President Trump on Sunday said that he was still deciding how to move forward on the Iran war and whether or not to blow up the “entire nation,” as the Iranian military is warning that it has information that the US will resume attacks on the Islamic Republic.

Fox News reporter Trey Yingst said that he spoke with Trump on Sunday morning and that the president told him he is in a “deciding mode” and that “very big things are going to be happening in the not-so-distant future.”

Trump told Yingst that the current choices on the table include “wiping Iran out, letting them rot economically, or making a deal,” though Iran has made clear it’s not backing down on its core conditions for a deal. “My question is if and when I blow the entire nation up. They better behave,” the US president said.

Also on Sunday, Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters said that based on information it has received, the US “has once again decided, with the green light of some regional countries, at a joint meeting in one of the European countries, to resume actions against the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

The Iranian command said that if the US “commits any mistake” against Iran, “all its bases and interests in the region, without any limitation or consideration, will be targeted by sustained, effective and painful attacks” and added a warning to regional countries hosting US bases.

US embassies in the region put out alerts over the weekend warning US citizens against traveling in the region, something that’s happened previously before US escalations against Iran, though they are also related to the escalations in Yemen and Ansar Allah’s attacks on Saudi Arabia. 

There have been signs that the US may escalate against Ansar Allah, also known as the Houthis, though Trump told Yingst that the US “is in constant communication with the Houthis and that they have agreed not to fight the United States,” suggesting the ceasefire between the US and Ansar Allah reached in May 2025 remains in effect.

French President Emmanuel Macron has hit out at Donald Trump after the US president posted a map depicting France’s archipelago of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon as US territory.

Trump posted an AI-generated image on social media earlier this month showing the US flag covering Canada, Mexico, Greenland, Central America and the Caribbean, as well as Iceland. Saint-Pierre and Miquelon, a small French overseas territory off the Atlantic coast of Canada with a population of just over 5,500, was also depicted as part of the “United States of America.”

Speaking to reporters after arriving in Saint-Pierre on Saturday for a two-day visit and talks with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, Macron said it was “obvious” that the archipelago remains French territory.

“We’re not going to reiterate this every morning because some people have strange ideas or say strange things,” he added.

Macron’s remarks came a week after the French UN mission issued an apology for a social media post that “called into question the US commitment to human rights.” In July, the mission had criticized Washington for voting against extending the mandate of UN human rights chief Volker Turk.

“The US used to be a beacon of human rights. Not anymore. Today, it stands alongside North Korea, Nicaragua, Mali & Russia, isolated. And the world no longer listens to it,” the mission wrote on X at the time.

Washington responded by delaying approval of Macron ally Aurelien Lechevallier as France’s new ambassador to the US.

Since returning to office in early 2025, Trump has revived his claims on Greenland, a self-governing Danish territory, and repeatedly suggested that Canada should become the 51st US state. He has also vowed to take control of the Panama Canal and issued threats against Mexico and Cuba, while saying that the US should “own” the Gaza Strip. In January, Trump ordered a commando raid in Caracas that captured Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, whom he accused of helping a drug cartel.

Trump’s push to acquire Greenland initially caused outrage in Copenhagen, prompting European NATO members to rally around Denmark. Nevertheless, the US, Denmark, and Greenland announced an agreement last week that Trump said would grant Washington “permanent control” over the Arctic territory’s security.
