White 'not interested' as Jones firms for Wallabies Former Australia coach Alan Jones has formally applied for the vacant Wallabies post, but South Africa's World Cup-winning boss Jake White is a non-starter. More than 20 years after guiding the Wallabies to a grand slam triumph in Europe, Jones, now a high-profile Sydney broadcaster, threw his hat into the ring before applications for the Wallabies' job closed late on Friday. While Jones promised to return the Wallabies to the style of running rugby, White said through his agent that he was not interested in taking the helm of the Australian national team after he steps down as Springboks coach next month. White 'Not Interested' As Jones Firms For Wallabies ----- Gus: Jones has long been a supporter of John Howard and his radio program reflect this... Lately his radio ratings have taken a bit of a dive, although he's still numero uno... Could it be an omen? His departure from the Sydney airwaves would be seen as a blessing by some... But who knows...Sometimes it's better to have a one-eyed horse than a blind one...

Vale Micki
Let it be said "Micki" was a great woman... I had met her a few times... She was Alan Jones' personal assistant secretary-cum-producer for many years... She died too young, aged mid fifties from a vicious aggressive cancer... Service is tomorrow (Friday 7 December 2007) in Woollahra, Sydney... Recently, she had been "poached" by Eddie McGuire... and may one say, Jones might have been heart broken then, but Jones was not bitter and supported Micki in all she did — in the same way as she had served Jones so powerfully, yet so discreetly and quietly... Jones would be devastated by her passing and may we offer our sincere condolences to all who knew her, including Alan. Vale Micki...
