when the US president sets the standards.....

President Donald Trump has vowed to pursue not only the assassin of conservative activist Charlie Kirk but also those he accused of funding and fueling “radical left” political violence across the United States.

In a video statement posted Wednesday night on Truth Social, Trump described Kirk, 31, as a “patriot”and a “martyr for truth and freedom,”praising him for inspiring young Americans through debates on college campuses nationwide.

“Charlie was the best of America, and the monster who attacked him was attacking our whole country,” Trump said. “An assassin tried to silence him with a bullet, but he failed, because together we will ensure that his voice, his message, and his legacy will live on for countless generations to come.”

US President Donald Trump has called for capital punishment for Decarlos Brown, who brutally stabbed a 23-year-old Ukrainian woman on a train in Charlotte, North Carolina last month.

The incident came into the national spotlight after the CCTV video of the grisly incident was released over the weekend. In it, the 34-year-old perpetrator is seen attacking Iryna Zarutskaya from behind, stabbing her several times in the neck shortly after she took a seat. The woman bled out and died at the scene soon thereafter.

The assault was apparently unprovoked, with no exchange between the two preceding the stabbing, judging by the footage.

In a post on his Truth Social platform on Wednesday, Trump wrote: “The ANIMAL who so violently killed the beautiful young lady from Ukraine… should be given a ‘Quick’ (there is no doubt!) Trial, and only awarded THE DEATH PENALTY.”

On Sept. 2, U.S. President Donald Trump said the U.S. Navy had sunk a small boat in international waters and claimed that the 11 passengers on board were gang members transporting drugs. Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio hailed the strike as a sign of the administration’s commitment to its fight against drugs entering the United States. But the operation violated traditional procedures in verifying and seizing the contents of the ship and detaining the personnel, duties typically performed by the Coast Guard, raising questions about the real mission of U.S. naval operations off the coast of Venezuela.

A few weeks earlier, a fleet of naval ships and a nuclear submarine were mobilized to the southern Caribbean. The buildup came after a secret directive from the president called on the military to use force against Latin American drug cartels. The administration asserts that one of those groups, Venezuela’s Cartel of the Suns, is headed by President Nicolás Maduro of Venezuela.

President Donald Trump called the bombing of three nuclear facilities in Iran a "spectacular military success".

He called on Iran to quickly bring peace or said the US would go after other targets with "speed" and "precision".

"This cannot continue. There will be either peace or there will be tragedy for Iran, far greater than we have witnessed over the last eight days," Trump said in an address to the nation from the White House.

Israel initially attacked Iran earlier this month, while the Americans and the Iranians were in nuclear talks. Trump urged Iran to continue negotiations, but on Saturday he went ahead with strikes.

Washington provides Israel with billions of dollars in military assistance annually despite allegations of rights violations that would make the country ineligible for security aid under US law.

UN experts and leading rights groups have accused Israel of committing genocide in Gaza.

Stacy Gilbert, who resigned from the US Department of State last year after a 20-year career in protest to a government report denying that Israel is blocking aid to Palestinians, said on Thursday that the starvation in Gaza is the result of a “deliberate” decision by Israel.

“I am calling on Trump to make a break with this policy that started under Joe Biden, this disastrous policy of unconditional military support for Israel,” Gilbert told reporters.

absurdity.....

A nation ruled by a dangerously absurd political class

BY Hernando CALVO OSPINA

This is one of the most absurd, incoherent, bizarre, aberrant, senseless, and illogical situations that the highest representatives of the American regime have committed since I can remember...
I was going to tell you about some of the absurd laws and regulations that have been created in the United States, both federal and state. I was almost at the end of my text when something happened that made me laugh out loud, it seemed so unreal.

This is one of the most absurd, incoherent, bizarre, aberrant, senseless, and illogical situations that the highest representatives of the American regime have committed since I can remember. There are probably thousands of others, but this episode seems so, so childish to me that, the more time passes, the harder it is to believe.

The incident has already been widely commented on and analyzed. All the world's media outlets have covered it, but few have questioned the official version. Since it seemed unreal to me, and entirely in line with what I was planning to write, I decided to include it here. But I will also continue by reporting a small selection of nonsense produced in this country that presents itself as the "beacon of humanity."

On September 2, President Trump announced to the world that his armed forces had destroyed a "ship" loaded with thousands of tons of "poison" en route to the United States. When I saw the images—proudly shown on television—I burst out laughing. The "ship" was actually just a "peñero," a typical Venezuelan fishing boat, recognizable by its pointed prow. Do you know how much fuel it takes to travel, at least, the 2,200 kilometers that separate Venezuela from the United States? Anyone who owns a car or a boat can easily calculate this. So, in a space as small as this vessel's, it's impossible to install such a large fuel tank: the sheer weight would cause it to sink.

Marco Rubio, Secretary of State and apparently the "mastermind" of this operation, attempted to correct this by claiming that the "lethal attack" (in his words) was carried out against a boat heading for Trinidad and Tobago. This might seem more credible, since the distance between Venezuela and the first island of the Trinidadian nation is only 16 kilometers. But the story still doesn't add up: he and his chief insisted that the action took place in international waters. They completely forgot that between these two nations, there are no international, neutral waters, only shared waters.

For nearly a month, eight ultra-modern warships have been stationed off the Venezuelan coast. With them: fighter jets carrying 2,200 missiles, attack helicopters, spy planes, a nuclear submarine, and 6,700 Marines. All this at a cost of approximately $7 million per day. Such a military deployment is supposedly intended to stop—once again—the trafficking of cocaine and other "filthy drugs," as Trump puts it. And the only result shown: the destruction of a simple boat!

Why are such basic data as the date and time of the action missing from the images? Another curious detail: the Pentagon, which is the country's Department of Defense, said nothing. Probably out of shame.

Another simple question: however bold you may be, would you dare cross this area with a boat full of cocaine, knowing that such a military deployment awaits you? Trump could have sought advice on how to conduct these operations from Colombian President Gustavo Petro, whose authorities have extensive experience in this area (it must be acknowledged that this government has demonstrated that it is possible to combat drug trafficking with great consistency).

Even he could have sought advice from me! I would have explained to him how a boat is intercepted: you surround it with ships and helicopters, fire warning shots... and inevitably it stops. This has been proven a thousand times. They allegedly captured 11 supposed "narco-terrorists" from the Venezuelan group "Tren de Aragua" to be shown and interrogated, along with the "tons" of "merchandise." But no: they bombed the boat, drowned the drugs, and murdered 11 possible witnesses. In short, they erased all evidence. The next day, September 3, at a press conference in Mexico, Marco Rubio was questioned about his claim that the "toxic products" were being transported by the "Tren" and on the orders of President Nicolás Maduro. He didn't respond. Nothing!

It was just that we had to wait for the military's explanation. But as I said, the Pentagon seems in no hurry to comment on this crude fabrication, undoubtedly invented by Rubio himself, who, let's remember, has extensive experience, having rubbed shoulders with the Cuban counter-revolutionary mafia in Florida. The very same mafia that sponsored and promoted him. Not to mention that he lived for several years in Miami in the house of a cousin, a major drug trafficker.

Reagan and Bush Sr., his vice president, played it smarter when they launched the "war on drugs" in the 1980s. Several spectacular "operations" were later revealed to be false thanks to subsequent official research, but at least they seemed credible to the public—and for many, they still remain so. Poor Trump, I almost feel sorry for that money-grubbing merchant.

But let's continue exploring other absurdities produced by this nation. It's true that the entire history of the United States is riddled with extravagant decisions by its political leaders. They have created countless idiotic regulations and laws that surpass those of any other country. Here are a few examples (and yes, don't laugh, this is serious!):

If you own an elephant and take a walk with it in Florida, consider yourself lucky, because if you tie it to a parking meter, you'll pay the same rate as for your car (in which you may have transported it). In Atlanta, however, if your pet is a giraffe, be aware that it is illegal to tie it to a lamppost or telephone pole. In Missouri, it is illegal to travel with a live bear in your car. Be careful: in Alabama, driving blindfolded is against the law.

In Colorado, I don't know why, but the law prohibiting owners of black cars from driving on Sundays has been repealed. In Denver, it's illegal to lend your vacuum cleaner to a neighbor. In Alabama, it's against the law to have an ice cream cone in your back pocket. In Miami Beach, you can't sing in public in a bathing suit. In Kentucky, every citizen is legally required to take at least one bath a year. In Minnesota, it's against the law to cross the state line with a duck on your head.

And also: if you walk down a Kansas street wearing a striped T-shirt, you can be pretty sure no one will throw knives at you, because it's against the law. In Alabama, salting a railroad track is punishable by death. In Alaska, shooting a bear is legal, but waking it up to photograph it is absolutely forbidden. In Florida, it's illegal to fart in a public place after 6 a.m. on Thursdays. In Virginia, it's against the law to have sexual intercourse with an animal weighing less than 40 pounds.

As for sexuality, this society has serious problems on this subject. This is understandable, however, if we remember that the moral foundations of this nation were established by two fundamentalist religious sects in the 17th century.

Did you know that since the 1970s, possessing two or more vibrators (called "obscene devices" in the law) in the home has been a crime in Arizona. The question remains how to control the quantity... In several states, you must not be caught performing oral sex, or be known to have performed it, because the law will punish you. Being married is not a valid excuse.

Washington seems to be spared this law, otherwise Bill Clinton would have ended up in prison for his "affairs." This affair nearly cost him the presidency in 1998, when he denied before Congress that Monica Lewinsky, his intern, had performed fellatio on him at the White House. Before this scandal, he had lied about wars and crimes against humanity, even flouting the Constitution, but without facing any consequences.

You may not know that in 1986, the United States Supreme Court upheld the constitutionality of laws criminalizing sodomy between consenting adults, whether homosexual or heterosexual. States like Georgia could punish "sinners" with 20 years in prison. Even though the Supreme Court overturned these laws in 2003, several states still retain them in their codes, such as Michigan, where sodomy and oral sex are still punishable by 15 years in prison: We should know how to build trust to go to the doctor.

With such legal and political absurdities, how could anyone trust the leaders of this nation?

fear-mongering....

The Fear-Mongering Rackets of the US National-Security State
by Jacob G. Hornberger

The end of the Cold War in 1989 provided a fantastic opportunity for a major reset in relations between the American people and the people of Russia, China, Cuba, North Korea, Vietnam, and other nations that US officials had long designated as official enemies of the United States. For almost 45 years following the end of World War II, US officials had inculcated a mindset of deep fear among the American people — fear that the Russians, Chinese, and other communist nations were coming to get us.

It was all one great big racket designed to justify the conversion of the US government from our founding governmental structure of a limited-government republic to a national-security state, a type of totalitarian-like governmental structure that wields omnipotent powers, such as the power of engaging in state-sponsored assassinations.

Fear-mongering, propaganda, and indoctrination are central to a national-security state governmental structure. The national-security state must convince the citizenry that there are scary enemies coming to get them so that the citizenry will continue to support and embrace the national-security state governmental structure and the ever-increasing power and taxpayer-funded largess that is necessary to sustain it.

The racket worked almost perfectly. Americans fell for it hook, line, and sinker. “The Russians are coming!” people cried. “The Reds are everywhere!”

One big exception was when President Kennedy achieved a personal “breakthrough” after the Cuban Missile Crisis by recognizing that the Cold War and the anti-communist crusade were nothing more than one great big racket. After he vowed to bring the racket to an end in his Peace Speech at American University in June 1963, the US national-security establishment dealt with him in Dallas five months later.

Thus, the Cold War racket continued all the way until 1989, when the Soviet Union suddenly and unexpectedly dismantled itself. The Berlin Wall came crashing down and West Germany and East Germany recombined into one nation. The Warsaw Pact dissolved, Russian troops withdrew to Russia, and Eastern European countries gained their independence.

There was an obvious readiness among Russian officials to do a complete reset with respect to relations with the United States. They made it clear that they desired to establish a world of peaceful and friendly relations. The same held true for China, notwithstanding the fact that it was still headed by a communist regime. The same was true for Cuba.

This was a time of great optimism and hope for the American people and the people of the communist world. Why, for a few years afterward, there were even libertarian conferences being held in both China and Russia.

But the hope and optimism did not characterize the US national-security establishment — i.e., the Pentagon, the CIA, and the NSA. Remember: They needed big official scary enemies to justify their existence. They knew that many Americans were advocating a post-Cold War “peace dividend,” which would have entailed a severe reduction in military-intelligence spending. There was even the danger that Americans might even begin demanding the restoration of their founding governmental system of a limited-government republic.

The US national-security establishment was not going to let that happen, at least not without a big fight. A deadly invasion of Iraq, followed by 11 years of brutal and deadly economic sanctions against the Iraqi people, produced the “blowback” of the 9/11 retaliatory attacks. The national-security establishment was back to the races, this time replacing communism with terrorism as the new official enemy of the American people.

At the same time, however, they never gave up hope of restoring the Cold War to America. It had proven to be too lucrative a racket to simply let it go. If they could combine their “war on communism” racket with their “war on terrorism” racket, they could virtually guarantee that the national-security state governmental structure would remain a permanent and perpetual part of the US government.

That’s why they used their old Cold War dinosaur NATO to begin moving eastward toward Russia, absorbing former members of the Warsaw Pact in the process. It wasn’t exactly consistent with the peaceful and friendly world that people had in mind at the end of the Cold War.

Moreover, once the US national-security state became mired in forever wars of aggression in Afghanistan and Iraq, US officials could see that China and Russia were prospering, especially given that they weren’t mired in such wars. They could also see that China and Russia were gaining popularity and influence around the world, while there was ever-growing animosity toward the US and its forever deadly and destructive propensity toward war and aggression.

That’s when the US government decided that it was time to “degrade” both China and Russia and initiate the continuation of the old Cold War racket. A vicious trade war and a brutal system of economic sanctions were launched against China, with the aim of diminishing the economic prosperity of that nation. Moreover, the old Cold War dinosaur NATO was used to provoke Russia into invading Ukraine, which provided US national-security state officials with the opportunity to use Ukraine as a proxy or agent to give Russia its own “Afghanistan,” thereby “degrading” Russia through the loss of tens of thousands of Russian soldiers and ever-increasing war expenditures.

Thus, what began with lots of hope and optimism at the end of Cold War I ended up with Russia and China being restored to the top tier of America’s official enemies as part of Cold War II.

According to a recent article in Politico, however, the US government is now shifting its attention to Latin America, using its decades-old, ongoing, never-ending, perpetual drug war as its excuse. That shift in official enemies is clearly reflected by the new US obsessiveness with Venezuela’s socialist dictator Nicolás Maduro.

The irony is that when Cold War I ended, the Pentagon, the CIA, and the NSA were so panicky over having lost Russia as their official enemy, they were suggesting that they could help fight the drug war as their new mission. And so here they are — with their new official enemies — drugs and drug lords in Latin America.

Don’t think for a minute, however, that they are giving up on Russia and China as official enemies. They are just hedging their bets by adding more official enemies to keep the American people agitated and afraid. In that way, Americans will continue to look on the US national-security state to keep them “safe” and “secure” from all those scary official enemies.
