The way the U.S. provoked and now sustains its Ukraine proxy war is no more ethical than its invasion of Iraq. If people can’t see this, it’s because the propaganda around the latest war hasn’t cleared from the air yet.

War criminal George W. Bush and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will be appearing at an event on Wednesday at the George W. Bush Presidential Center, in partnership with the U.S. government-funded narrative management operations Freedom House and National Endowment for Democracy. 

The goal of the presentation will reportedly be to address the completely fictional and imaginary concern that congressional Republicans won’t continue supporting U.S. proxy war efforts in Ukraine.

CNN reported last week:

“Former US President George W. Bush will hold a public conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky next week with the aim of underscoring the importance of the US continuing to support Ukraine’s war effort against Russia.

The event, which will take place in Dallas and be open to the public, comes amid questions about the willingness of the former president’s Republican Party to maintain support for Ukraine.

‘Ukraine is the frontline in the struggle for freedom and democracy. It’s literally under attack as we speak, and it is vitally important that the United States provide the assistance, military and otherwise to help Ukraine defend itself,’ David Kramer, the managing director for global policy at the George W. Bush Institute, told CNN. ‘President Bush believes in standing with Ukraine.’ “

 

To be clear, there is absolutely no reality-based reason to believe Republicans will meaningfully shy away from full-scale support for arming and assisting the Ukrainian military. The proxy war has only an impotent minority of opposition in the party and every bill to fund it has passed with overwhelming bipartisan support. Some “MAGA” Republicans have claimed that funding for the war would stop if the GOP won the midterm elections, but they were lying; there was never the slightest chance of that happening.

Bush, you may remember, drew headlines and laughter earlier this year with his Freudian confession in which he accused Vladimir Putin of launching “a wholly unjustified and brutal invasion of Iraq — I mean, of Ukraine.” The fact that the president who launched a full-scale ground invasion which destabilized the entire region and led to the deaths of over a million people is now narrative managing for the U.S. empire’s current aggressively propagandized intervention says everything about the nature of this war.

Also appearing with Bush will be the leader who’s slated to become the face of the U.S. empire’s next proxy war, Tsai Ing-wen of Taiwan. CNN says:

“Taiwan’s President Tsai Ing-wen will also take part in the event next week. She will deliver a recorded message, in which she is expected to underscore that the struggle for freedom is a global challenge.”

And sure, why not. If you’re going to manufacture consent for proxy warfare against multiple powersas your empire flails around frantically scrambling to prevent the emergence of a multipolar world, you may as well save time and promote them all on the same ticket.

Many people who support the U.S. proxy war in Ukraine now recognize that the Iraq war was a horrific disaster, but Ukraine isn’t the good war, it’s just the current war. 

Western propaganda means people always oppose the last war but not the war that’s currently being pushed. The U.S. provoking and sustaining its Ukraine proxy war is no more ethical than its invasion of Iraq; it just looks that way due to propaganda.

It is only by the copious amounts of propaganda our civilization is being hammered with that this is not immediately obvious to everyone. In the future (assuming we don’t annihilate ourselves first), the propaganda will have cleared from the air enough for people to look back with clarity on 2022 and realize that they were lied to, yet again.

It’s easy to oppose the last war. It’s hard to oppose current wars as the propaganda machine is shoving them down our throats. Everyone’s anti-war until the war propaganda starts.

Russia has not carried out any strikes against targets near the Polish-Ukrainian border, the defense ministry in Moscow said on Tuesday, following reports of a missile striking the village of Przewodow and killing two civilians.

Some Western media outlets and politicians have claimed that Russia is responsible for the incident. However, no evidence has been provided to support such assertions.

Missile fragments, photos of which were published by Polish media outlets on the scene, “have nothing to do with Russian weapons,”the Russian Defense Ministry said.

Statements by the Polish media and officials about the alleged ‘Russian’ missiles falling in the area of the village of Przewodow are “a deliberate provocation in order to escalate the situation,” the Russian military added.

Poland convened an emergency meeting of its national security council on Tuesday evening, after reports that at least two civilians were killed when one or more missiles struck the village in the Lublin region, just across the border with Ukraine. 

While the AP reported that Russian missiles had crossed into Poland, citing an unnamed “senior US intelligence official,” the Pentagon declined to corroborate the claim.

“I can tell you that we don't have any information at this time to corroborate those reports and are looking into this further,” Air Force Brigadier General Patrick Ryder told reporters, when asked about the Przewodow incident.

Polish government spokesman Piotr Mueller called on the media and the public “not to publish unconfirmed information.”

Officials from the Baltic states blamed Russia and claimed that Poland should invoke NATO’s Article 5 in retaliation. Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky accused Russia of “terrorism” and said NATO needed to “act” against this “attack on collective security.”

When a government has fun with such things in France, the left and the unions, cry out loud and call for the streets. But this is in Ukraine. So the left and the French trade unions are raising anti-Russian hatred and agreeing to finance, support, arm Zelensky.

The Kiev City Council voted to remove the Russian language from the Ukrainian capital’s public school curriculum on Thursday, citing national security concerns.

According to the statement on the council’s website, the ban also covers nursery schools.

Vadim Vasilchuk, the chair of the council’s commission on education, said the measure “will prevent an escalation of tensions in society and strengthen the protection of the education space in Kiev from the hybrid activities of the enemy state.”

“Language matters, and, in a time of war, it is an issue of national security,” Vasilchuk added. The legislator said all classes would be taught in Ukrainian, the country’s sole state language.

The move came after Alexey Danilov, the head of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, described the Russian language last month as “an element of enemy propaganda” that “must completely disappear from Ukrainian territory.” 

In August, Ukraine’s Education Ministry said that nearly all works of Russian and Belarusian authors would be removed from literature classes.

The Kiev regime is sparking outrage [NOT MUCH IN THE WEST] once again as videos of Ukrainian militants wearing Nazi paraphernalia are surfacing once again as pro-Kiev militants stream into the Kherson.

Ukrainian forces began publishing propaganda celebrating their arrival in Kherson on Friday, after entering the city with minimal resistance following last week’s announcement of the tactical withdrawal of Russian-aligned forces.

In the days since, the videos have taken a darker turn, with footage now showing residents accused of “collaboration” being bound, gagged, and blinded by Ukrainian troops. As the violent tactics unleashed by Ukrainian troops on the civilian population escalate, so does the public scrutiny of the ideology of many of the city's new occupiers, and even a cursory glance reveals an unnerving fixation with Nazism.

According to video and photos published by anti-Russian media, multiple Ukrainian troops arriving in Kherson bore the logo of the SS Dirlewanger Brigade. As one reporter noted, the notorious Nazi formation was “arguably one of the most horrific SS units of the war, made up of convicted murderers, rapists and pedophiles and committed innumerable brutal war crimes.”

In addition, multiple videos emerged showing a Ukrainian armored vehicle decorated with a flag bearing a Nazi Reichsadler ("Imperial Eagle") design crossed with a Nazi Sonnenrad (“Black Sun”) symbol.

Among the residents who declined to relocate to Russia, signs of Nazi sympathies have begun to appear as well. In a video clip aired by CNN, a civilian waving a Ukrainian flag can be seen greeting pro-Kiev militants with what appears to be a Nazi salute.

Wagner denies involvement after mercenary killed in Ukraine

Yevgeny Prigozhin, head of the mercenary group, accuses the US of executing Yevgenny Nuzhin, who reportedly switched sides to join Ukrainian forces.

 

Yevgeny Prigozhin, the head of Russia’s mercenary Wagner group, has denied it had any involvement in the execution of one of its fighters in Ukraine.

Last week, a social media account linked to Wagner shared unverified footage of a man identified as a former mercenary being killed after declaring that he had switched sides in September to “fight against the Russians”.

In the footage, the man, who gave his name as Yevgeny Nuzhin, 55, was shown with his head taped to a brick wall. He said he was abducted in Kyiv on October 11 and came around in a cellar.

“I got hit over the head and lost consciousness and came around in this cellar,” he said. “They told me I was to be tried.”

As he said those words, an unidentified man in combat clothing behind Nuzhin was seen smashing a sledgehammer into the side of his head and neck.

Nuzhin collapsed onto the floor and the unidentified man delivered another blow to his head.

The video appeared on the Grey Zone Telegram channel, one of several that Russian media has said was linked to the Wagner group. The footage was posted under the title, The hammer of revenge.

Asked to comment on the execution video, Prigozhin said on Sunday in remarks released by his spokeswoman that the video should be called, “A dog receives a dog’s death” and labelled Nuzhin a “traitor”.

“Nuzhin betrayed his people, betrayed his comrades, betrayed consciously,” said Prigozhin, who has been sanctioned by the United States and European Union for his role in Wagner.

But on Tuesday, the 61-year-old denied Wagner’s involvement and accused US intelligence services of being behind the killing, without providing evidence to support his claim.

“I asked Wagner employees whether they abducted Evgeny Nuzhin and if they participated in his torture. None provided information of participating in his abduction or torture,” Prigozhin said in a letter addressed to Igor Krasnov, Russia’s prosecutor general, and published on Russia’s VKontakte social media service.

“For me, it is very clear that Nuzhin was abducted and violently killed by agents of the US intelligence services,” he added, and called for Krasnov to open an investigation into the killing.

The Russian rights group, Gulagu.net, which advocates for prisoners in Russian detention, has said that Nuzhin was in prison in Russia before being recruited by Wagner to fight in Ukraine.

 

Prigozhin, a close ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, has been accused of personally participating in a recruitment drive by offering contracts at Russian prisons, pledging that those who surrender or are captured would be killed.

In September, he disclosed for the first time that he had founded the Wagner group in 2014.

Originally staffed by veterans of the Russian armed forces, Wagner’s mercenaries have fought in Libya, Syria, the Central African Republic, Mali and Ukraine, among other countries, in recent years.

Earlier this month, the group opened its first official headquarters in Russia’s second city of Saint Petersburg.
