swimming against the torrent.....

The United Kingdom is set to announce new sanctions against Russia on Monday, marking three years since Moscow's invasion of Ukraine, UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy said Sunday.

"This is also the time to turn the screws on [Vladimir] Putin's Russia," Lammy said in a statement.

 "Tomorrow, I plan to announce the largest package of sanctions against Russia since the early days of the war — eroding their military machine and reducing revenues fuelling the fires of destruction in Ukraine," he added.

The UK has already imposed sanctions on 1,900 people and organisations with connections to Putin's government since Moscow invaded Ukraine in 2022.

UK sanctions come as Trump shifts US position

The announcement of the new sanctions comes at a time when the US has taken charge of ending the warbetween Russia and Ukraine.

US President Donald Trump has in recent weeks sidelined Ukraine and its European supporters from talks with Moscow on the war.

"This is a critical moment in the history of Ukraine, Britain and all of Europe... Now is the time for Europe to double down on our support for Ukraine," Lammy said.

"Off the battlefield, we will work with the US and European partners to achieve a sustainable, just peace, and in doing so, remaining clear that there can be nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine," he added.

In addition to sanctions against Russia, Lammy's statement also included a pledge to provide £3 billion ($3.78 billion, €3.61 billion) annually to Kyiv and "being ready and willing to provide UK troops as part of peacekeeping forces if necessary."

UK Prime Minister Keir Stammer is due to meet Trump next week in Washington, amid hopes he could bridge the widening gap between Europe and the US under Trump.

impotent insignificant....

The strategic unthinking of the Europeans caught in the Trump 2.0 tornado

BY Erno RENONCOURT

Clearly, Donald Trump's second term is causing geopolitical waves of unprecedented brilliance on the world stage. And this is being felt violently in global geopolitical theatres, particularly in Europe; but also in the local US theatre. However, it is surprising to see the shock and dismay that these chaotic waves, although suspected, or even announced, are causing among the pro-Europeans. And it is precisely these postures that we want to problematize in this column: to show that the shock and dismay of European leaders faced with the new direction, prioritizing "the golden age of America" to the detriment of outdated alliances, that Trump wants to impose on global geostrategy, is respectively a matter of impotence and insignificance. The whole value of this issue lies in the fact that behind these two postures of body and mind, there is the obvious manifestation of a profound strategic lack of thought. In this two-part column, we propose to prove that this strategic unthought, because it is in truth the characteristic of a cultural deficiency displayed by all Western elites and even those called progressive in the world, can be imposed as the explanatory variable of the invariance of the crimes of capitalism and the triumph of fascist ideas everywhere on the planet.

And to do this we will explore the following questions: Where does this strategic void come from, observable everywhere in the high decision-making spheres of the world? How is this void, evident among those who have the privilege of knowledge and power (political and economic), a measure of the collapse of the cultural imagination and the erosion of the identity of peoples under the pressure of globalist deviances imposed as universal values? If this link between strategic unthought and cultural deficiency is proven, can it not conversely explain the Putin-Trump strategic alliance, which dislocates the globalist cultural software, not as a simple pragmatic calculation between two autocrats, to share the spoils of Ukrainian rare earths, but as the conjunction of views between Putin's Russia and Trump's America on strong traditional values that place identity at the center of the life of nations? Does this new deal, because it redraws the global political landscape, not reflect what Marcelo Ramirez calls "The obsolescence of classical ideologies"?

The shockwave of deep-sea demining

It is no exaggeration to say that the Trump 2.0 tornado has caused new tectonic faults to emerge all along the fortress of globalized and wokized capitalism. And probably, some did not expect it, or were ill-prepared for it. However, all those with common sense knew that, given the thoughtless positioning of European leaders against Trump, since his sidelining, during the 2020 elections, by the deep state, and taking into account their servility towards Joe Biden's mandate, which was objectively only a disguised third term of Barack Obama, and yes, all those who are capable of thinking critically knew that this new Trump mandate would be against a backdrop of cracks and violent vengeful claws. But of course, those who have deserted critical thinking did not expect to see the 47th President of the United States deal such heavy blows against the opaque structures of the American Deep State (USAID, CIA, FBI, Mainstream Media, Big Pharma) and the globalist State, of which the European Union is the visible face. And Trump's desire to hurt is so great that he has managed to build around him a real team of deep-level deminers (Elon Musk, J. D. Vance, Tulsi Gabbart, Kash Patel, Robert Kennedy Jr.), each of whom seems to have obtained a mandate to attack a specific layer of the Deep State, and this in its ramifications both local (United States) and global (rest of the world).

Moreover, the confirmations of Tulsi Gabbart, Kash Patel and Robert Kennedy Junior to their positions are interesting in that they have offended the Western mainstream media, which saw in their profile the most controversial casting of Donald Trump. In fact, the Western media expected these three musketeers to fail their test in the US Senate. For good reason, they are the most loyal among Trump's loyalists and share several of his views postulated as being conspiratorial:

• The deep state, in its local American and global structures, maintains close ties with terrorist networks;

• Terrorist networks all over the world are only faults dug by the CIA to give the world the folds that suit the Great Western Barbarian;

• USAID's interventions in the countries of the South have been operations to destabilize the state structures of these countries by replacing them with an army of NGOs instrumentalized to promote human rights and LGBT;

• Russia was forced to react in Ukraine due to NATO provocation,

• COVID19 vaccines were imposed, despite their known ineffectiveness, to support Big Pharma in its obscure strategies;

• The justice system in European countries is increasingly being used to serve the globalist and woke order;

• The majority of mainstream Western and global media are subsidized by USAID funds.

These data, once linked together, allow us to understand why the mainstream media, as good watchdogs of the globalist order, targeted the main gunners of Trump's team, calling them all poorly qualified and all conspiracy theorists. And it is their structuring connection that allows us to problematize the bewilderment (powerlessness) and dismay (insignificance) of the Europeanists and globalists in the face of Donald Trump's new mandate. Since obviously, the warning signals of this shock wave were felt, long before the elections, all over the planet. But what matters most to us is to know if the proper appropriation of this fundamental problem can augur breaches for innovative lines of resistance outside of invariance?

From cultural deviations to strategic unthinking

In just less than a month after taking office, Putin's Agent Orange, as the FBI secretly calls him, has caused waves carrying heavy uncertainties for globalists. All those who imprudently sold Trump's orange mane before cutting off his head, find themselves destabilized and lost their bearings. Hence the shock of Europe, particularly its insignificant elites and its army of media, all-knowing analysts and CIA telegraph columnists who had openly taken up the cause of Donald Trump since the events of January 6, 2021.

But the astonishment of this caste of incompetents comes above all from the fact that since the COVID19 health crisis, it has not stopped sinking into the denial of reality and clouding international public opinion, by promoting the most improbable stories and supporting the most meaningless policies; provided that this reinforces the vision of the globalist and transhumanist elites. However, it is these globalist and transhumanist elites who are Donald Trump's priority target. Which undoubtedly explains his strategic rapprochement with Putin. And for good reason! Beyond everything that opposes them, Putin's Russia and Trump's America come together in a shared vision of defending the values that strengthen traditional culture and the identity of peoples. If Western elites and certain progressive and leftist factions of the world are so destabilized by the strategies of Putin and Trump, it is because they have long since abandoned the cultural and identity base, traditional and authentic, which forges the value of all strategic thinking from a state point of view.

And this is far from being a detail, because as all those who think in complexity know, "a winning culture can elevate strategy to unsuspected heights": Alain Charles Martinet, "Strategy and complex thinking", Revue française de gestion, No 93, 1993); (Jiyul Kim, "Cultural dimension of strategy and politics", Revue ASPJ Afrique et Francophonie, 2010). The error of a certain left, helpless since the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, is to have ignored the weight of culture in strategic choices. Which explains their unconditional alignment with universal values and their submission to the globalist injunctions of wokized capitalism. This left, losing its ideological bearings since 1991, has sought to survive by fleeing to the center and by leaning on the impostures of sustainable development, the fight against global warming, human rights and transhumanist injunctions; while they are only cultural deviations promoted on purpose to better collapse the collective imagination and the cultural identity of peoples, and break their resistance to the totalitarianism of the market. A perspective that Pierre Bourdieu had explained since 1998, recalling that the triumph of neoliberalism will depend on its capacity to destroy the collective structures that can resist and obstruct the logic of the pure market.

But when we think carefully, and remember that Albert Camus suggested that "everything that degrades culture is a shortcut to barbarism", we understand better that the wokist turn taken by neoliberalism is in reality only a democratic and cultural smokescreen to stupefy people and make them powerless by cutting them off from their roots and their identity. Which also explains the impotence of the left all over the world in the face of the invariance of the crimes of capitalism, because while claiming to fight the economic and political structures of capitalism, the left all over the world no less subscribe to the cultural and libertarian deviations of capitalism, forgetting that it is through culture that strategy is put into action.

Indeed, as Alain Charles Martinet says, “strategy is thought and put into action because situations pose problems” (“Research in strategy: a problem of granularity”, Revue française de gestion, No. 256, 2016). This implies that between problems and strategy, there is the cultural imagination as a constructor of meaning and weaver of links. It is through these links that reality takes shape through interpretation, which allows events to be linked in their context to give meaning to the uncertainties they contain. And when the cultural imagination collapses, there is no longer room for anything but the strategic unthought.

This is why the Trump paradox, because it poses a problem, needs to be analyzed through a strategically enlightened prism. Yet the progressive currents of the world, by dint of submitting to the woke injunctions of the globalist and transhumanist elites, have abandoned their own identity and cultural reference points, and find themselves uprooted and disarmed in the face of the uncertainties of the world. The unthought in which they live prevents them from giving meaning to events, because they are incapable of thinking in complexity. However, strategy calls for complex thinking (Alain Charles Martinet), since it is complexity that allows us to understand that the uncertainties brought by Donald Trump are more useful than some of the resistance movements on the left; since, while harming the peoples of the world, they no less amplify the faults under the strata of the cracked structures of capitalism. Thus, while being a convinced supremacist and fascist, Donald Trump also remains an uncontrolled fault that can lead to involuntary landslides under the strata of the capitalist fortress.

Hence our purpose, in the second act of this column, to problematize the primary approach with which certain progressive and leftist currents position themselves in relation to Donald Trump. They are content to analyze the individual in the prism of their ideological certainties, dwelling only on his terrifying supremacist face and his well-known racism. But this also involves a form of unthought, since since 1991, we have been living in the time of the end of certainties, and this requires a little more analytical depth to integrate uncertainties as a dark side that reflects the incompleteness of our understanding of reality. Hence the need for transversal skills, systemic methods and complex intelligence to appropriate reality no longer in terms of certainties, but of possibilities to explore along uncertain threads. And this is a chaotic property of social systems that is largely unknown among those who lock themselves in ideological certainties: according to complexity theory, once a system enters its chaotic state, the actors have no power to steer its structures, and even less so if they call upon their certainties. They must rely on their ability to give meaning to events, taking into account that each wave of turbulence contains both uncertainties and lines of flight towards equilibrium states adapted to disturbances and which, because they move away from the known, open the way to the unknown, a source of innovation and the unexpected (Soufyane Frimousse, “ Domptez l’imprévisible et l’incertain ”, 2022, EMS).

Clearly, being an activist and having left-wing convictions is no longer enough in the face of the uncertainty of the world. Today’s global theater is more complex, dynamic and connected than ever. It therefore requires an analytical capacity to appropriate events not for what they are in themselves, but for the meaning they acquire by trying to connect them to other data. Because nothing has meaning in itself. Similarly, Trump in himself, in his supremacist certainties and racist convictions, is not the issue of the debate. What is at stake are the uncertainties caused by the chaotic policies he has been implementing for almost a month, and which are proving to have a destabilizing geopolitical impact, both for the peoples of the world and for the opaque strata of globalized capitalism. From then on, we can no longer appropriate Donald Trump as a dangerous enemy for dignified peoples, but as a paradox that can facilitate the emergence of new fronts of resistance, where there is intelligence.

And it is because it has eroded its intelligence that Europe finds itself caught in the contrary winds that the Trump 2.0 tornado is blowing across the face of the world. And this European spanking is all the more significant, according to the strategic perspective sought here as a posture of peoples' awakening from impotence and invariance, that the last time the world experienced a progressive détente, of communion between peoples, dates back to Europe's exit from History in 1945. Should we recall that it is through its attempt to enter it again by breaking and entering underhandedly, by ignoring the will of the peoples, notably the French and the Dutch, who had all, by an overwhelming majority, rejected the European Constitutional Treaty, that it has become this threat to the freedom of peoples, as J.D. Vance, Donald Trump's right-hand man, courageously reminded Europeans recently? From the dream of power through denial to impotence in the face of contempt

In this sense, the strategic unthinking of the European elites perfectly explains the three stages of their revealed impotence in the face of the historic Putin-Trump alliance. First, there is the Munich slap delivered by J.D. Vance and the exclusion from the negotiations on peace in Ukraine, which symbolizes the stage of historical humiliation. Then, there is the stage of the frenetic diplomatic-warlike convocation of Emmanuel Macron, which reveals all his pathetic side and his over-publicized posture, since his ego cannot bear to find itself in the pits of history when he thought he was Jupiter flying towards Olympus. And finally, there is the eternal sterile agitation around the political fossil that is Zelenski.

All this impotence reveals that Europe has only existed as a power in the shadow of the American nuclear umbrella. Inflated by the certainty of the protection offered by the American nuclear umbrella, Europe believed that it was a power and that it could raise its voice, to the point of wanting to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia. Thus, rather than showing intelligence in securing its borders through good understanding with Russia and defending the interests of its people, Europe preferred to sacrifice the future of its population, sell off its economy and explode its industrial model to please the Americans. Like a warmonger, thirsty for impure blood and hungry for Russian corpses, it stood up to Russia, flower in hand, even though it was within range of Russian nuclear fire. Now the new American master decided, in a strategic reversal, to make peace directly with Russia, and by mutual agreement, the two real belligerents agreed to exclude both Europe and Ukraine. As in 1945, in Yalta, the Russians and the Americans will share part of Europe. And as always, the vanquished and the powerless followers have no honor, they are always excluded, like filth, from the feast of the victors. While Ukraine realizes that it was sacrificed on the altar of the rare earth business and that this war was never its own; Europe, for its part, discovers itself as the great cuckold of the proxy war that the America of George Soros, Bill Clinton, Bill Gates and Barack Obama led against Russia through Ukraine.

It is a real cataclysm that Donald Trump is causing, only one month after the start of his second term. The timing seems to announce great and profound upheavals. And we understand all the stupor of the Europeans who find themselves forced to assume their strategic stupidity and to take charge of their destiny that they have servilely abandoned, since 1991, in the hands of the US. And as Emmanuel Todd rightly says, "Europe may have gone to seek its death in Ukraine". And the bewilderment of the European leaders, faced with the contempt that the new master of the world now shows them, speaks of the depth of their strategic lack of thought, and their postures of revolt against the Trump-Putin axis are in truth only supplications to obtain a small place at the table of the powerful. But in their lack of thought, they do not understand this truth revealed by Emmanuel Todd: The Americans despise the Europeans for their servility.

From impotence to insignificance

Faced with this pathetic impotence, my thoughts go particularly to the French president, Emmanuel Macron: because to take oneself in one's dreams of power for Jupiter, to treat the poor who have nothing to be nothing, to insult African and Haitian leaders, by comparing them to idiots or ungrateful and to discover oneself, to be either a simple stepping stone on which the American master climbs, or a rag on which he wipes his boots as he pleases, has something pitiful and revolting. At least for those who are worthy. And that is the problem: does Europe still have worthy elites to get it out of the three stations of its impotence that are pathetic humiliation, frenetic over-mediatization and sterile agitation? Shaped and profiled, since the end of the Second World War, in the mold of Atlantic servitude, particularly since the collapse of the Eastern Bloc in 1991, European leaders did not expect to be seized, jostled, toppled with such violence and rejected with such contempt by their American master. But in fact, beyond their real impotence in the face of the new governance that Donald Trump wants to impose on the world, they find themselves like insignificant nobles begging for a place at the table of the powerful. This is the depressing spectacle that the Europeanists have once again given, who, under the leadership of Emmanuel Macron, hastily formed a war council of 8 foot soldiers ready to defy the Putin-Trump strategic axis. But these agitations no longer fool anyone, since everyone knows the tempo of the "half-empty verb" of European diplomacy, to use the word that Vincent Hervouët so aptly formulated, to speak of French diplomacy under Macron's rule. A whole ennobled insignificance!

And that's where the whole drama lies. European leaders do not realize that they are nothing but less than nothing. Vassalized by the US Empire to be protected from the communist threat, while they lived in the illusion of an alliance of protection between peers, the Europeanists did not understand that the world's benchmarks had shifted, and that the ideologies that justified the existence of NATO in 1945 had become obsolete since 1991. But far from taking the measure of this change of benchmark, to rethink their strategy in relation to the Empire and take charge of their destiny as a people in a sovereign manner, they have lived the last thirty years in such a great excess of their servile postures vis-à-vis the Empire, that they have let shine through, behind their impostures, as much their impotence as their insignificance. Seeing Macron gesticulating to want to continue the war against Putin, while behind the scenes he calls the journalist cutter from Saudi Arabia to ask him for a place in the souvenir photo, is quite pitiful.

But instead of analyzing the strategic errors, the cultural deviations that led them to this impotence, they rush into the wall of denial and cling to their dream of fighting Russia. War is their only project! At the same time, the mainstream media, which relay their propaganda, and most of which were financed by the dark funds of USAID (would we have known this officially without Donald Trump and his mine-clearers?), continue to stupefy world public opinion by making it believe that the War in Ukraine is solely Russia's fault and that it only began in February 2022. Not a single one has the decency to point out that if the Minsk agreements between Russia and Ukraine in 2015 had been respected and guaranteed by Germany and France, there would not be this bloodbath, this human waste and this hysteria that is making the world waver between all the fears of a nuclear skid.

The strategic unthought thus imposes itself as the emerging evil of globalism. Evil that in its powerless and insignificant manifestations structures the invariance of the geostrategy of dehumanization. And as such it invites introspection. And it is this introspection that pushes us to the second act of our problematization. Given this spanking that Trump is giving to the powerless vassals of Europe, who are in fact the launching pad of globalism and transhumanism, is it not necessary to have an open mind to more strategically appropriate the policies that Trump is leading during his second term? Must we eternally lock ourselves on the focal point of the activist prism and forbid ourselves from thinking about the antagonisms of the world in terms of possible structuring divergents provided that this contributes to preserving humanity and its dignity? This is not about sympathy for Trump’s fascist and supremacist ideas, but about intelligent thinking that allows us to see, against all myopia, the destabilizing impact of the policies of his second term on some of the most opaque and powerful structures of globalized capitalism. This will be the goal of our next article: to question the progressive myopia that prevents us from seeing that if the Trump 2.0 tornado manages to bug the cultural software of globalism, it thereby opens the way to cracks through which the strategic invariants of capitalism can erode.
