TAXPAYERS are set to give two Coalition frontbenchers an extra $45,000 a year pay which legislation says they're not actually entitled to. It solves a sensitive problem for Opposition Leader Tony Abbott whose shadow ministry is too big. In December the independent Remuneration Tribunal decided that shadow ministers should receive a premium on their pay of just short of $45,000 to take into account their extra duties. However, the number of shadow ministers was limited to the numbers in the Government's ministry.
The comment echoed Ms Gillard's line from Question Time yesterday - that Mr Abbott "has an unhealthy kind of obsession with the so-called faceless men in the Labor Party - what he really should be obsessed about is the useless men sitting behind him".
