obama and soros devised a plan to stop trump..........Records obtained by U.S. intelligence officials indicate the FBI would play a role in putting “more oil into the fire” of the Russia collusion hoax ahead of the 2016 presidential election, according to newly declassified documents released Thursday. The apparent revelation was included in a previously classified appendix that was a part of John Durham’s 2023 Special Counsel report on the origins of the fabricated scheme attempting to advance the falsehood that Donald Trump colluded with Moscow to steal the 2016 contest. According to the appendix, “Beginning in or about 2014, and continuing through at least in or about 2016, individuals affiliated with Russian intelligence services hacked and gained unlawful access to emails of numerous U.S. public and private entities — including government agencies, non-profit organizations, and think tanks based in the United States.” The declassified records note that one of the nonprofits “hacked by Russian government actors in 2016” was leftist billionaire George Soros’ Open Society Foundations. Per the appendix, a source reportedly familiar with the contents of the hacked materials (U.S.-based emails and communications) told U.S. officials that among the records were alleged emails issued by Leonard Benardo, who served as Open Society Foundations’ regional director for Eurasia. In one of the purported emails, dated July 25, 2016, Benardo allegedly indicated that the FBI would help contribute to the Hillary Clinton campaign’s reported “plan” to tie Trump to Russia. “The media analysis on the DNC hacking appears solid. … Julie [Hillary Clinton campaign adviser] says it will be a long-term affair to demonize Putin and Trump. Now it is good for a post-convention bounce,” Bernardo allegedly wrote, according to the appendix. “Later the FBI will put more oil into the fire.” The appendix includes a second email allegedly sent by Benardo two days later on July 27, in which he purportedly wrote, “HRC [Hillary Rodham Clinton] approved Julie’s idea about Trump and Russian hackers hampering U.S. elections. That should distract people from her own missing email, especially if the affair goes to the Olympic level.” The appendix went on to note that when Durham’s team presented Benardo with the alleged emails, he “stated that they did not look familiar to him, and that he would not have used certain terms, such as ‘oil into the fire.’” “Benardo also did not know who ‘Julie’ referred to in the July 25, 2016 purported emails,” the appendix reads. “Benardo stated that, to the best of his recollection, he did not draft the emails. Benardo stated, however, that the last sentence in the email — noting that ‘things are ghastly for U.S.-Russia relations’ — sounded like something he would have said.” Julieanne Smith — the aforementioned Clinton campaign official — also denied receiving either of the Benardo emails and said that she did not “specifically remember proposing a plan to Clinton or other campaign leadership to try to tie Trump to Putin or Russia.” According to the appendix, she also said “that it was possible that she had proposed ideas on these topics to the campaign’s leadership, who may have approved these ideas,” but that “she was certain any proposal she made … seeking to highlight issues concerning Trump and Russia would not have included an effort to enlist the FBI in furtherance of those efforts.” The appendix later noted, however, that a review of certain communications by Durham’s office involving Smith “provided possible additional support … to the notion that the Clinton campaign was engaged in an effort” to formulate a plan tying Trump to Russia. Further, the campaign “might have wanted or expected the FBI or other agencies to aid that effort … by commencing a formal investigation of the DNC hack.” “The Office’s best assessment is that the July 25th and July 27th emails that purport to be from Benardo were ultimately a composite of several emails that were obtained through Russian intelligence hacking of the U.S.-based Think Tanks, including the Open Society Foundations, the Carnegie Endowment, and others,” the appendix reads. “Furthermore … it is a logical deduction that [redacted] Smith was, at a minimum, playing a role in the Clinton campaign’s efforts to tie Trump to Russia.” The FBI would ultimately assist the Clinton campaign’s efforts to foment the Russia collusion hoax. In late July 2016, the agency usedthe phony Clinton bought-and-paid-for Steele dossier — which was composed of salacious and unverified allegations about Trump — to help launch its “Crossfire Hurricane” investigation into the Trump campaign.

Read the documents that prove Hillary Clinton OK’d plan to ‘smear’ Trump with Russia collusion
By Josh Christenson
WASHINGTON — Hillary Clinton signed off on a plan hatched by a top campaign adviser to “smear” then-candidate Donald Trump with false claims of Russian collusion and distract from her own mounting email scandal during the 2016 campaign, according to explosive intelligence files declassified Thursday.
The 24-page intelligence annex was compiled from memos and emails obtained by the Obama administration in the lead-up to Election Day that laid out “confidential conversations” between leaders of the Democratic National Committee — including then-Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz — and liberal billionaire George Soros’ Open Society Foundations.
The plot, the brainchild of the Clinton campaign’s then-foreign policy adviser, Julianne Smith, included “raising the theme of ‘Putin’s support for Trump’” and “subsequently steering public opinion toward the notion that it needs to equate” the Russian leader’s political influence campaign with actual hacking of election infrastructure.
Smith would go on to serve as former President Joe Biden’s ambassador to NATO. “I don’t have any comment,” she told The Post when reached by phone Thursday.
Open Society senior vice president Leonard Benardo was looped in on the scheme and laid out its intended effect in a series of emails in late July 2016.
“Julie [sic] says it will be a long-term affair to demonize Putin and Trump,” Benardo was quoted as writing July 25. “Now it is good for a post-convention bounce. Later the FBI will put more oil into the fire.”
Two days later, Benardo wrote: “HRC approved Julia’s idea about Trump and Russian hackers hampering U.S. elections. That should distract people from her own missing email, especially if the affair goes to the Olympic level,” an apparent reference to revelations of a massive state-sponsored doping campaign by Russia following the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi.
“The point is making the Russian play a U.S. domestic issue,” Benardo also stated. “In absence of direct evidence, Crowdstrike and ThreatConnect will supply the media, and GRU [Russia’s foreign intelligence arm] will hopefully carry on to give more facts.”
Special counsel John Durham uncovered the files during a multi-year probe into intelligence activities during the 2016 election.

EXCLUSIVE: DOJ Official Who Approved $2 Million Payout To Disgraced Russia Hoaxers Identified As Left-Wing Activist Brian Netter
BY: MOLLIE HEMINGWAY
The Department of Justice official who signed off on $2 million in taxpayer-funded payments to disgraced Russia collusion hoax participants left the Department of Justice to help lead the “legal resistance” to President Donald Trump and other duly-elected Republicans, new records reviewed exclusively by The Federalist reveal.
FBI Special Agent Peter Strzok and his mistress, FBI lawyer Lisa Page, sued the Department of Justice over the release of messages detailing their role in pushing the Clinton campaign’s Russia collusion hoax. They said the release of the messages that were written using government resources violated their privacy. The Biden administration rewarded the duo with lucrative payouts. Strozk received $1.2 million in taxpayer funds while Page received an $800,000 settlement.
“[W]e have identified Brian Netter, Deputy Assistant Attorney General as the individual that approved the settlement agreements,” a DOJ official told the Center to Advance Security in America, which had filed a Freedom of Information Act request in 2024, when the payouts were publicly announced. Netter was the deputy assistant attorney general for the Federal Programs Branch during the term of President Joe Biden.
Netter currently serves as the legal director at Democracy Forward, a Democrat Party-affiliated group launched in 2017 to fight President Trump with lawfare. The group brags that it took Trump to court more than 100 times in his first term in office. It has continued its use of the courts to win political battles into his second term in office. “Liberal Legal Group Positions Itself as a Top Trump Administration Foe,” touted The New York Times last November.
Marc Elias, the attorney known for his work damaging the integrity of both the 2016 and 2020 elections, chairs the board of Democracy Forward. Elias, as the Clinton campaign general counsel, signed the checks for her campaign’s Russia collusion hoax. To hide the Russia collusion hoax’s origins, the funding was fraudulently run through Elias’s law firm as “legal services.” Clinton was fined only $113,000 for the false claims she made to hide her role. Elias also ran Democrats’ legal effort to destabilize the 2020 elections with the sudden expansion of unsupervised mail-in balloting operations staffed by Democrat-run nonprofit groups.
Other current and recent board members of Netter’s group include former Clinton campaign manager John Podesta, former Biden Chief of Staff Ronald Klain, Kamala Harris’ sister Maya Harris, and former leader of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Mindy Myers.
Netter worked for Merrick Garland’s Department of Justice from 2021 through early 2025. He opposed then-former President Trump’s motion for a preliminary injunction to block National Archives releases to the January 6 committee, a lawfare committee comprised only of members appointed by then-Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.
Netter married Democrat lawyer and activist Karen Dunn in a ceremony officiated by Garland in 2009. Dunn, who played a key role in the Hillary Clinton campaign and was widely considered a likely White House Counsel if Hillary Clinton won her 2016 presidential campaign, specializes in Democrat debate preparation. She co-led President Barack Obama’s presidential debate preparation team for his re-election campaign and led presidential debate preparation for Hillary Clinton in 2016 and Kamala Harris in 2024. In 2020, she led the preparation of Kamala Harris for the vice presidential debate.
Dunn started a law firm with Jeannie Rhee, one of the attorneys who worked on perpetuating the Russia collusion hoax through the Robert Mueller special counsel investigation. The firm hired Mueller alumnus Rush Atkinson as well.
Dunn clerked for Garland when he was on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit and for Justice Stephen Breyer on the Supreme Court. Netter also clerked for Breyer and Judge Judith Rogers on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.
Congressional overseers were upset by the reward given to the hoaxers and demanded to know who signed off on them. They were thwarted by officials who said they didn’t know who had authorized the payments, and declined to respond to Congressional inquiries to find out.
“The American people are rightly concerned about the Biden Administration’s targeting of conservatives while their political allies were given special treatment,” said James Fitzpatrick, director of the Center to Advance Security in America. “These settlements are a prime example of the outrageous abuse of power endured by the American people under Joe Biden.”
Netter did not respond to a request for comment by publication time.
