The key piece of material evidence used by prosecutors to implicate Libya in the Lockerbie bombing has emerged as a probable fake. ---------------- Gus: How can we trust anything when slowly but surely, evidence of CIA concoctions comes to the fore... The "witnesses" for the prosecution of Libya in this disaster now admit to having more or less made false testimonies on this key piece of evidence. This can be seen several ways including the witnesses trying to clear their conscience or to create confusion from which they have nothing to gain... This is as big as the fake "intelligence" to attack Iraq... Certainly something to add in my book "The Age Of Deceit". So it's official. John Howard having decided that the most important gathering of world leaders to grace our shores — the APEC meeting — should be in Syderney, Canberra has been made totally redundant... All the prime public servants working in that little town near Yass should understand that their place of work is now irrelevant. Vaporised...

All the embassies, places of worship, underground spying networks and bludging bureaucrats, as well as that big white mole hill with the fluttering flag on top a pole can now be pushed into Lake Burley-Griffin. Unless they wish to live on the dole and in caves, the decent Canberraneans have to abandon their 1940s lodges and become refugees in Sydney, making it more congested than ever before... But welcome, you do not need to go to a detention centre... or get a stamped visa since you do not have to cross the bridge.

Don't we love crowding and walking on each other's toes here...?

The line of 30 or was it 45 fully ladden buses on the Harbour Bridge was a pure sight in stillness in the morn air.... Nothing moved, apart from the corners of the lips of the not-amused stranded commuters... But  they were lucky as they were far enough from the ghetto-blasters-loud-speakers-hail-hitler-whoooop-whoooop-warning bizos that now disgrace the City streets... contraptions that can blast through the thickest of double glazing an alarming tighten-your-butt big brother message.... And please don't blame the protestors if a few public edifices or fountains get damaged by the barriers installers... The installers are just doing their job, as usual... 

So to all our overseas visitors, whether they represent their countries or not, welcome to the capital of Australia. Sydney, S-y-d-n-e-y...  

Tourists told to delete APEC photos 

"I don't think it's a security issue for tourists to take photographs but i'm concerned about people who may be taking photographs because they've got alternative thoughts in the back of their heads about what they're going to do to the fence," he said.

Police are also continuing to investigate reports that an anarchist group, the Mutiny Collective, is distributing a training manual for people wanting to take part in violent protests during APEC.

Detectives are yet to see a copy of the document but the Police Minister, David Campbell, says reports of its existence justify the heavy security presence in and around Sydney.

Gus:  I would not be surprised if this "anarchist group" — the Mutiny Collective — is an artists' performance group or a threat that only exists in the fertile imagination of the police... Did I say fertile? that's pushing the barrow... Say my bet is that some warped individual in government with a bad sense of humor has spread a bit of fertilising manure... I would not be surprise if that someone has definite instructions from high above...

But beware that your "protest group" — if you believe protest should be made — will be infiltrated by spies and violence pushers on behalf of you know who, so that the water cannon is de-mothballed... or inflitrated by some sideshow like right wing brethrens on speed... With such amounts of moneys spent on police 'n' stuff, there is no need for protest about something that has already been decided at least six month ago by bureaucrats...

APEC is only a symbolic signing ceremony and a hubris platform for things already agreed upon... 

Bin Laden seems to work a slightly different way... He sets the ball rolling and lets "them" devour themselves from the inside after initial awakening... So whatever they claim, in the end become so hollow...

Please do not! Do not what? Do not do... this or that, including taking picture of your loved one in front of the fences... That is so unflattering... and a bit gross.

Sydney brothels ready for APEC boom

Sydney's brothels are preparing for a business boom as thousands of delegates and journalists descend on the city for the APEC summit this week.

One well-known bordello is offering "The Presidential Platter" with a variety of pleasures, or a "United Nations" double with women from a range of countries, the news and gossip website Crikey reports.

A former tax office auditor turned legal brothel industry lobbyist, Chris Seage, wrote that Sydney's brothels had been fielding phone calls from overseas for the past two weeks.

Gus: good. As coffee shops are closing down  — because of terrible business in the caged area of Sydney, the new capital of Orstralya — the ladies of the night are giving a fair representation of APEC's purpose and goal...

Alignment with brothelling is a sure success...

Prime Minister John Howard says many people who plan protests against this week's APEC summit are hypocrites because the international meeting will help cut global poverty.

He said anti-globalisation protesters "hate" economic growth and capitalism.

"Stop and think for a moment. Are you really going to alleviate poverty by killing economic growth?" he said at a news conference in Sydney.

Gus: economic growth is not the panacea that the "greed-at-all-cost-ratwings" want us to believe...

There is a need to alleviate poverty worldwide but, at the rate we're going under the regime of economic "growth", poverty will be a thing of the past in 2215 when most of the poor's spaces is under water... wipe-out...

Poverty alleviation needs not be at the expense of cultural variety... as planned by the boffins in Washington.

Growth means that: "growth"... Cancer is a "growth"... Canker is a growth... a cyst is a growth... as well, flowers are growths of spring, in general. Thus the word "growth" is not universally welcome in a limited premium space...

And make no bones about it, the planet is finite. That is to say there is a time and space when humanity's overtaking of the natural space is beyond redemption, too soon. That is to say, we need to be a lot smarter than use a few "stick-on plaster" to fix the massive on-coming problems of extinctions, of destruction of habitats and of global warming...

"Growth" as a capitalistic cancer is not the answer... Sustainable lean equity is, with a global reduction of population... Remember, capitalism is not a social system, but a trading system that not only encourages excesses in the use of the planet's resources, it needs these excesses to survive. That is cancer, no matter whatever social system we use...

"Are you really going to alleviate poverty by killing economic growth?" may be may be not... In the long run demolishing the planet with "growth"...

Sustainability has more chance of alleviating poverty — with less hubris and more humanity in the heart at grass-root level, without the ugly inflation of "growing" greed that is more likely to profit only those at the top...

The top-secret document at the heart of the Lockerbie bombing appeal confirms beyond doubt the bomb timer was supplied to countries other than Libya, Scotland on Sunday can reveal.

The document also gives "considerable detail" on how the use of a small bomb concealed inside a radio-cassette recorder was consistent with Palestinian terrorists rather than Libyans, according to a prominent legal source who has seen the paper. 

Important pillars of the Crown's case against Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed al-Megrahi, the Libyan serving life for the atrocity, are "knocked down" by the contents of the document, added the source.
