Iranian Nobel winner Mohammadi moved to Tehran hospital Kate Hairsine with AFP, AP; Reuters and dpa Nobel Peace Prize laureate Narges Mohammadi has been transferred to a hospital in Iran's capital Tehran for medical treatment, a foundation run by her family said Sunday. Mohammadi has been granted a temporary suspension of her sentence in exchange for the payment of a substantial bail, the foundation said in a statement. She has now been transferred by ambulance to Pars hospital in Tehran "to be treated by her own medical team." The foundation gave no details of the bail arrangements or suspension of her sentence. Mohammadi's husband, Taghi Rahmani, who lives in Paris, also confirmed on social media that she had been transferred to Tehran. Ten days ago, Mohammadi was hospitalized in the northwestern city of Zanjan, where she was imprisoned, after collapsing in her prison cell. Mohammadi's brother Hamidreza Mohammadi, who is based in Oslo, Norway, said medical examiners had previously recommended her transfer to Tehran but the decision was blocked. He blamed Iran's intelligence agency. "I'm relieved now. I can breathe lightly," he told AP news agency in a message. What is known about Mohammadi's condition?Mohammadi had two suspected heart attacks, one on March and another on May 1, in prison in Zanjan. The 54-year-old human rights campaigner was rushed to hospital for treatment but remained under constant guard. Her husband said in a social media post on Saturday that her condition was critical. His wife had suffered a severe drop in blood pressure and was struggling to speak, Rahmani said. Her Paris-based lawyer Chirinne Ardakani posted a picture of Mohammadi in a hospital bed, adding that she had lost 20 kilograms (44 pounds) in prison but was currently "in the hands of her medical team." Mohammadi had a pulmonary embolism (a blood clot in her lung) from before her latest imprisonment in December 2025, according to her brother Hamidreza. Since her imprisonment, Mohammadi has suffered from chest pain, blood pressure fluctuations, severe headaches, dizziness, nausea and double vision, Amnesty International said in a statement in early May. At the time, Amnesty likened the denial of specialized medical care to Mohammadi as "torture." Why was Mohammadi in prison? The Iranian government arrested Mohammadi most recently in December 2025 after she denounced the Islamic republic at a funeral for a human rights lawyer. She had been on a temporary release on medical grounds from Iran's notorious Evin prison when she made the comments. In February 2026, a court sentenced Mohammadi to an additional seven and a half years in prison for conspiracy and propaganda activities. She has been arrested and imprisoned more than a dozen times. She was first jailed in 1998 for criticizing the Iranian government. Mohammadi was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2023 while in prison for a campaign to advance women's rights and abolish the death penalty. US President Donald Trump has said that Washington will get hold of Iran’s stockpile of enriched uranium “at some point,” repeating one of his key demands in peace talks. In an interview aired on Sunday, journalist Sharyl Attkisson asked Trump what stage the war with the Islamic Republic had reached, considering that the US has yet to secure Iran’s fissile material. “Well, we’ll get that at some point, whatever we want,” he said. “We have it surveilled, you know, I did a thing called Space Force… If anybody got near the place, we will know about it. And we’ll blow them up.” The US and Israel launched their attack in late February, framing the war as a way to preempt Tehran’s development of a nuclear weapon. In its latest proposal, Washington doubled down on its demand that Iran promise never to develop such a weapon, stop all enrichment activities and give up its stockpile of highly enriched uranium. Moscow has repeatedly offered to aid in the peace process and help remove the material. “Not only did we make such an offer; we already implemented it once before, back in 2015. Iran has complete trust in us, and not without reason,” Russian President Vladimir Putin told journalists during Victory Day celebrations in Moscow on Saturday. Russia has never violated its agreements and continues to cooperate with Iran on its peaceful nuclear energy programs, he added. Iran retains more than 400 kg of uranium enriched to 60%, according to International Atomic Energy Agency estimates. Weapons-grade levels typically require 90% enrichment and higher. While Iran has not published a response to the latest US offer, it has consistently refused to hand over its uranium stockpile or halt its civilian nuclear program, while demanding that Washington provide guarantees of non-aggression and remove its forces from the region. Tehran has also long denied plans to build a nuclear bomb. https://www.rt.com/news/639844-trump-vows-iran-enriched-uranium/

"The Israeli paper Ynet put the final nail in the coffin of the CIA/Mossad narrative in Iran, admitting that the Israeli Mossad laid the groundwork for the violent riots that preceded the Israeli/American war, and which were presented in the mainstream media as organic peaceful protests. “David Barnea was appointed head of the Mossad in 2021. Iran had been the organization’s main arena of operations for years. Barnea ordered a dramatic change in an area that had been marginal until then - driving influence within the general Iranian public. Under him, this area became central to the campaign against Iran”, the investigation noted." MOSSAD's Role In Iran Protests REVEALEDhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xjUKDFBZzM4

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) President Mirjana Spoljaric Egger on Sunday said that she opposed strikes on civilian infrastructure facilities amid US threats against Iran. "Any deliberate threats against civilians – in rhetoric and in action – are indefensible, inhumane and devastating for entire populations. We cannot normalize limitless war. We need to bring humanity back into the conversation on conflict. Civilians and the infrastructure they rely on to survive need to be protected," Spoljaric said in an interview with Iran's IRNA news agency, when asked about US President Donald Trump's threat to strike Iranian power plants and bridges announced in April. On Thursday, Trump threatened Iran with new strikes if Tehran does not sign a deal with the United States soon. On February 28, the United States and Israel began striking targets in Iran. On April 7, Washington and Tehran announced a two-week ceasefire. Subsequent talks in Islamabad ended inconclusively, with no resumption of hostilities reported, but the US has begun a blockade of Iranian ports. Mediators are attempting to organize a new round of talks.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Israeli authorities have established a secret military base in the Iraqi desert to launch airstrikes against Iran, the Wall Street Journal claims citing sources, including US officials. According to sources, the Israeli army built a facility to house special forces, the base also served as a logistics hub for the Israeli Air Force. The sources claim the base was established shortly before the outbreak of military action against Iran. The publication clarifies that search and rescue teams were also stationed at the base to search for Israeli pilots who ejected from downed aircraft. One unnamed source added that Israeli Air Force special forces trained in sabotage operations in enemy territory were also stationed at the base. Sources told the Wall Street Journal that the Israeli base in the Iraqi desert had nearly been uncovered in March. The newspaper noted citing unnamed Iraqi state media that a local shepherd had reported unusual military activity in the area, specifically helicopter flights, after which Iraqi forces were dispatched to inspect the military facility. Israel contained their advance with airstrikes, the publication said citing one of its sources. The newspaper does not specify the exact location of the base in Iraq. One unnamed source said that when an American F-15 fighter jet had been shot down near the Iranian city of Isfahan, Israel offered assistance, but US forces independently rescued the two pilots. Israel also carried out airstrikes to protect the operation, the Wall Street Journal added. An F-15E fighter-bomber was shot down over Iran. A search operation began on April 3; one of the two pilots was quickly found, and US President Donald Trump announced the return of the second on the night of April 5.
