On names and security:
We do require a full name (at least first initial and surname), a username and an email address. Electoral information is optional. In the tradition of Webdiary we prefer it if people use their real names as their usernames if possible. But there are security reasons why you may not wish to do so. The debate about the pros and cons of using a real name occured as soon as the site opened. It is here.
