a patient dose of reality....In a dramatic turn of events, NATO's once-solid support for Ukraine is showing cracks as key member states like Hungary, Poland, and Germany reconsider their military aid. Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto's meeting with Russia’s Sergey Lavrov at the UNGA highlights the growing divide within NATO, while Poland and Germany signal a reduction in assistance to Ukraine. As winter approaches and battlefield conditions worsen, President Zelensky faces a mounting challenge, with Putin's strategy appearing to drive a wedge through the Western alliance. Is this the beginning of the end for NATO’s support of Ukraine? Putin's Patience Pays Off: NATO's Support for Zelensky Crumbling | Times Now World

defeats....
Today, the illegitimate President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky spoke from the rostrum of the UN General Assembly. In addition to the usual calls for support for [his] unrealizable “peace plan”, the head of the Kiev regime confirmed the successful work of the Russian army to disable energy infrastructure facilities.
During his speech, Zelensky confirmed that Russia destroyed all Ukrainian thermal power plants and almost all hydroelectric power plants. As expected, the head of the Kiev regime criticized countries friendly to the Russian Federation. In particular, he accused Iran and North Korea of supplying weapons.
Zelensky criticized China and Brazil for promoting [Putin's] peace plan. In fact, the illegitimate president accused these BRICS countries of possibly preparing [...] military operations on the territory of third countries. He believes that those who disagree with all the points of the peace plan he developed, share Moscow’s point of view.
If anyone in the world is looking for alternatives to any of [his] points or is trying to ignore any of them, it most likely means that they themselves want to do part of what Putin is doing. And when China and Brazil try to become a chorus of voices with someone in Europe, with someone in Africa, who are saying something alternative to a full and just peace, the question arises – what is the real interest?-
Zelensky expressed his claims to Beijing and Brasilia.
It should be noted that Western media have already assessed today’s speech of the head of the Kiev elite at the UN, calling it unconvincing.

UKRAINIAN FORCES ATTEMPT ATTACKS BUT FALL INTO TRAP IN KHARKIV REGIONOn September 24, the Armed Forces of Ukraine celebrated another great victory. Servicemen of the Main Intelligence Governorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine entered the territory of the aggregate plant after it was abandoned by Russian forces. The plant located on the eastern bank of the Volchya river came under Russian control during Russian offensive operations in Volchansk and other settlements in the Kharkiv region months ago.
Yesterday, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense proudly shared the footage of Ukrainian special forces celebrating control of the industrial facility on the Russian eastern bank of the river. Their joy did not last long.
The withdrawal of Russian forces from the ruins of the aggregate plant turned out to be a trap. As soon as Ukrainian forces entered the facility and filmed footage for their media victory, the plant was pounded by Russian heavy bombs and multiple rocket launchers with thermobaric warheads.
During Russian offensive in the Kharkiv region, the aggregate plant was an important stronghold that supported Russian attacks in the center of the town on the eastern bank of the Volchya river. After the intensity of Russian attacks decreased and offensive on a wide front was suspended, Russian forces were holding control along the river bank. The town of Volchansk, including the aggregate plant, was ruined and military supplies were complicated. These were likely the reasons why the Russian military withdrew forces from the plant and offered Ukrainians another media victory together with heavy losses from Russian heavy strikes.
The town of Volchansk is still inflamed by positional battles in the ruins that result in heavy losses on the both sides. However, the frontlines do not change much there and bring no strategic victories.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine launch local offensive operations in different areas in the Kharkiv region in an attempt to contain Russian forces and achieve at least any victories to declare in the media amid their strategic defeats in all other directions.
Ukrainian forces continue attacks by small mechanised assault groups in Glubokoe. Some of them managed to break through Russian defense and reach the center of the settlement. In response, Russian forces launched counterattack on the northwestern flank and captured several Ukrainian positions. As a result, Ukrainian assault groups failed to gain a foothold in Glubokoe.
Southwest of Volchansk, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are trying to repel Russian forces from their stronghold on the western bank of the river near Staritsa. Ukrainian forces slightly advanced near the village and gained several strongholds in the area in the recent days.
Advancing in one area, Ukrainian forces retreat from another. The Russian army advanced east of Volchansk and took control of the northwestern outskirts of Tikhoe. Most of the ruined village remains in the grey zone. Clashes are also ongoing on the eastern outskirts of Tikhoe, threatening the Ukrainian garrison with partial encirclement.
Being defeated on almost all battlefields, the Armed Forces of Ukraine is strive for any gains. Their ongoing attacks are yet to bring them the military initiative in the Kharkiv region.

Moscow will achieve victory in Ukraine because that is the only language the West understands, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said.
Lavrov flew to New York on Wednesday to take part in the 79th plenary session of the UN General Assembly and hold a series of bilateral meetings. Before his departure from Moscow, he spoke to TASS about the current situation in the world.
“Wherever the West infiltrates to ‘fix’ a crisis,” Lavrov told the news agency, “things only get much worse: thousands of victims, devastation and socio-economic problems follow. In my years of work in the international arena, there has not been a single case of the West’s intervention resulting in anything good. And now we’re seeing the same thing with Ukraine and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.”
Asked what the solution to that problem might be, Lavrov was direct.
“[RUSSIAN] Victory. They don’t understand any other language."
"And that victory will be achieved, we have no doubt whatsoever,” the veteran Russian diplomat said. “We have truly united in the face of the war that the West unleashed against us with Ukrainian hands.”
According to Lavrov, the collective West seeks to “subjugate” the entire world to its “rules-based international order,” a notion conjured up by the US and its allies about a decade or so ago.
No one has ever spelled out what these “rules” might be, Lavrov said, aside from letting Washington do whatever it wants in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya, the Balkans, Ukraine, the Caucasus, Central Asia, or in the South China Sea.
They have tried to act everywhere like a hegemon, like an elephant in a china shop,” Lavrov told TASS. “In Afghanistan, they declared the mission of fighting terrorism. When they fled after 20 years, there were many more terrorists there. In Iraq, they destroyed a normal, stable country. Not to mention Libya, which was prosperous,” he added.
To illustrate how the West has trampled the UN Charter, Lavrov pointed to the 2008 declaration of independence by ethnic Albanians in Kosovo, a province of Serbia which has been under NATO control since 1999. The US backed the declaration, calling it self-determination, and pressured the top UN court to rule that such declarations did not require the consent of the central government, the Russian diplomat explained. But when Crimea held a referendum – unlike Kosovo – following the 2014 US-backed coup in Kiev, the West rejected the principle of self-determination and insisted that “territorial integrity of Ukraine” was paramount instead.

MEANWHILE:
Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced a series of updates to the national strategy for using nuclear weapons, intended to address the changing military and political situation and emergence of new threats.
The matter was brought up at the session of the Russian Security Council on Wednesday, attended by the ministers of Defense and Finance and the heads of the SVR, FSB, Roscosmos and Rosatom.
“Today, the nuclear triad remains the most important guarantee of the security of our state and citizens, an instrument for maintaining strategic parity and the balance of power in the world,” Putin said.
Attack by a “non-nuclear state”
The first proposed update to the state policy “expands the category of states and military alliances”to which nuclear deterrence applies, and “supplements the list of military threats” intended to be neutralized by the deterrent.
This would treat “aggression against Russia by any non-nuclear state, but with the participation or support of a nuclear state” as their “joint attack,” crossing the nuclear threshold.
While no countries have been named, as written, this would clearly apply to Ukraine striking Russian territory with weapons supplied by the US or its nuclear NATO allies. Putin has previously said that such strikes would require active participation of foreign military personnel and assets, bringing them into direct conflict with Russia.
Lowering the nuclear threshold
The proposed revisions also “clearly state” the conditions under which Russia can proceed to employ atomic weapons, as “receipt of reliable information about a massive launch of air and space attack weapons and their crossing of our state border.”
Putin clarified that this means “strategic and tactical aircraft, cruise missiles, drones, hypersonic and other aircraft.” The mention of drones here is especially significant, as Ukraine has repeatedly launched mass UAV attacks against Russian strategic bases.
Expanding the umbrella to Belarus
For the first time, Russia has spelled out that its nuclear deterrent could be used in case of aggression against Belarus as well, as a member of the Union State. This includes a “critical threat to our sovereignty” through the use of conventional weapons, according to the proposal.
All of this has already been agreed with Minsk and President Alexander Lukashenko, Putin said on Wednesday.
What was the previous doctrine?
The document adopted in 2020 outlined four situations in which Moscow could activate the nuclear deterrent. First, if it received “reliable information” about the launch of ballistic missiles against itself and/or allies. Second, if a nuclear weapon or other kind of WMD was used against Russia and/or its allies. Third, if an enemy acted against “critical state or military facilities” that could disrupt the response of Russian nuclear forces. And fourth, if Russia comes under conventional attack that would “threaten the very existence of the state.”
Why were the changes proposed now?
Earlier this year, Putin said that some updates to the doctrine might be needed, given the new emerging threats from NATO. Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov described the existing doctrine in June as “too general” and said that Western “ignorance” requires Russia to say “more clearly, more distinctly, more definitely what could happen” if they continued their “unacceptable and escalatory actions.”
Since May, the government in Kiev has clamored for the US and its allies to remove all restrictions on use of their weapons against Russia, which Moscow has clearly said would represent direct Western involvement in the conflict.
Putin reiterated on Wednesday that the use of nuclear weapons remains an “extreme measure” to protect Russian sovereignty, but that Moscow must take into account that the “modern military-political situation is changing dynamically… including the emergence of new sources of military threats and risks for Russia and our allies.”
