I could be mistaken... It appears that Stan Grant is batting for the "empire"... Methinks Stan is reading the script upside down... Stan? History does not start in a week's time but it started a long way back... with the little Jesus bullshit... But I will let you say what you have to say (GUS):

As Putin draws closer to Xi, who among the leaders of the West will rise to their feet like Winston Churchill?

(Gus: I hope no-one is the West will try to act like Winston Churchill, because they will be dangerous by mistakenly misunderstanding the situation which is brewing, because of the West pig-headedness...)

The source for author Jordan Peterson’s recent claim that climate change cannot be modelled was a climate science denier who received money from a libertarian think tank funded by oil companies.

The Canadian psychologist was widely criticised for spreading climate misinformation this week after telling the popular Joe Rogan podcast’s 11 million subscribers that climate models were full of errors that increase over time, and that climate is too complicated to model accurately.

Russia is planning to fabricate a pretext for an invasion of Ukraine, by falsely blaming Ukrainian military for an attack on Russian-backed separatists or Russia itself, US officials say.

Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce has blasted the Liberal cabinet minister who leaked damaging text messages criticising Scott Morrison as “malicious”.

The messages between the so-far unidentified minister and former NSW premier Gladys Berejiklian were revealed by Network Ten earlier this week.

They labelled Mr Morrison as “horrible, horrible person” who was “actively spreading lies”. The minister also described Mr Morrison as a “fraud” and a “complete psycho”.

On Friday, Mr Joyce said the messages should be ignored because of the leaker’s intention to deliberately damage the government.

The anonymous crypto artist Pak is teaming up with Wikileaks founder Julian Assange for a collaborative NFT project titled “Censored,” to be released on February 7.

The date has particular significance for Assange, as it is the deadline for his lawyers to ask the U.K. Supreme High Court to reconsider the extradition case that the U.S. government has filed again him.

The two-part sale at a yet-to-be-determined venue will include a single-edition NFT and a “dynamic” open-edition NFT, reports the Crypto Times.

Ukraine invasion no longer ‘imminent’ – White House

The US is no longer using the word because it created an unintended message, says Jen Psaki

The US government is no longer using the word ‘imminent’ in its narrative around the alleged Russian ‘invasion’ of Ukraine, White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki told reporters, on Wednesday, explaining that it was sending an unintended message.

“I used it once. I think others have used that once, and we stopped using it because I think it sent a message that we weren't intending to send, which was that we knew that President Putin had made a decision,” Psaki said at a press briefing.

“I would say the vast majority of times I've talked about it, I've said he could invade ‘at any time,’”she added.

NSW Liberals are warning a worsening factional battle will spark “civil war” in the seat of Hughes ahead of the federal election and party members in the south Sydney electorate will not accept a candidate being imposed on them.

As Prime Minister Scott Morrison flags federal intervention to end the turmoil over preselections, branch members have been enraged by a purported plan to install former Young Liberals president Alex Dore as the candidate for Hughes, held by turncoat MP Craig Kelly, ahead of other nominees including state Liberal MP Melanie Gibbons.

The United States has finally responded to the Russian proposal for a Treaty guaranteeing peace, but it is to refuse to debate the Kremlin’s arguments. At the same time they have organized a vast communication campaign accusing Russia of preparing an invasion of Ukraine in February. This was firmly denied by Kiev. A mixture of hysteria and confusion is spreading within NATO, which London is taking advantage of to awaken the stay behind networks. Meanwhile, the Sino-Russian axis is strengthening.

Gladys Berejiklian really does make the most human of mistakes. First, she got into a questionable relationship, and now she’s been caught out bitching about a work colleague in text messages. Scott Morrison is a “horrible, horrible person”, she apparently texted to an unnamed Liberal cabinet minister. “Absolute psycho,” the minister replied.

Now, I don’t have a great deal of sympathy for our Prime Minister, but OUCH.

Still, we can’t take text-bitching too seriously. I mean, which one of us hasn’t vented in a text message about what a horrible psycho our colleague/boss/parent/ex-partner/current partner/kid/friend/sibling is?

The Americans suffer from an inferiority complex

The way the Americans solve this problem is to feel superior to everyone else.

This is easily verifiable. They decided that A<B should become A>B… A being Americans and B being everyone else...

The Western civilisation originated mostly in Europe — Greece, Rome — and partly in the Middle-East — Babylon, Egypt et al.

The Yanks grew from a group of escaped deluded believers: the Pilgrims. They created a society of honest thieves. Rather than discovering the road of enlightenment, the Americans became a deeply religious arcane country where freedom to own a gun became a commandment like the first law of thermodynamics.

Lynton Crosby, the Australian campaign guru, will “be around” to give strategic advice to the prime minister without being given a formal job in No 10, according to Tory sources.

Boris Johnson buoyed Tory MPs on Monday night by revealing he had rehired the strategist, who helped with the party’s election campaigns in 2015 and 2017. MPs and aides claim they already detect the hand of the “Wizard of Oz” in No 10’s fightback against the partygate scandal.

However, Crosby, who is currently in Australia, will not be taking on an official job that could clash with his business interests and may not spend that much time “physically in the building”, according to sources.
