news and opinions, political media and cover-up......Another day, another act of left-wing violence. Another act of left-wing violence, another media cover-up for their left-wing terrorist foot soldiers. In the wake of Charlie Kirk’s assassination, the corporate media put an enormous amount of effort into a psy-op to make Americans believe the assassin was actually a Trump supporter. While Media Denied Leftist Violence After Kirk Murder, Three More Left-Wing Attacks Happened BY: BRECCAN F. THIES
While they did that, three more acts of left-wing violence took place: An attempted firebombing of a Fox News van, a shooting at an ABC News affiliate after Jimmy Kimmel’s well-deserved suspension, and, most recently, a shooting at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Dallas, Texas. That is all just in a two-week timeframe, and does not take into account school shootings, other attacks on ICE, assassinations or assassination attempts, and other instances of left-wing violence Americans have seen increase dramatically for the past several years. The media are running the same playbook for the ICE attack. On Wednesday, an apparently left-wing, “anti-ICE” shooter tried to kill ICE agents, and the media is already churning to psy-op people into believing this person was actually on the right. While no ICE agents were killed, one detainee was killed and two others were injured, according to the Department of Homeland Security. That fact has given the propaganda press a pretext for suggesting that the shooter was actually trying to kill the detainees out of hatred for illegal immigrants. An analyst on CNN suggested that “We don’t know whether this was an anti-migrant shooting because of the victimology — who was struck — or whether this is an anti-ICE shooting.” Well, we do know. According to Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) director Kash Patel, the bullets were inscribed with anti-ICE messaging. “These despicable, politically motivated attacks against law enforcement are not a one-off. We are only miles from Prarieland, Texas where just two months ago an individual ambushed a separate ICE facility targeting their officers,” Patel said. “It has to end and the FBI and our partners will lead these investigative efforts to see to it that those who target our law enforcement are pursued and brought to the fullest extent of justice.” With that knowledge, MSNBC decided to run with the idea that it is “strange” that the shooter would inscribe bullet casings with left-wing messaging because one shooter in New Zealand deemed to be “right wing” did the same. “So to see this coming from, you know, potentially the other side of the political spectrum is a little strange,” former FBI official Christopher O’Leary said on MSNBC. “If you are trying to carry out some kind of message countering, you know, more extreme right-wing stuff, I don’t know why you would, you know, use a tactic that a famous white supremacist … why you would do that.” Kirk’s assassin inscribed leftist messages on his bullet casings. The “transgender”-identified shooter at Annunciation Catholic School two weeks prior to that inscribed messages on his gun and magazines, including “Kill Donald Trump.” All of these terrorists have obvious, left-wing motivations. The pattern is not difficult to see. But the media and left-wing politicians are not just complicit, they are active participants in the violence: They are the radicalizers of the left-wing terrorist movement. “For months, we’ve been warning politicians and the media to tone down their rhetoric about ICE law enforcement before someone was killed,” Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said Wednesday. “These horrendous killings must serve as a wake-up call to the far-left that their rhetoric about ICE has consequences. Comparing ICE Day-in and day-out to the Nazi Gestapo, the Secret Police, and slave patrols has consequences. The men and women of ICE are fathers and mothers, sons and daughters. They get up every morning to try and make our communities safer. Like everyone else, we just want to go home to our families at night.” A shrieking Rep. John Larson, D-Conn., last month called ICE agents “the SS” and “the gestapo.” Gov. J.B. Pritzker, D-Ill., likened the United States to “Nazi Germany” because of ICE agents doing their jobs. Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, said ICE agents are “slave patrols.” House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., called for the doxing of ICE agents. Rep. Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., has suggested the same. Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., said, “We are going to require them to show their faces.” Gov. Tim Walz, D-Minn., who was nearly the vice president, called ICE agents “Donald Trump’s modern-day gestapo.” Rep. Stephen Lynch, D-Mass., has said the same. Rep. Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash., said ICE is “acting like a terrorist force,” adding that “people … are being kidnapped and disappeared off the street by masked men.” Rep. Maxwell Frost, D-Fla., called ICE enforcement a “terror campaign.” Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., has said the same. Pundits on MSNBC have consistently called ICE the “gestapo.” That is the kind of rhetoric from elected officials and media that encourages assassinations, shootings, and other left-wing political violence because it pre-justifies them. According to the Department of Homeland Security, ICE agents were already facing a 500 percent increase in assaults by the end of June. Every act of left-wing violence, including the attacks on ICE agents, can be placed at the feet of Democrats and their friends in the media encouraging it. As The Federalist CEO and co-founder Sean Davis put it, “How many more people need to die before the entire federal government starts taking left-wing terrorism seriously? Hunt them down, dismantle their financial networks, and crush them into dust. We don’t have the luxury of just sitting around and hoping they’ll stop.”

Jimmy Kimmel Refuses To Condemn ‘ANTI ICE’ Shooting At Texas Immigration Facility BY: SHAWN FLEETWOOD
A day after issuing a non-apology for lying about his alleged killer’s political beliefs, late-night “comedian” Jimmy Kimmel is now refusing to condemn an attack against ICE agents. On Wednesday, a suspected sniper opened fire on an ICE transportation vehicle in Dallas, Texas, killing two and injuring another. All of those struck in the attack were detainees, and the alleged shooter died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to law enforcement. While an investigation into the matter remains ongoing, early findings appear to indicate yet another instance of left-wing political violence. Hours after the shooting, FBI Director Kash Patel released an image of several unspent bullet casings seemingly belonging to the suspect, one of which is engraved with the phrase, “ANTI ICE.” “These despicable, politically motivated attacks against law enforcement are not a one-off. We are only miles from Prarieland, Texas where just two months ago an individual ambushed a separate ICE facility targeting their officers,” Patel wrote in an accompanying statement on X. “It has to end and the FBI and our partners will lead these investigative efforts to see to it that those who target our law enforcement are pursued and brought to the fullest extent of justice.” The incident occurred nearly two weeks after Charlie Kirk was assassinated, allegedly at the hands of a pro-trans leftist, while the former was speaking to students at a Utah-based university. During his opening monologue days after the horrific slaughter, Kimmel attempted to downplay the egregious act of political violence by suggesting the assassin was “MAGA.” Following the disgusting lie and Kimmel’s reported plans to double down on attacking his conservative critics, Disney-owned ABC placed the host on indefinite suspension. The company reversed course several days later, although Nexstar and Sinclair — owners of numerous ABC affiliate stations — have said they will not broadcast Jimmy Kimmel Live! until appropriate steps are taken to ensure such incidents don’t happen again. Kimmel attempted to clean up his mess during his Tuesday return to the airways. Unsurprisingly, his crocodile-tear-filled ramblings didn’t include any real apology for his Kirk comments, but instead pushed a narrative of, “You misunderstood me.” “You understand that it was never my intention to make light of the murder of a young man. I don’t think there’s anything funny about it,” Kimmel said. “I understand that to some, that felt either ill-timed or unclear, or maybe both, and for those who think I did point a finger, I get why you’re upset.” Yet, for all his supposed opposition to political violence, Kimmel has remained mum on the latest attack on ICE in Texas. When pressed on whether he condemns this latest act of apparent left-wing violence or plans to condemn it on his ABC program, Kimmel representatives did not respond to The Federalist’s request for comment. As The Federalist’s Brianna Lyman recently noted, unhinged leftist smears and attacks against ICE and efforts to deport illegal aliens violating U.S. immigration law are hardly new. A day before the aforementioned shooting at the Dallas ICE facility, for example, California Gov. Gavin Newsom appeared on Stephen Colbert’s late-night show to demonize ICE agents. The Golden State Democrat claimed there are “Masked men, jumping out of unmarked cars, people disappearing, no due process, no oversight, zero accountability.” “People ask: ‘Well is “authoritarianism” here being hyperbolic?’ Bullsh-t we’re being hyperbolic. If you’re in the black and brown community, [authoritarianism is] here in this country,” Newsom said. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and failed 2024 Democrat vice presidential candidate Tim Walz are among those who have echoed similar rhetoric in recent months. Update: DHS initially said that two detainees were killed in the attack. After publication, the department corrected this information, saying, as of Wednesday afternoon, that only one detainee was killed and two others are in critical condition.

Lawsuits, cancellations and bullying: Trump is systematically destroying press freedomUS President Donald Trump is well advanced in his systematic campaign to undermine the American media and eviscerate its function of holding him and others in power to account.
Since the late 18th century, this function has often been called the fourth estate. It’s the idea the media is a watchdog over the other three estates which, in modern democracies, are parliament, the executive government and the judiciary.
In the US, Trump has had considerable success in weakening the other three.
His Republican Party controls both Houses of Congress, and they have shown no sign of wishing to restrain him.
He has stacked the executive government with cronies and ideological fellow travellers, including Robert F. Kennedy Jr (and his anti-vaccination agenda) as secretary of health, a brief stint by Elon Musk as head of the Department of Government Efficiency, and former Fox News host Pete Hegseth as defence secretary.
He has secured the support of the Republican Party to stack the Supreme Court with politically aligned judges who have routinely struck down lower court decisions against him, most notably in the matter of deporting migrants to countries other than their homelands.
Pulling funding, applying pressure
The fourth estate’s turn started in March, when Trump stripped federal funding from Voice of America, a public broadcasting service with a global reach, because it was “anti-Trump” and “radical”.
These cuts also hit two other projections of American soft power, Radio Free Europe and Radio Free Asia.
In July, he cut funding to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, in a move that ended all federal support for National Public Radio, the Public Broadcasting service and their member stations.
Now he has turned to the private sector media. He does not have the power to cut their funding, so he is taking a different approach: financial shake-downs and threats to the foundations of their business.
In October 2024, even before he was elected, Trump sued the Paramount company for US$10 billion (about A$15 billion). He alleged an interview with Kamala Harris during the 2024 election campaign had been “deceptively edited” by the CBS television network, a Paramount subsidiary.
In February 2025, after he had been sworn in as president, Trump upped the ante to US$20 billion (A$30 billion).
The case was considered by lawyers to have no legal merit, but, at that time, Paramount was anxious to merge with Skydance Media, and this was subject to regulatory approval from the Trump administration.
So Paramount was vulnerable to, how shall we say, blackmail? Extortion? Subornation?
A busy, dangerous July
On 2 July, Paramount settled with Trump for US$16 million (A$24 million), which ostensibly is to go towards funding his presidential library.
On 17 July, Paramount’s CBS network announced its longtime Late Show would be cancelled from May 2026 after its presenter Stephen Colbert, an outspoken critic of Trump, condemned the corporate cave-in. The Trump administration approved the merger shortly after.
Subsequently, the House of Representatives Judiciary and Energy and Commerce committees announced an investigation into whether the US$16 million settlement constituted a bribe.
Also in July, Trump sued Rupert Murdoch’s Wall Street Journal for defamation arising from an article linking Trump to the sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. He claimed the now-familiar amount of US$10 billion (A$15 billion) in damages.
Legal experts in the US say Trump has next to no chance of winning. In the US, public figures who sue for defamation have to prove that the publisher was motivated by malice, which means they published either knowing the material to be untrue, or not caring whether it was true or not.
This case is never likely to end up in court, nor is it likely that Trump will see a red cent of Murdoch’s money. The two men need each other too much. To borrow a phrase from the Cold War, they are in a MAD relationship: Mutually Assured Destruction.
Coming to heel, one by one
Murdoch was a guest at Windsor Castle at the recent banquet given for Trump by King Charles.
Considering Murdoch’s bitter history with the royal family, it is difficult to imagine Buckingham Palace inviting him without Trump’s urging. It may have been a sign of rapprochement between the two men.
Meanwhile, Trump has set his sights on The New York Times, suing it for defamation and claiming US$15 billion (A$27 billion).
Referring to the Times’ endorsement of Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election, he said it had become a “mouthpiece for the Radical Left Democrat Party”.
This case faces the same difficulties as his suit against The Wall Street Journal. The question is whether the Times will stand its ground or whether, like Paramount, it caves.
Among the big three US newspapers, the Times is the only one so far not to have been intimidated by Trump. The other two, the Washington Post and the Los Angeles Times, refused to endorse a candidate at the election on instructions from their owners, Jeff Bezos and Patrick Soon-Shiong respectively, both of whose wider business interests are vulnerable to Trumpian retribution.
The Post’s decision was condemned as “spineless” by its celebrated former editor Marty Baron.
Now Disney is in the firing line. It owns another of the big four US television networks, ABC. On September 17, it pulled its late-night talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Kimmel had responded to White House accusations that leftists were responsible for the assassination of Charlie Kirk, saying:
“We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterise this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them.”
In what had all the hallmarks of a pre-emptive buckle, ABC and two of its affiliate networks took Kimmel off air indefinitely after Brendan Carr, the Trump-appointed chair of the Federal Communications Commission, said his agency might “take action” against the network because of Kimmel’s comments.
Kimmel is returning to TV, but the damage is already done.
Over at cable network MSNBC, its senior political analyst Matthew Dowd was fired after he had uttered on air the blindingly obvious statement that Kirk’s own radical rhetoric may have contributed to the shooting that killed him.
This cable network is no longer part of the main NBC network, so it can’t be said that NBC itself has yet come to heel.
Within 24 hours of Carr’s veiled threat, Trump stripped the veil away and made the threat explicit. Trump said of the national networks:
“All they do is hit Trump. They’re licensed, they’re not allowed to do that. They’re an arm of the Democrat party. I would think maybe their licence should be taken away.”
Whether cancelling a licence would breach the First Amendment to the US Constitution, which protects freedom of speech, is a question that might ultimately come before the Supreme Court. Given the present ideological proclivities of that court, the outcome would be by no means certain.
So Trump now has two out of three national newspapers, and two out of the big four national television networks, on the run.
Only one national newspaper and two national networks to go, and one of those is Murdoch’s Fox News, Trump’s most reliable cheerleader.
