die Debatte

die Debatte

promises, promises...

"They're saints," Mr Maloney said. "They are the most professional people I've ever met. They are just so dedicated and so dedicated."
On a roll, he told Mr Abbott he ought to "tell your state colleagues to pay them more" - public hospitals being a state government responsibility.
Mr Abbott agreed, "They don't get paid enough, teachers don't get paid enough." He then tried a compliment: "I suspect that most nurses don't do it for the money."
He quickly realised how it might sound. "Of course, " he added, "the money's always good".
A nurse standing nearby nodded and said with a half smile: "Yes."

----------------------------------
If you are old enough and not gaga enough in the head from one of the old people's diseases, you would remember that Tony made some CORE promises in 1994 when he was "health minister"... Then having been re-elected, he reneged on the promises, blaming his colleagues (as sociopath usually do) for stopping him to honour "his pledge"... A bit further down the track, he also insulted the sick and cut more than one billion dollars from the health system... If you believe Abbott and his cunning daggy face, you've got rocks in your head...
Go see a psychiatrist and don't vote for this double-dealing spruiker...

all creatures, great and small...

We should be excruciatingly worried that business (big or small) place its hands on the Australian economy... It would be like letting the fox in charge of the hen-house. You can imagine the rest...

Abbott is a raging iddiott...

meanwhile, buying sinking boats...

Questions now to Abbott:

Q: Boat buy backs - won't you just stimulate boat building in Indonesia?

This is a common sense measure that will give our people scope, working with Indonesian authorities, to stop the boats, Abbott says.

Q: How much Australian taxpayers money will go to buying Indonesian boats?

It makes a lot more sense to pay a few thousand in Indonesia than millions in Australia. I won't put a figure on it. We'll make the money available for people on the ground, Abbott says.

Q: What are these bounties? Who handles the cash.

People on the gound will work that out in cooperation with the Indonesians. We need action. Action. Action.

Q: What if Indonesia won't cooperate with this; and what if people resist?

We need to do something different here. Abbott says, otherwise the problem persists. We are trying to maximise the range of options available for our forces.

Q: What if Indonesia doesn't agree?

It's in Indonesia's interests to stop the boats. Indonesia wants us to succeed - they just want us to be serious about the job.

Abbott is not only dangerous, he is DELUSIONAL... Abbott wants to buy crummy boats in the ports of Indonesia to stop people smugglers.... How many crummy boats are there? 20, 1000, 200,000? who knows but the last figure might be closer to the mark in a country of 242,325,638 people in 2011.... Then what do you think people smugglers would do? Carry on the business with better boats... better boats that can be scuttled easily, before being forced to "turn back"... thus "in need of rescue"... And nobody is challenging Iddiott Abbott on this ludicrous idea?...

Abbot is a dangerous fool, and a pirating iddiott who has no idea about the way the world works...

crazy abbott loses his marbles...

Immigration Minister Tony Burke described the Coalition's boat buyback scheme as ''simply crazy policy''.
''We are talking about a buy back scheme in a market of three quarters of a million boats,'' he said.
''Of all the mad ideas I have heard in immigration I think the boat buy back wins.''
Mr Burke also suggested the Indonesia government might not be thrilled about the Coalition making a ''unilateral'' decision to send thousands of federal police officers onto the ground in Indonesia.
Prime Minister Kevin Rudd said on Friday that the Coalition's latest announcement was ''genuinely interesting policy, this one''.
''Mr Abbott's plan to have . . . [a] three-star general sitting at the end of a jetty with a cheque book to buy back fishing boats in Indonesia'', was as irresponsible as the Opposition Leader's $5.5 billion-a-year paid parental leave scheme, Mr Rudd told a press conference in Penrith on Friday morning.
Labor frontbencher Bill Shorten also rubbished the plan.
''This is crazy. The opposition are getting desperate,'' Mr Shorten told reporters in Melbourne on Friday.
''Wait until the news gets out throughout South-East Asia that if you've got a leaky unsafe boat that the Australian taxpayer is going to buy it off you.''
