is true.”
Gabbard’s political transformation has taken her from the anti-war wing of the Democratic Party to the inner MAGA circle. She has been helping Trump prepare for his debate with Vice President (and current presidential candidate) Kamala Harris, having been seen as landing critical blows on Harris during a July 2019 Democratic debate, when they sparred over the then-California senator’s record as a prosecutor.
She has also touted herself as a potential running mate for Trump, saying just before he was convicted of 34 felony counts of false record keeping that she would be “honored” to be on the ticket.
Her embrace of the conservative movement has seen her take a Fox News contributorship and speak at the Conservative Political Action Committee’s CPAC gathering; her book For Love of Country: Leave the Democrat Party Behind, uses the term “Democrat” rather than “Democratic” as a dig against the party. She had once been a vice chair of the Democratic National Committee.
The 43-year-old lives with Abraham Williams, her second husband, in California and Texas.
The timing of her endorsement was not accidental. Gabbard, a member of the Hawaii National Guard, had earlier gone to Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia with Trump to lay a wreath marking the third anniversary of the deaths of 13 American servicemen at the Abbey Gate of Kabul Airport during the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan.
Trump’s campaign hopes to make the bloody exit from Afghanistan an attack line on Harris, who has said she was the last person in the room as President Joe Biden ordered the complete withdrawal from Afghanistan. Trump himself had struck the deal which led to the withdrawal and had planned to host members of the Taliban at Camp David on Sept. 11, 2019, to finalize it.
The Democratic National Committee’s rapid response director Alex Floyd compared Gabbard to another Democrat with presidential ambitions-turned-Trump backer.
“Donald Trump’s MAGA brand is so toxic that he’s resorted to touting support from off-putting extremists like RFK Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard,” Floyd said in a statement.

RFK Jr AND GABBARD ARE NOT EXTREMISTS, UNLIKE THE DEMOCRAT CIRCUS CHASING JOURNALISTS (LIKE SCOTT RITTER), HIDING BIDEN'S CORRUPTION AND MENTAL DECLINE, PROMOTING SEX CHANGE FOR KIDS, BEING HYPOCRITES ON ISRAHELL AND DEMANDING MORE WEAPONS FOR A WAR THAT HAS ALREADY BEEN LOST, AGAINST RUSSIA...

a peace ticket?....
by Ron Paul
Just as the Harris/Walz campaign was looking for a boost from the content-free Democratic National Convention last week, real drama broke out that pulled the country’s attention back toward Republican candidate Donald Trump. Rumors had been swirling for days that Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. might suspend his independent run for the White House and endorse Donald Trump and on Friday he did just that.
In his powerful speech explaining the decision, RFK, Jr. made it clear that suspending his run was difficult, as was leaving a Democratic Party that has been almost synonymous with the name “Kennedy” for many decades. On both issues RFK, Jr. explained that he was guided by principles and values over party orientation and the fluff that has increasingly come to characterize American electoral politics.
It seems the more “polarized” much of American society becomes over which political party they support, the more the rest of us continue to see less and less difference between the two when it comes to actual policy. Both parties support the warfare/welfare state. Both pursue policies leading to poverty and war instead of peace and prosperity. Both are deluded into believing that the Federal Reserve can effectively manage the economy while we amass unimaginable levels of debt.
Americans are seeking authenticity and politicians who put principles above political parties and that is exactly what RFK, Jr. did last Friday. In his speech at the Trump rally, RFK served up severe criticisms of the Democrats for their embrace of endless war.
He said: “Judging by the bellicose, belligerent speech last night in Chicago, we can assume that President Harris will be an enthusiastic advocate for this and other neocon military adventures. President Trump says he will reopen negotiations with President Putin and end the war overnight as soon as he becomes President. This alone would justify my support for his campaign.”
It was a well-aimed blow at the Biden/Harris Administration, which pretends to be seeking peace while pouring gasoline on the numerous conflicts overseas.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez claimed in her speech to the DNC that Vice President Harris is “working tirelessly” toward a ceasefire in Gaza literally as the Biden/Harris Administration announced another huge shipment of bombs to be used by the Israeli military to kill more Palestinians.
What can we hope for in RFK, Jr.’s bold move? For one, we should hope that coming out in favor of principles instead of hollow party identification can reduce the power of political parties altogether. Already in the Republican Party we are seeing a “new guard” emerge that is ready to break with the tired neocon stranglehold on the party.
So does RFK Jr.’s endorsement of Trump on principles rather than parties mean that we finally have a “peace ticket” to support? The short answer is “no,” we don’t have a peace ticket. Many of us who hoped that the first Trump presidency would be that peace ticket were disappointed to see the likes of John Bolton and Mike Pompeo litter the Administration. There is always the chance of a repeat of these mistakes. And neither Trump nor RFK seem reliably in favor of an end to the slaughter in Gaza.
So no, this is not a “peace ticket.” But at least with what we have seen this past week with RFK and Trump, we get the feeling that peace is on the menu. It’s a start.

warmonger biden....

United Sates President Joe Biden has spent most of his presidency refusing to talk with Russia President Vladimir Putin. This is despite — or maybe because of — the fact that such discourse could have led to an agreement ending the US government’s proxy war against Russia.
Instead of talking out a resolution to the fighting, Biden has kept pumping dollars, weapons, and intelligence to the Ukraine government, resulting in a rising death toll and expanding war. Also advanced has been the risk of drawing the US and Russia directly into a war against each other that could go nuclear.
Still, Biden will not pick up the phone or fly on a plane to talk things over with the president of Russia. “I have no good reason to talk to Putin right now,” said Biden on July 11, 2024 in response to a reporter’s question at one of Biden’s rare press conferences. We know Biden loves his vacation time, but, really, isn’t ending the Ukraine War and preventing its further escalation a good enough reason to start chatting with Putin? How about putting in a little effort to give peace a chance?
Long, long ago, during the presidency of George W. Bush, a US president not only regularly talked with Putin, including in in-person meetings, he even had an affectionate nickname for the Russia president. For Bush, Putin was Pootie-Poot. How things have changed.
Not every American president before Biden had a cute nickname for counterparts among the long line of Russia leaders, and Soviet leaders during the decades when Russia was subsumed in the Soviet Union. Yet, they all were willing to talk. This includes Ronald Reagan who called the Soviet Union an “evil empire” and pushed for increased US military spending to counter what he presented as a Soviet threat. Reagan met with and kept in regular contact with Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev, succeeding in putting in place arms control deals between the nations. Other US presidents, while directly and by proxy militarily countering the “red spread” and “Soviet expansion,” kept in communication with Soviet leaders. They wanted to be dedicated cold warriors while minimizing the risk of outright war between the US and Soviet Union.
Biden should give Putin a call. And when Biden makes that call, why not give Putin a nice nickname too? Doing this may run counter to Biden’s nature, but it could be the first step down the path to peace.
Unfortunately, there is little indication that seeking peace is even a small component of the Biden administration’s agenda.
