Joyce backs sale of Telstra
Queensland Nationals Senator Barnaby Joyce says he will support the full privatisation of Telstra.
His decision effectively puts to rest the tough political debate within Federal Government ranks on whether the sale can proceed.
Senator Joyce says his Queensland colleagues have given him the nod to vote for the Government's $3 billion plan to complete the sell-off.
But Senator Joyce has one last demand of the Federal Government: he wants the Universal Service Obligation which protects basic phone services to be strict.
