"putin is mocking donald's peace efforts"....

Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski has claimed Russian President Vladimir Putin is “mocking” his US counterpart Donald Trump’s peace initiatives.

The top Polish diplomat took to X on Friday to respond to a series of overnight Russian missile strikes on Ukrainian drone production facilities, an airfield and an oil refinery, which Moscow said was a response to “terrorist attacks by the Kiev regime.” .

”President Trump, Putin is mocking your peace efforts. Please restore supplies of anti-aircraft ammunition to Ukraine and impose tough new sanctions on the aggressor,” Sikorski wrote, complaining that a Russian strike had damaged the Polish embassy compound in Kiev.

Ukraine’s military reported that Russia launched over 330 drones in what was described as the largest single drone offensive to date. With the addition of missile strikes, the total number of projectiles reached approximately 550, Ukrainian Air Force spokesperson Yury Ignat estimated.

Moscow says it never targets non-military targets and attributes collateral damage to Ukrainian air defenses and Kiev’s alleged propensity to station military assets in civilian areas.

The US has paused certain weapons deliveries to Ukraine to preserve its own strategic reserves. Trump clarified on Thursday that there was no complete freeze on military aid while announcing that he and Putin had held a phone call, which the US president characterized as disappointing.

Kiev and its Western backers, including Poland, continue to press Washington to expand sanctions on Russia, boost military support for Ukraine, while hoping Trump will continue to pick up the considerable financial burden arming Ukraine places on the US budget.

One of their key demands is that Moscow agree to an unconditional ceasefire lasting at least a month.

Russia has rejected that proposal, describing it as an attempt to allow Ukrainian forces to regroup.

During peace talks in Istanbul last month, Moscow proposed a conditional truce offering two possible frameworks: one requiring Ukrainian troop withdrawal from all Russian territories; and the other, mandating a halt to Ukrainian mobilization and suspension of Western military aid. Both were rejected.

happy 4th.....

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has sent his best wishes to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and the American people for Independence Day, which is celebrated on Friday.

In a message released by the Russian Foreign Ministry, Lavrov expressed support for US unity and the American Dream, while expressing hope for improved ties between the two nations.

”I expect that together we can put the relations between our nations on a creative vector, make them stable and predictable based on mutual respect for national interests determined by history, geography, and ‘realities on the ground,’” he said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin extended his best wishes to US President Donald Trump in a phone call the previous day. According to presidential aide Yury Ushakov, Putin wished Trump success in advancing major reforms and noted Russia’s historical contribution to America’s struggle for independence from Britain.

Moscow has expressed a more favorable view of the Trump administration compared to the previous administration of Joe Biden – who set the strategic defeat of Russia as a core objective of his foreign policy and pledged military support to Ukraine “for as long as it takes” to achieve victory in the conflict with Russia.

Trump has criticized Biden’s approach as costly and harmful to US interests. His administration has resumed high-level talks with Moscow and is working toward mediating an end to the Ukraine conflict, with a stated goal of fostering future economic cooperation.

While expressing optimism about Trump’s intentions, Russia has criticized some of his recent actions. Last month, Trump ordered a military operation against Iran in support of Israel’s effort to dismantle the Iranian nuclear program – which Moscow condemned as unlawful and highly destabilizing for global security.

House Passes Trump’s ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ That Will Bring the 2026 Military Budget Over $1 TrillionThe bill includes $150 billion in additional military spending, and $113 billion of it will be used to supplement the 2026 military budget

by  | Jul 3, 2025

The House on Thursday passed a massive piece of legislation, dubbed the “Big Beautiful Bill” by President Trump, that includes extra military spending to bring the 2026 military budget over $1 trillion.

The bill passed in a vote of 218-214, with only two Republicans — Reps. Thomas Massie (KY) and Brian Fitzpatrick (PA) — and every Democrat voting against it. The legislation has already passed the Senate and now heads to President Trump’s desk for his signature.

The legislation includes $150 billion in additional military spending, and the White House plans to use $113 billion of it to supplement the 2026 military budget, bringing it to approximately $1.006 trillion, representing a 13% increase from 2025.

The $150 billion will go toward several military priorities of the Trump administration, including the so-called “Golden Dome,” a plan for a sprawling missile defense system in the United States that’s sure to kick off a new arms race and will be a boondoggle for the weapons makers.

According to Breaking Defense, the $150 billion includes:

  • $29 billion for shipbuilding
  • $25 billion for Golden Dome
  • $25 billion for munitions
  • $16 billion for innovative technologies such as drones, AI, and low-cost weapons
  • $15 billion for nuclear “modernization”
  • $12 billion for the US military’s buildup in the Asia Pacific
  • $9 billion for air superiority

While the US has never officially had a $1 trillion military budget, the actual cost of US military spending has exceeded $1 trillion for years. According to veteran defense analyst Winslow Wheeler, based on the $895 billion National Defense Authorization Act, US national security spending for 2025 was expected to reach about $1.77 trillion.

Wheeler’s estimate accounts for military-related spending from other government agencies not funded by the NDAA, such as the Department of Veterans Affairs and Homeland Security. It also includes the national security share of the interest accrued on the US debt, as well as other factors.
