the implications of post-colonial diplomacy "superiority"......

Foreign Minister Penny Wong invoked the power of shared colonial histories in a speech during her recent visit to the United Kingdom.

The statement was clearly carefully prepared and framed but, judging from her recorded comments, it seems that she has not thought through the implications of the adoption of radical post-colonial diplomacy. Rather, she promises stale continuity that has little prospect of achieving her goal of “reshaping the region”.

our favourite covid moment? this is confidence for you and science will win......

THERE IS A BIT OF A BARNEY AT PRESENT... APPARENTLY JORDAN TRISHTON WALKER, ALLEGEDLY FROM PFIZER, SPILLED SOME BEANS TO PROJECT VERITAS ABOUT "COVID-19, PFIZER'S RESEARCH AND THE mRNA VACCINE UNFORTUNATE SIDE-EFECTS". NOW, THE QUESTION BEGS TO BE ASKED IS "HAS JORDAN TRISHTON WALKER EVER BEEN WORKING FOR PFIZER?" DESPITE A FEW SPELLING MISTAKES ATTACHED TO HIS MIDDLE NAME, DOES HE KNOW ANYTHING — OR IS HE JUST BULLSHITTING? OR IS IT A SET UP BY PROJECT VERITAS?

polishing hunter's turds.....

The Biden Administration is finally reacting to the scandals that have arisen from the computer of the president’s son, Hunter Biden. This loser, whose only known activities are those of a junkie and a pimp, managed to become the director of a large gas company; a job he knows nothing about. A man of straw, he signed all sorts of big contracts, in different countries, where he travelled -without right- in official US planes. His father is now launching an operation to cover up his affairs, which has led him to clean up the Ukrainian government.

when god is confused by 2000 years of mis-translation, it's time to pack up the accoutrement.....

Liberal Christians are pushing the Church of England to abolish gendered references to God from scriptures and services, the Telegraph reported on Tuesday. Describing God as a man, they argue, is a “theological misreading.”

The argument was brought up at a sitting of the General Synod – the Church’s lawmaking body – this week. According to the Telegraph, the Reverend Joanna Stobart of Bath and Wells asked the Liturgical Commission what steps were being taken “to develop more inclusive language in our authorized liturgy.”

Stobart said that she wanted more options to “speak of God in a non-gendered way,” and more prayers that didn’t refer to God “using male pronouns.”

the nazi cockroach has friends....

Recriminations have broken out among EU officials after a possible visit by Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, to Brussels was leaked, raising concerns over his security.

Zelenskiy was reported to be planning a trip to Brussels this Thursday to meet EU leaders in person at a summit and address the European parliament in an extraordinary session.

and the cockroach said: "I regret that I have but one life to give for my country.".......

The foundational story of the United States of America is its fight for freedom against tyranny. Every schoolchild learns of how the American revolutionaries fought bravely to be freed from the tyranny of King George III of England. They learn the indomitable freedom fighters’ heroic sayings, such as “Give me liberty or give me death!” and “I regret that I have but one life to give for my country.”

The fight for freedom against tyranny is in America’s DNA. To imagine that it could ever become tyrannical itself is unthinkable, like imagining that the American revolutionaries were the tyrants and King George III the freedom fighter. It would be utterly absurd.

the abbott has spoken in a debate that is not a debate... may god hit him in the debatables.....

BEFORE WE EMBARK ON SILLY TONY'S VIEWS ON GLOBAL WARMING WE MAKE A DETOUR BY HIS GENUINE ADMIRATION FOR A DEFENDER OF PEDERAST PRIESTS.... I MEAN YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN...

And Hell’s Pells, Tony Abbott, what an amazing man!

From making a knight of a prince, to seeking sainthood for another, Tony never misses an opportunity to sweetly surprise us.

The syrupy gushings about Pell from the Abbott, were indeed lovely and poetic:

“So I will hold on to him in my heart,

from love of a friend and mentor,

and as a gentle child for virtues sought but not yet attained.”

the nazis and ukraine........

“History isn’t what happened, but the stories of what happened and the lessons these stories include. The very selection of which histories to teach in a society shapes our view of how what is came to be and, in turn, what we understand as possible. This choice of which history to teach can never be ‘neutral’ or ‘objective.’ Those who choose, either following a set agenda or guided by hidden prejudices, serve their interests. Their interests could be to continue this world as it now stands or to make a new world.” – Howard Zinn

thieves in broad daylight........

What makes for a thieving culture? An overabundance of pickpockets? Tsunamis of burglary and shoplifting?

Most definitely not. To truly gauge a society’s larcenous leanings we need to look beyond the nimble-fingered and focus more on the smooth-talkers, the power-suited flimflammers who thrive in any society where significant numbers of people feel a driving need to get rich quick.

one sided freedom of the press: the liar journos of the CIA......

In the autumn of 1973, Jack Anderson, the wonderful iconoclast of the Washington press corps, published a syndicated column revealing that a Hearst Newspapers reporter had spied on Democratic presidential candidates in the service of Richard Nixon’s 1972 reelection campaign.

At the time of Anderson’s column, Seymour Frieden was a Hearst correspondent in London.  Anderson also reported, not quite in passing, but nearly, that Frieden tacitly acknowledged working for the Central Intelligence Agency.

Anderson’s column was as a pebble tossed in a pond. The ripples grew, if slowly at first.

gaming the system: no voice, more pain......

Senator Thorpe is correct. We have two nations in Australia. An Aboriginal nation – and then the rest of us. The issue is of sovereignty, a matter that can only be settled by a treaty, and not an Indigenous Voice to parliament. Great to see Senator Thorpe thinking very deeply.

Graeme Wells, Hornsby

We shouldn’t doubt Thorpe’s deep personal commitment genuinely outweighs her loyalty to a political party. She is being honest in the face of a lot of hostility – why not accept her views have crystallised since she was elected, not that she is being cynical and gaming the system.

limits....

The countries of the Atlanticist Axis are supplying increasingly powerful weapons to Ukraine, logically reinforcing the risks of a headlong rush from the conflict and a direct confrontation with Russia. In the role of the firefighter-arsonist, the German Chancellor Scholz has just declared that Western weapons will not be used to strike Russian territory.

rules-based order designed by clown for clowns......

One might actually be willing to consider that there might be some value in the “rules based international order” being promoted by the Joe Biden Administration if such a thing actually existed and was applied equally to all transgressors. Of course, in reality, the “rules” being referred to are neither agreed upon nor driven by any broad international consensus and are merely a trick that is exploited to further the interests of the United States and its closest allies.

In fact, the “rules”, such as they are, are most frequently ignored to give a pass to the bad behavior being exhibited by the US and its friends.
