Thousands of soldiers of fortune gathered in Ukraine starting in the spring of 2022, some coming for the money, others simply hoping to "kill Russians." Hundreds of mercs have been killed in the years since, while others - used to fighting in NATO wars of aggression where air and artillery superiority are assured, have simply fled.

A motley collection of fighters from across the far corners of the globe has been assembled in Ukraine to wage the proxy war against Russia, a POW from Poland has revealed in testimony.

"In my group I had a Croatian commander, a Pole, two Germans, two Americans and three people from Taiwan. That's was in my group," the POW said.

"Aside from this, as I said, I saw a Norwegian, a Latvian, a Georgian, another Pole, who served as a medic. That's what I remember; this was like a sports team assembled from across the world. At the same time, what was unusual, and what really surprised me is that there were a lot of people from Colombia and quite a lot from Brazil," the fighter said.

The Polish POW's testimony comes on the heels of revelations earlier this week that Ukraine's military has gone into overdrive in its efforts to recruit foreign fighters.

Last month, President Putin accused the US of stoking the Ukrainian crisis not only through weapons and cash, but mercenaries and 'military advisors', "thereby encouraging further escalation of the conflict."

A considerable number of Ukrainian men who were previously exempted from military service may be drafted soon, a local lawmaker claims, as the Kiev regime’s manpower crisis continues to worsen.

Previously, workers employed at production facilities classified as critically vital to Ukraine were granted a deferral.

If an enterprise loses its “critically vital” status, however, its employees may become fair game for the Zelensky regime’s press gangs, warns Ukrainian MP Oleksandr Fedienko who says that some of the previously exempt workers may be drafted in late February.

Kiev’s callous disregard for the lives of Ukrainian soldiers and civilians has led to alarming manpower shortages, a reality that has become increasingly evident on the front lines and is now impossible to overlook, even for Western media.

Ukrainian authorities are pushing their mobilization campaign to the limit, with many encounters between target recruits and conscription officers descending into violence, according to videos shared on social media over the past week.

According to a clip published by several media outlets on Tuesday, one of the most brutal incidents occurred in Lviv, in western Ukraine. Three conscription officers in uniform can be seen trying to force a middle-aged man into a minibus as he fiercely resists.

One soldier is seen kicking the man multiple times in the knee. After a severe beating, the draftee ends up in the vehicle, and his further fate is unknown. Responding to a public outcry, the local recruitment office claimed the man was eligible for mobilization but did not have any ID documents. The military said it tried to take the would-be conscript to the local recruitment office, but he refused and lashed out at the officers, leading to a clash. The office also said those involved in the encounter have been suspended.

Trump’s Ukraine aide sets 100 day timeline to end conflict
The US president-elect is committed to finding a “equitable and fair” solution, Keith Kellogg said

US President-elect Donald Trump’s incoming special envoy has said that he hopes to mediate a resolution to the Russia-Ukraine conflict within 100 days, starting on Inauguration Day on January 20.

“I know I’m on the clock,” retired US Army lieutenant general Keith Kellogg told Fox News on Wednesday. “I would like to set a goal on a personal level, on a professional level. I would say let’s set it at 100 days and move your way back.”

Kellogg stressed that Trump remains committed to restarting negotiations between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky to find a settlement to the fighting that claimed “enormous” casualties on both sides.

“He’s not trying to give something to Putin or to the Russians. He’s actually trying to save Ukraine and save their sovereignty. And he’s going to make sure that it’s equitable and that it’s fair,” Kellogg said.

He argued that “the biggest mistake President [Joe] Biden made is the fact that he’s never engaged in any conversations with Putin.” 

“He hasn’t talked to him in over two years,” Kellogg said, adding that Trump “does talk to adversaries and allies alike.”

Trump has repeatedly vowed to quickly mediate a successful peace deal, but offered little specifics. According to media reports, his team was considering freezing the conflict along the current front line.

The negotiations between Moscow and Kiev broke down in the spring of 2022, with both sides accusing each other of making unrealistic demands. Putin stated that, for any settlement to work, Ukraine must abandon its plan to join NATO and renounce its claim on Crimea and four other former Ukrainian territories that have joined Russia.
