A Letter To Dick Cheney

a letter to dick cheney .....

Look, mate, you've done well enough out of Australia already. You've set up business processes where massive amounts of work have been denied to Australian interests in favour of your pet corporation Halliburton/KBR. Admit it- as CEO of a company you got them ready to make profits from a war that you helped orchestrate. Now there's talk you want more Australian troops as well.

Why were you given so much power? The combined influentual powers of high ranking in government and commerce are too dangerous to be allowed in public life. At any rate, none of your staggering level of influence was given to you by the Australian public.

I hope there are thousands of people waiting to greet you in Sydney on Thursday. I hope that everywhere you go American news cameras will see the displeasure of the Australian people at your presence here. When the US public sees that they're not alone in their dislike of you, it's going to hurt your polling. It's not going to do much for Prime Minister Howard either.

Anyway, I digress. In Australia you got a railway, defence contracts, aid contracts, water contracts... and who knows what besides... not a bad hand of cards. Not as much work as in Iraq no doubt, but if finally manage to globalise the war there will probably be plenty of repair work here too.

Personally I think you're despicable, Dick. You're working for your own power, and you don't care if people die for your cause. The fact that our Government is kissing your arse makes me nauseous.

People in Australia are wising up to you, Dick. I suggest that you bugger off as quickly as possible.

Yours Sincerely and With Much Venom.

Thanks

Thanks for the 'toon, Gus!

paying the piper .....

‘Military contracting giant KBR Inc. could be docked up to $400 million for improperly using private security companies in Iraq, the company disclosed this week.

The Army has already said it withheld about $20 million in payments to KBR's parent company, Halliburton, because the company's subcontractors used private security contractors, including North Carolina-based Blackwater USA. Army officials have said that private security companies were not allowed under Halliburton's main contract in Iraq and that the military was to provide security.

The Army began looking into the use of private security firms by KBR's subcontractors after a congressional investigation sparked by a series of stories in The News & Observer. KBR has won billions in contracts to provide troops in Iraq with basic needs.

In its annual report to the Securities and Exchange Commission on Wednesday, KBR said the Army was continuing to review its contract and that it would begin withholding more payments unless the company "can provide timely information sufficient to show that such action is not necessary to protect the government's interests." If KBR fails, it could lose $400 million in Army payments, although the actual losses could be lower, according to the report.’

A former chief executive of construction firm KBR Inc. has pleaded guilty to federal bribery charges in connection with the company's natural gas operations in Nigeria from 1995 to 2004.

The Justice Department said Albert "Jack" Stanley entered a guilty plea Wednesday in federal court in Houston to conspiring in a decade-long scheme to bribe Nigerian government officials in return for engineering and construction contracts.

As CEO of Houston-based KBR, Stanley headed a subsidiary within Halliburton Co., the oilfield services conglomerate whose chief executive from 1995 to 2000 was Vice President Dick Cheney.

dick joins the democrats...

Establishment Republicans are on the war path. They are determined, in unison with “woke” Democrats, to get rid of Donald Trump come November. In 2019, a number of these Republicans formed the so-called “Lincoln Project,” an organized effort to trash Trump and throw support behind Joe Biden, thus once again demonstrating there is very little difference between establishment Republicans and Democrats.

On June 27, Darth Vader of the neocons, former vice president and war criminal Dick Cheney, joined the establishment “resistance” to the reelection of Trump.

Biden: Trump Shouldn’t Blame China For The Virus, People Can’t Make The Distinction ‘between a South Korean and someone from Beijing’

I was literally getting ready to go to sleep when former Vice President Joe Biden’s gaffes hit social media like a firestorm. Honestly, I’ve never laughed as much as I have tonight.

I know I should be more sensitive to the situation because I’m actually concerned about Biden’s well being. But his statements are just mind blowing and Democrats are avoiding the elephant in the room.

Biden actually said during his online discussion that President Donald Trump is wrong to hold China accountable for the Coronavirus outbreak because Americans can’t distinguish “between a South Korean and someone from Beijing.”

Yikes.

The Democratic presidential hopeful also made strange comments and gaffes during the online appearance regarding nurses that tended to him at Walter Reed. He said that nurses would drive home to get him pillows and some of them would blow in his nose to get him to move.

If I’m actually asleep and dreaming this I hope someone wakes me up.
