Historic Achievement for NSW Students, Teachers and Parents

Today the Prime Minister and I announced NSW would be the first Australian State to agree to the “Gonski” national education reforms.  

This is great news for students, teachers and parents. It will mean more resources and a fairer system – and assist our aim of higher standards and a better education for our children.

The agreement will deliver an additional $5 billion for NSW schools as well as continue the NSW Government’s education reforms, including improving literacy and numeracy, raising teaching quality and empowering principals and school communities to make local decisions.  

I am proud of this historic reform which could not have been achieved without your advocacy. I congratulate you for your efforts.

But Tony Abbott was less than impressed about NSW singing on the Prime Minister Julia Gillard Gonski education reforms, so he muttered something about Julia being desperate...

Tony always adds too much to the sauce to denigrate Julia, while HE IS THE ONE WHO SOUNDS MORE AND MORE DESPERATE... At no stage of her tenure as Prime Minister, has Julia appeared to be desperate. Only eager to get things moving — despite a hostile idiotic Conservative opposition and a Scheiße-media who wants her to fail...

Meanwhile Tony is still harping on about turning "the boats" around, which is an ACT OF PIRACY for which Australian Navy captains would be charged with, in an international court. Tonicchio claims that turning the boats back was the policy of the Howard government, but it never was. NO BOAT got ever turned back under Howard...
