the bullshit escalator....
The US President Donald Trump has said he had already made a decision on supplying long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine. He however refused to reveal what the exact decision is. “I’ve sort of made a decision on that. I would have to ask the question where are they sending them,” he told journalists at the White House on Monday. “I’m not looking to see escalation,”Trump stressed. Last month, US Vice President J.D. Vance revealed that the White House was considering supplying Kiev with the rockets, which cost an estimated $1.3 million each and have a range of 2,500km (1,550 miles), meaning that they could potentially reach Moscow and far beyond. Russian President Vladimir Putin later warned that relations between Moscow and Washington would be ruined in that case. He also argued that Kiev’s forces would be unable to operate such a sophisticated system without the “direct participation of American military personnel.” Reuters, citing anonymous sources, reported that the US was unlikely to supply Tomahawks to Ukraine, as the current inventories were committed to the US Navy and other uses. The Financial Times also reported that some people inside Trump’s inner circle were skeptical as to the Tomahawks’ ability to change battlefield dynamics. https://www.rt.com/news/626006-trump-says-made-decision-tomahawks-ukraine/

oreshnik to cuba.....
Russia Could Deploy Oreshnik Missiles to Cuba as Response to Tomahawk Transfers
Russia could place the long-range Oreshnik missile system in Cuba, a move Moscow might use to respond to any U.S. decision to supply Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, suggested Colonel Viktor Baranets, a commentator for the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper
Put the Gun to the US — AgainBaranets argued that Russia repeatedly warned the United States and NATO not to move closer to its borders. Stationing Oreshnik systems on Cuban soil, he wrote, would let Moscow "again put a gun to the fatty backside of the USA." He also proposed that Moscow could restore not only an electronic-intelligence center on the island but also bases for ground, naval, and air forces.
Range Options and Regional AlternativesAs an alternative to deploying Oreshnik missiles with a reported range of about 5,500 kilometers, Baranets suggested placing operational-tactical complexes on the island that could strike targets at distances of 2,000–3,000 kilometers.
“We should not exclude protecting Venezuela in the same way,” he added, hinting at a broader regional response.
Other Military Voices Echo the IdeaEarlier, military expert Alexander Stepanov said that reestablishing military cooperation with Cuba could serve as an equivalent Russian reply to potential U.S. deliveries of Tomahawk missiles to Kyiv.
Oreshnik Sightings and ImageryObservers noted that in September a mock-up of the medium-range ballistic missile Oreshnik appeared on a live video feed from the BelTA news agency, visible in the office of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko. That image fueled speculation about the system’s development and possible deployment scenarios.
“If Washington sends Tomahawks, we have to consider mirroring measures,” the columnist wrote, outlining Cuba and Venezuela as potential locations for Russian assets.Subscribe to Pravda.Ru Telegram channel, Facebook, RSS!

Donald Trump has discussed the possibility of sending Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine in order to pressure Vladimir Putin to settle the war in Ukraine. The Financial Times has reported that the US has been helping Ukraine strike Russian oil refineries for months, a fact which was not reported before. Dmitry Peskov has stated that the Tomahawk missiles are special, in the sense that Tomahawk can carry nuclear weapons. He has stated that Russia cannot know if the Tomahawk missiles launched at it are nuclear tipped or not. Vladimir Putin has talked about the issue and has stated that Russia “remains within the Alaska framework.” He has also dismissed the Tomahawk missiles speculations as posturing, a bluff on the part of the US.

blunt....
The potential delivery of US-made long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine will not help to end the conflict, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has said.
She made the remark after CNN reported that the Pentagon had given the White House approval to supply the Tomahawks to Ukraine, after concluding that the move would not deplete US stockpiles. Nevertheless, President Donald Trump has declined to provide the missile, which is capable of striking targets deep inside Russia.
“As the current situation and previous years have shown, it is clear that militarization and arms deliveries – especially to a terrorist regime – will not lead to a settlement. Moreover, such actions would contradict the campaign promises made by the current US administration,” Zakharova told reporters on Saturday.
Trump has long promised to mediate an end to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine and revived direct negotiations with Russia earlier this year. However, no breakthroughs were achieved during his rare summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska in August or in the renewed Russian-Ukrainian talks in Istanbul.
Trump recently postponed a planned summit with Putin in Hungary’s capital, Budapest, and imposed additional sanctions on Russia’s oil trade. At the same time, he rejected Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky’s request for the Tomahawks, saying the weapons were needed “to protect our country.” Trump also stated that Ukrainian troops would have to undergo extensive training to operate the missiles. “We know how to use it, and we’re not going to be teaching other people,” he said.
Putin warned last month that he would consider the delivery of Tomahawks as a further escalation and promised a “very strong response.”

Russia’s Military Advantage Over NATO
1 November 2025 by Larry C. Johnson
Underestimating one’s opponent, whether it is a sporting event or a military confrontation is a recipe for disaster. If you watch the mainstream media in the West, you are subjected to a flood of claims by former military and intelligence officers about the weakness and incompetence of the Russians. If you take time to watch my interviews with Russian military correspondent Sladkov and retired Russian Colonel Basurin, they eschew making such characterizations of the West… The US military in particular. For them, war is serious business and requires that one respect the opponent.
The news that the Pentagon has approved shipping Tomahawk missiles to Russia is a potential disaster for the West. One thing I heard from most of the people I interviewed during my time in Russia is that the deployment of this weapon to Ukraine is a red line for Russia because that missile can carry a nuclear warhead. If President Trump decides to do this, and one or more of those missiles are launched into Russia, then the Russian response will be severe and is likely to extend beyond Ukraine. Because the Russians believe that a Tomahawk can only be launched with direct participation by US military personnel, I cannot rule out the possibility that Russia will retaliate by hitting the continental US if the Tomahawk hits a sensitive target in Moscow or St. Petersburg… Donald Trump is playing with nuclear fire.
I interviewed Alexander Valeryevich Sladkov, who is a seasoned Russian military reporter and currently serves as the special correspondent for DIP “Vesti” VGTRK. Mr. Sladkov is a reserve officer (Senior Lieutenant) in the Russian army and is one of Russia’s most experienced war correspondents, having worked in all major conflicts across the post-Soviet space and beyond. He is the recipient of numerous state awards and professional prizes. In this interview he compliments the US military, but also acknowledges that the US is now viewed as a serious adversary. I was surprised to learn that during his career as a journalist he worked at the Pentagon, West Point and Bagram Air Force base in Afghanistan.
Following my interview with Sladkov, I interviewed Eduard Aleksandrovich Basurin. I screwed up at the start by identifying him as a former General, and he gently corrected my error by reminding me that he was a Colonel. Retired Colonel Basurin served in the the Donetsk People’s Republic, including a stint as the press secretary of the DPR military command. He is a graduate of the Donetsk Higher Military-Political School (1987) and served in both the Soviet and Russian armies (1987-1997). He has been sanctioned by the EU since February 16, 2015.
Colonel Basurin, like Sladkov, spoke respectfully of the US military. He said the biggest difference between the NATO officers and Russian officers is the Russian belief that senior officers, to be effective, must lead from the front. If you take time to watch this video I think you will come away with an appreciation of the humanity of this military man… I believe he represents the thinking of most Russian officers.
Glenn Diesen and I had a detailed discussion about Russian capabilities compared to those of NATO. I explained what I heard from the Russian military and political leaders that I interviewed while in Moscow.
