Fifty years ago, on August 9, 1974, Richard M. Nixon resigned the presidency in disgrace on the threshold of impeachment as a result of the Watergate scandal.

Two years earlier, five men, including a salaried security coordinator for President Nixon’s re-election committee, were arrested for breaking into and illegally wiretapping the Democratic National Committee (DNC) headquarters in the Washington, D.C., Watergate Hotel.

The majority of American politicians, journalists, pundits and most commentators have decided that the war between the Zionist forces and the Palestinian resistance started on October 7th 2023. Not over 76 years ago, or more.

They totally ignore the ethnic cleansing of Palestine, in 1947 – 48, when 750,000 Palestinians were uprooted and displaced with no chance of return to their homes and land. They also ignore the 560 towns and villages that were razed to the ground and the Palestinian inhabitants of those towns and villages either massacred or kicked out.

A New York Times poll released on Saturday shows US Vice President Kamala Harris with a significant lead over former President Donald Trump in the swing states of Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan. The poll’s sampling data, however, suggests that the race could be far closer in reality.

Conducted by the Siena College Research Institute, the survey of nearly 2,000 likely voters found Harris beating Trump by 50% to 46% across all three states. The poll was conducted between August 5 and 9, in the week that Harris announced Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate.

On 6 August, a court in Berlin sentenced a young woman called Ava Moayeri to a fine of €600 for shouting “From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free.” One of Moayeri’s lawyers, Alexander Gorski, deplored this as “a rather dark day for freedom of expression in Germany.”

He’s right, even if his comment is an all too understated response to a scandalous miscarriage of justice. Indeed, it is hard to answer the question of what is wrong with this sentence, because, quite literally, everything is. Judge Birgit Balzer’s reasoning, for one thing, was embarrassingly shoddy, irresponsibly misinformed, and ethically and legally misguided, about which more below.

You’ve seen “White Women for Kamala” and “White Dudes for Harris” — but don’t expect a booster group called “Parents for Kamala and Tim.”

Kamala Harris is squarely opposed to parents’ right to control what young children are taught about gender, sex and sexuality in school.

And on Tuesday, she chose as her running mate Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz,  a former schoolteacher and teachers union member who shares her extreme anti-parent views.

Harris and Walz are out of line with what most Americans think — and not just Republicans.

Kiev launched its cross-border incursion into Kursk Region in an attempt to instill fear among the Russian population, a senior aide to Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky has said.
