the president saves the world...President Donald Trump's administration has revoked a landmark guidance issued to public schools in defence of transgender student rights, reversing course on a signature initiative of former Democratic president Barack Obama. Key points:
Mr Obama instructed public schools in May 2016 to allow transgender students to use the bathrooms matching their chosen gender identity, threatening to withhold federal funding if they should force transgender children to use bathrooms against their will. The Obama guidelines had already been put on hold by a federal judge, after 13 states sued, but the Trump administration withdrew them. Even without that hold, the guidance carried no force of law. But transgender rights advocates said it was useful and necessary to protect students from discrimination. The Justice and Education departments will continue to study the legal issues involved, according to the new, superseding guidance that will be sent to public schools across the country. Reversing the Obama guidelines stands to inflame passions in the latest conflict in America between believers in traditional values and social progressives, and is likely to prompt more of the street protests that followed Mr Trump's November 8 election. read more:

better not to pee at federal level...
The original protocol, which was issued in May 2016 by then-President Barack Obama directed public schools and colleges that receive federal funding to allow transgender students to use whichever restroom that match their gender identity.
The Obama administration guidance was based on its interpretation of Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, which prohibits sex discrimination in schools.
As Title IX reads: “No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.”
The original “dear colleague” letter issuing the guidance says that schools “must not treat a transgender student differently from the way it treats other students of the same gender identity.”
Though the guidance was not legally binding, schools were warned they could face lawsuits or lose funding if they did not follow the new guidance.
The two-page memo from the DOJ and DOE cites the US Court of Appeals, which concluded that the term “sex” in the previous guidelines was “ambiguous and deferred to what the court characterized as the ‘novel’ interpretation advanced in the guidance.”
The DOJ and DOE decided to rescind the old instructions, “in order to further and more completely consider the legal issues involved.”
After the federal guidelines are lifted, the Trump administration will leave the issue to the states, as Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos said in a statement.
"This is an issue best solved at the state and local level," DeVos said. "Schools, communities, and families can find – and in many cases have found – solutions that protect all students."
During a press conference, White House press secretary Sean Spicer confirmed that the issue would be left up to the states, saying that “certain issues like this are not best dealt with at the federal level.”

a trump in shining armor...
Last year, on the eve of the conference he has organized for eight years, Ian Coleman messaged a few of his Facebook friends with an odd request. “I need you to out me as trans,” he told them. “My event is suffering because people don’t think they can go to the bathroom. They don’t trust me when I tell them it’s safe.”
Despite Texas’s recently passed bathroom bill, the hotel in Dallas was ready to accommodate the crowd of masters, slaves, sirs, bois, daddys and puppies in whatever bathrooms they would like. (It was, after all, also hosting their workshops and oral history discussions.)

the french save paris...
“NO PEEING IN PARIS,” the catchy chorus sung by comedian and YouTuber Swann Perisse, gives a clear understanding what the video – shot in a striking color palette of yellow – is all about.
Perisse and cast members in the video do everything possible – and probably impossible – to urge men not to urinate in public in the city of love and romance. The comedian, who wears a toilet paper ball gown matched with her yellow lipstick, pops her head through a yellow toilet seat and rushes to the toilet to pee.

Meanwhile in Australia:
The Work for the Dole scheme expanded this week, with long-term unemployed people now required to work longer and less flexible hours.
Under the changes, announced in the last federal budget, welfare recipients aged 30 to 49 need to complete 50 hours of work-related activities per fortnight, up from 30.
So what's it like working for the dole? And how effective is the program at getting people into work?
We asked jobseekers, an employer, a union and an industry group for their perspective. They revealed concerns about a lack of training, unsafe workplaces, sexual harassment and low income—but there were also positive stories of success.
'I just want to get back into teaching'Three months ago Belinda was looking forward to her Work for the Dole (WFTD) placement at a local charity, an evangelical church.
She'd been told she'd be doing administration tasks, and had hoped to pick up some computer skills. Instead she found herself dusting plastic champagne glasses and cleaning toilets.
"I said to my WFTD manager 'I don't know how cleaning a bathroom is going to help me get a job'," she says.
"I've got two degrees and I just want to get back into teaching but it's like, 'just don't talk about that'."

scomo saves the toilet world...
Prime Minister Scott Morrison has rejoined the debate over gender-inclusive toilets.
Liberal Senator Claire Chandler could be dragged before the Tasmanian Anti-Discrimination Commission after saying women’s toilets were for people of the female sex and should remain that way.
Mr Morrison said there was nothing wrong with her comments.
“It’s common sense and I would urge a more common sense approach on how some of these agencies operate,” he told Sydney radio station 2GB on Thursday.
“The Tasmanian one has had form on other issues in the past. I think people just expect common sense in these areas.”
It isn’t the first time Mr Morrison has felt it necessary to flush out what he sees as excessive pandering to gender sensitivities.
Last year, the Prime Minister criticised a gender-inclusive toilet sign on display in his department, describing it as political correctness and over the top.
The sign encouraged staff to use the bathroom that best fit their gender identity.
Mr Morrison said the sign was not necessary and vowed to “sort it out”.

multi-gender restrooms...
The problem:
The Supreme Court of the United States has once again revealed that they are robed invertebrates when it comes to hearing and deciding issues of grave safety concern to most of our citizens, deferring instead to political correctness.
On June 28, 2021, the Court declined to hear a Gloucester County, Virginia, transgender case, which required transgender students to use unisex bathrooms. The issue could have been addressed and if a constitutional issue was revealed, they could have shown some leadership in issued opinions. This might lead to settling the question in a way mutually acceptable to those experiencing gender dysphoria and those not suffering from the disorder by following the lead of other states.
The solution:
Illinois, for example, passed a law that requires all single-occupancy public bathrooms be labeled as gender-neutral and designated for no more than one person or family at a time.
The Metro (Marickivlle division) solution:
All restrooms are Multi-Gender and there is a cleaner with a mop and anti-bacterial stuff working after every flush, once the customer has gone. All the gizmos are either press-button or like in some parks in Perth, Australia, voice activated (warning if you are deaf).
This is where you can see portraits of the local celebs including pollies, watching over you...
